Second Coming Introduction•Current events prove imminence of the coming Lord•His coming shall be in two phases• These phases will include various events


•During Phase I (Rev 18:4), He will come for the saints to protect them from experiencing the ‘Great Tribulation’

•Great Tribulation will occur after the first phase of His second coming. The various events that will be witnessed within this 1st phase are as follows:

–Jesus will appear in the sky to take home His own – 1Thess 4: 16– Rapture (signifies beginning of the 1st Resurrection) – 1Thess 4: 13 – 19, 1Cor 15: 44,

51 – 53–The anti-Christ will reign for seven years [of great tribulation] on earth – a period of

great horror and terror – the first and last of its type – Matt 24: 21, 2 Thess 2: 5-8–Raptured saints, however, during this seven years will witness events such as:

•The Judgment Seat of Christ – Rom 14: 10, 2 Cor. 3: 11-15 •The Marriage Supper of the Lamb – Rev 19: 7-9

–The second death shall have no power over raptured saints – 1Cor.15: 54, Rev 20: 6; 2: 11

–The church, undefiled brethren and the saints will not partake in Great Tribulation

Second ComingPhase I


Second Coming Phase II After the Great Tribulation, Christ and His bride shall return to the earth. The following events will unfold during this phase:

–The battle of Armageddon – Rev 16: 13-16, Zech 14: 1-5 Rev19: 11-19–The anti-Christ’s armies will be defeated with the sword from Jesus’ mouth – Rev 19: 20-21

–The Millennial Reign of Christ – Rev 20: 4-6 •Theocratic form of government – God ruling•It is going to be a period of Golden age – Is 2: 4; 11: 6-9; 60: 18; Jer 30: 17 •Christ will take possession of David’s Kingdom – 2 Sam.7: 8-16•Restoration of Israel back to their rightful King – Jer 31: 10; Amos 9: 14-15•Satan shall be held captive during the entire period – Rev 20: 1-3


Second ComingTribulation Period The time between His coming to receive the bride and saints into heaven and His coming to administer judgment – Matt 24: 21, Rev 9, Rev 16, Is 26: 20-21


Second ComingMillennial Reign•Christ will set His Kingdom on earth for a thousand years – Rev 20: 1-6, Rev 2: 26-27

•During this millennial period, Satan will be chained – Rev 20: 2-3

• It will be a time of peace and blessings to mankind – Is 11: 6-9, 65: 25, Hosea 2: 18, Zech 14: 9-20, Is.2: 2-4

•The Coming Judgments – there will be three special judgments:–The judgment of the believers – 2Cor 5: 10, 1Cor.3: 3, 11-15, James 1: 12, Rom.2: 16

–The judgment of the Nation – Acts 17: 31, Joel 3: 2, Eze 14: 15, 2Thess.1: 7-10

–The judgment of the unbelievers or the White Throne Judgment – Rev 20: 11-15, 2Peter 3: 7; Dan.12: 2


Second ComingNew Heaven & New Earth•After judgment, the wicked of the world will be done away with

•After judgment, God will create a new Heaven and a new earth in which holiness will exist – Matt 24: 35, 2 Pet 3: 12-13, Rev.21: 1-3


Second ComingEternal Life & Eternal Punishment

•There is eternal punishment as well as eternal life – Matt 25: 46• Wicked people will be sent to hell (Lake of Fire) to be tormented both day and night. •The punishment will continue here forever – Rev 14:10-11, Luke 16: 24, Mark 9:43-44
