With over 150 restaurant locations on six continents, Tony Roma’s is one of the most globally recognizable names in the industry. From Miami to Los Angeles, Orlando to Edmonton, and Tokyo to Madrid, Tony Roma’s serves its signature ribs, world famous onion loaf, steak, chicken and seafood entrées to thousands of guests every day.

The first “Tony Roma’s” was opened in North Miami, Florida on January 20, 1972. The restaurant featured casual décor, comfortable ambience and the feel of a neighborhood bar. The menu was simple and consisted of great tasting food, reasonable prices, late evening service and nightly live entertainment. Baby Back ribs emerged as the house specialty with people traveling miles to sample the signature product. Tony Roma’s Place soon became one of Miami’s most popular and successful restaurants and firmly established its niche in the marketplace.

In January 1976, Clint Murchison Jr., a Texas financier and owner of the Dallas Cowboys was in Miami for the Super Bowl. After sampling Tony Roma’s ribs and cole slaw, he was convinced they were the best he had ever tasted. He offered to purchase the majority of the U.S. Franchise rights and establish a jointly owned company… Roma Corporation to fund aggressive growth and expansion.

Today

The second restaurant was opened in Broward County, Florida in 1976. In December of that year the first West Coast restaurant opened in Beverly Hills. The opening was in true Hollywood tradition with numerous celebrities and sports figures in attendance. Over the next five years, new Tony Roma’s were opened in Florida, California, Hawaii, Nevada, New York, Tennessee and Texas. The first international Tony Roma’s, a Franchise, opened in Japan on August 9, 1979.

The first domestically franchised Tony Roma’s was opened in July 1982 in San Jose, California. In 1983, Tony Roma transferred his development rights to Roma Corporation and the following year Clint Murchison Jr. sold his interest in Tony Roma’s to his children. The headquarters was moved to Dallas, Texas and the company continued to grow both in Company and Franchise restaurant development.

Under current management, we’ve established a strong presence in Latin America and the Caribbean, and continued our growth in Canada and the United States. Tony Roma’s today has Company and Franchise operations throughout the world.

The company’s worldwide sales are in excess of $290 million. The enterprise is approximately 90% operated by Franchise Partners. About 75% of the restaurants are operated outside of the U.S.

Since beginning over 40 years ago, Tony Roma’s has been focused on serving its signature Baby Back ribs. The company has won

numerous awards across the country, among them is “The Best Ribs in America”.

Tony Roma’s is not just a place for ribs anymore. We have expanded our menu to focus on variety for all guests. We have an extensive selection of steaks and seafood entrées along with the most unique appetizers and mini desserts in our segment. We have also redesigned our buildings and our service to meet the continuous high expecations of our guests.

It is not easily defined, but it is unmistakable. You begin to relax the moment you arrive and the door closes to the outside world. It is then, you are greeted by our friendly staff and the pleasing aromas of our superb food!

• Booths are classic design with a slightly higher back, providing a little privacy while keeping the energy of the restaurant still very much a part of the experience.

• We incorporate contemporary fabric designs while our booth construction allows a simplified change-out process when needed.

• We chose the engineered stone because of it’s warmth, richness and durability. It is also cost effective compared to real stone.

• The tiles are designed to be long lasting while providing a feeling of luxury and class.

• The entrance slate porcelain tiles are laid in a unique pattern to add texture and intrigue.

• The gas lanterns at the entry of the building capture attention and invite our guests in with the flickering flames. They project a feeling of warmth and abundance.

Tony Roma’s has redesigned the buildings and service to meet the continuous high expectations of the guests.

SPECIFICATIONS:• We went above the normal to provide unique hand blown glass fixtures over the bar-top thus avoiding a cookie-cutter look. They add warmth, class and a modern feel to the restaurant.

SPECIFICATIONS:

•Our lighting package purposely adds edgier and trendier elements to our design.

• The artwork incorporates our black and white photos featuring Tony himself on canvas medium. The city skylines in color from many of our countries speak to our International presence while adding a contemporary touch.

• The bathroom tile is unique and offers dimension and texture to our facilities. Our guests want luxurious bathrooms in their homes and they are expecting it in restaurants as well.

• The bar floor tile gives guests a feeling there is a wood floor. The tile is a more durable option requiring far lower maintenance time and cost than wood over the course of wood’s shorter lifetime.

At Tony Roma’s we embrace our heritage in Baby Back Ribs and Onion Loaves, but we’re so much more.Our expertise in ribs has made us masters of the grill. At any given table you may find our guests enjoying our signature steaks and seafood too. At Tony Roma’s, guests can have their steak or fish customized to their exact tastes. Filet Medallions allow them to sample up to three steakhouse toppings, like Cabernet demi-glace, Wild Mushrooms or Bourbon BBQ onions for their quality steaks.

