Frames, engines, etc.

OK guys. This is what going to happen. You and I have decided to build a Go-Kart. Its an expensive, awesome, and cautious process… but its freaking worth it. Now its gonna take some skill and manual dexterity to dissemble the blade and such from the engine I’ll need Zachary. Parts supply is where I need Jacob. And steven, you are key to this. This doesn’t mean you get to name and paint it. It just means your important and we will discuss portions later. Steven and I and hopefully zachary will supply financial support where as jacob, you need to get us some soda xD anyway, whichever one of you is reading this… You are

very important

Engine Frames

I’m going to show you a few Go-Kart frames I found that will show you what we’re dealing with. Pay close attention as details are vital(important)

The Basic 4 wheel frame

Steering system

Engine and seat area

Page 5: Frames, engines, etc

Look at the wheel and the positioning of everything

(the seats, engine etc.)

Look how the wheels are locked in place and a nut is used on the outside

Page 6: Frames, engines, etc

This is a simpler model, it contains the basics, and we have to learn how to

make this before we install the engine

lol I thought this was funny xD

Page 9: Frames, engines, etc

This sadly isn’t such a bad idea

Page 10: Frames, engines, etc

You can clearly see this isn’t going to be finished in a week. It’s going to take a while and if you don’t want to do this you don’t have to but help is very much appreciated.

---------------------------------------------------------------- The next half will show you my thoughts on

the 3 wheel model. My original thought was to have the motorized wheel in the back like most sports and exotic cars do, but because jacob and steven thought that a four wheeler was an easier safer model, we went with that

Page 11: Frames, engines, etc

You can see how not only it will be easier to cover, but it also looks cooler, and a lot

easier to built accordingly than the 4 wheeler. It practically hides the motor

instead of it sticking out.

Page 12: Frames, engines, etc

A side view of the way its going rotate

Page 13: Frames, engines, etc

This is how its going to rotate, the chain or V-belt will be attached to the motor and rotating axle. The thing is that the rotator on the engine

is horizontal “–” and not verticle “|”

Page 14: Frames, engines, etc

This is the Scorpion go kart frame A.K.A the inspiration for my thoughts on the 3 wheeler

Engines

Page 16: Frames, engines, etc

I’m afraid engines aren’t cheap, but they’re as low as $50 for a

below acceptable engine. that’s why moneys an issue, look for a cheap and relatively fast engine. The slower the cheaper, but the

faster, the funner. For the engine alone, we’re talking $50-$120 :\

Page 17: Frames, engines, etc

As you can see, this is the first thing we have to fix. It’s actually as simple as unscrewing the blade. I don’t know why this didn’t come to me earlier but we can actually use the rotating rods attached to the wheels. So basically: 1. Remove the wheels and replace with thick rubber one

2. attach A rotating Axel and tada!

As you can see the rotator is horizontal and will be difficult to attach the V belt to work with the vertical wheel

Page 18: Frames, engines, etc

Lawn mower engine are kinda cheap, but harder to work with

because of the rotators direction

and location

This rod rotates from left to right making the V belt attachment difficult. Plus its going a different direction from the wheels up to down or north to south

Page 19: Frames, engines, etc

As you can see we need the engine to rotate in this direction and area for an easier attachment of the V belt

Page 20: Frames, engines, etc

If the engine rotates from the side the V belt will attach easier which is why an engine meant for wheels

is much much more convenientSTAY ON THE LAST SLIDE AND LISTEN

Thank you
