May 2017This spring I embarkedon the last and biggesttour with my family ofexchangers, throughEurope and its mostfamous cities. LateMarch we left Germanyto head towards Prague.Next was a stop inBudapest and then wespent a week in Italy, seeing big cities likeRome and Venice. Nextcame Barcelona, sometime in Paris and finally, our last stop, Belgium. The trip lasted a little over three weeks, and some days were possiblysome of the most exciting ones of my life so far.

My favouritecities had to beBudapest andBarcelona. Theweather was sonice and thecities were eachuniquelybeautiful, not tomention thesunny day onSitges Beach inSpain. But ofcourse, beingsurrounded thewhole time bymy funny,

awesome international family was what made the weeks so special. And in spite of knowingthat it would be our last tour together we all had so much fun.

May 2017

In May, I had the opportunity to fly to Essex, a city near London, England, with myRotary club. There, my club, an English club, and a club from the Netherlands all held theirannual partner clubs meeting. We spent an evening having dinner on a boat touring throughLondon on the Thames, and that was probably my one of my favourite parts. The weather wassurprisingly good but the views were absolutely breathtaking. During this weekend, I learnt alot of new things and spoke with so many interesting people. I was welcomed into a host familyfor the time and they were incredibly kind. With the Rotarians from the other clubs I had manyeye-opening and inspirational conversations. Wearing my Rotary blazer all covered in pins andmemories, and seeing how many people came up and interacted with me, really showed mehow meaningful Rotary Youth Exchange is.

Knowing that my flight back is coming everfaster and closer, I’ve been trying evenharder to make the most of the time I haveleft. I’m spending as much as my free timeout and about with my friends and familyas I can. There seems to be so much morethings to do and places I have yet todiscover. So despite being here sinceAugust, sometimes all I want to do is stayhere for another year. This exchange hasbeen so indescribably amazing with all thenew experiences, knowledge and people itsintroduced into my life. I know for sure thatdespite how far apart I may grow withpeople and how long ago it may seem, I willnever forget the memories I’ve made here.

Dankeschön,