Like Tony’s original place in North Miami, our restaurants provide a comfortable, unpretentious atmosphere to taste innovative new items like Tuscan Pesto Mahi with balsamic-glazed roasted artichoke hearts, grape tomatoes, red onion and feta cheese. Ahi Tuna Salad with wasabi broccoli slaw or the Nolita Deli Panini with Genoa salami, Havarti cheese and a homemade pepperoncini and caper sauce. Unexpected flavors in a chain concept with an unexpected bonus – all items are developed with an awareness of keeping food costs at a manageable level.

PURCHASING / R&D / CULINARY OPERATIONS

The role of the Purchasing / R&D / Culinary Operations Department is to be the driving force behind the menu evolution for Tony Roma’s that delivers a proven strategy for the success of our franchise partners and company restaurants.

The department develops menu strategies for the brand by continually improving food offerings to our guests. The complete process from concept inception, product sourcing to in-store testing ensures that we are providing a complete service to our partners.

Our mission is to ensure each menu item offered is flavorful, executable, and profitable while providing the guest with a high level of taste satisfaction whether choosing our World Famous Ribs, Fire Grilled Steaks with custom sauces, or Signature Seafood creations.

We view our Franchise Partners as business partners whose

success is our priority. We support franchise operations by providing

on-site, hands-on culinary training, maintaining an alliance with

a distribution system both nationally and internationally while

maintaining a vendor family that supports our goals and values.

Our department has previous operational experience and

understands the “day in the life” of a restaurant manager. We understand the foundation needed

to execute successfully while maintaining restaurant unit economics. The department functions as

a resource to franchise partners and is committed to supporting their needs and requests.

Tony Roma’s marketing department offers full support for the franchisee partner for sales and branding needs. With more than 25 years of combined restaurant marketing experience, our team understands and realizes the importance of strategic marketing to your business as it pertains to increasing market share, tactical program implementation and sales building. Our Support includes, but is not limited, to the following:

FRANCHISE OPERATIONS

The role of the Tony Roma’s Franchise Operations Department is that of a business consultant providing two way communication by exchanging information and ideas between the Brand and the Franchise Community.

For new Franchise Partners the Franchise Operations Department focuses on assisting with site selection, the construction stages, the opening processes, operating procedures and brand standards and culture.

Once the Franchise Partner becomes proficient in operating their Tony Roma’s, the Franchise Operations Department assists in various marketing campaigns and menu rollouts and consults on building sales and profitability. Franchise Operations also consults on appropriate infrastructure and the critical path for development to meet the Franchise Partners’ and Tony Roma’s goals.

By providing the proper tools and knowledge necessary to execute and grow while focusing on the business initiatives of the individual Franchise Partners, the Franchise Operations Department provides the necessary components that drive value to each Franchise Partner’s investment and the Enterprise at large.

FRANCHISETRAINING

Tony Roma’s Franchise Training provides all the information, systems, andtraining for our Franchise Partners so they can be successful. The Training team supports Franchise Partners during New Restaurant Openings, partner and manager training, and continual team member training. In addition to field based training support, the Training Department produces a variety of training material in print, web-based, and video formats.

FRANCHISE REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:• Tony Roma’s franchise candidates, individually or corporately, should have a minimum net worth of $3 million (not including residences, automobiles and other personal assets).

• Of that net worth, $1 million should be liquid, i.e. cash or easily convertible assets.

• We require you or one of your principals to have a background in restaurant operations as an owner, multi-unit franchise partner or operations executive.

• Although Tony Roma’s allows for single unit agreements, the current focus is in multi-unit development (3 - 5 units)

TONY ROMA’S SIGNS NEW DEVELOPMENT AGREEMENT FOR BRAZIL

DECEMBER 13, 2012. ORLANDO, FL - Romacorp, Inc., parent company of Tony Roma’s, announces the signing of an agreement with I2C for the development of up to ten new Tony Roma’s restaurants in Brazil. The first restaurant is planned to open in Sao Paulo within the next twelve months.

Carlos Passos and Carlos Miranda are the two principals in I2C and currently own and operate restaurants in the Sao Paulo market.

“We are extremely pleased to finalize this new agreement in Brazil,” said Ken Myres, President of Romacorp, Inc. “Carlos and Carlos are strong operational partners and their new Tony Roma’s will reflect our new prototypical design and décor elements as well as feature our new menu items.”

COUNTRIES OCTOBER 19, 2011, ORLANDO, FL - Romacorp, Inc. announced the opening of three new Tony Roma’s restaurants in three different countries. The openings include a unique, new dual branded concept in Torrance, CA and new openings in Jakarta, Indonesia and Bangkok, Thailand.

The new openings in Jakarta and Bangkok were by Tony Roma’s Area Developer, Mas Millennium. Mas Millennium is based in Singapore and currently owns and operates Tony Roma’s restaurants in seven countries throughout Asia.

The new Torrance Tony Roma’s in the Los Angeles market was opened by WDI, International. The freestanding building also includes a Capricciosa Italian Restaurant that is the first U.S. opening. WDI was Tony Roma’s first international franchise partner and they also own and operate Tony Roma’s in Japan, Guam and Hawaii in addition to other southern California tourist locations including Anaheim and City Walk at Universal Studios.
