2 Forsgate Country Club2 Forsgate Country Club
Happy New Year to all! I hope everyone has had a
great holiday season and is going to enjoy our club
over the winter months. As you can see from the
contents of this issue of Traditions, we continue to look
for new events and activities that add to the value and enjoyment
of membership at Forsgate Country Club. As always we pride
ourselves on being the #1 Family Club in New Jersey.
Th is winter our Food and Beverage staff will be upgrading
Restaurant 37. As such, the Dining Room will be closed
throughout the winter until April 1st except for Valentine’s Day.
We will use this time to enhance service training and to refi ne
the concept, recipes and presentation of our exciting menu. I look
forward to your support in 2011 and welcome your input.
Th e winter practice facility is open and available for practice or
instruction. Please take advantage of the opportunity to keep your
game sharp and your golf fi tness levels high during the off season
by using it or the Sports Complex often.
Keep your New Year’s resolutions for fi tness, fl exibility, nutrition
or an improved golf game by visiting with Dave Kopf or Scott
Barnaby, our Titleist trained golf fi tness instructors this winter.

Food & Beverage Tony DiGioia-Laird, Director of Food & Beverage
As we enter a New Year, some of us may be
considering a “New Year’s Resolution(s)”.
Here are a few ideas, while keeping
Forsgate Country Club in mind:
1. If you only drink white wines, it is time to expand
your horizons and try the reds. Th e newest trend is red
blends. Th ey are listed under “Meritage” in most wine
books. Two new Meritage wines we have added are
Stag’s Leap Cellar’s Hands of Time and Sterling SVR.
2. Attend at lead one special event held at the club
each month. We off er many outstanding events
that meet the diverse interests of our members.
Remember, every Tuesday is Family night and children
are free.
3. Become more involved in the club. Share an idea;
Join a committee; Recommend a new member.
4. Restaurant 37 will reopen in April and featuring
some new changes. Make time to enjoy this fi ne
dining experience. More information will be available
in the March Traditions.
Forsgate Country Club provides opportunities to
spend quality time with family and friends; golfi ng
encourages members to foster healthy lifestyles;
special events help attendees learn something new
while enjoying life.
Good luck with your resolutions. Have a healthy happy
and prosperous 2011!

Jay Flemma is a noted golf writer and entertainment lawyer, and has a blog called A Walk in the Park. Last month, he featured Forsgate TV’s Wayne and Skippy: Golf Police segment in a recent post (see: jayfl emma.thegolfspace.com). Along with fi nding the piece very entertaining, he also complimented the Banks Course and the club’s friendly membership. Th anks, Jay!
Forsgate TV UpdateTh e Forsgate TV production team is already thinking ahead for the new year. If you have any suggestions and/or would like to be included in an upcoming episode of FTV, please contact Heifa Sirangelo at 732-656-8900, or mention your interest to Tom Herrmann (Forsgate member) or Andy Strohl (Forsgate staff ) when you see either of them at the Club. We want to see more and more members and their families on Forsgate TV next year!
Our December episode of FTV will feature this fall’s Char-ity Golf Classic with Annika Sorenstam and J. B. Holmes, a tip from our golf staff to help your game, a look at this year’s traditional tree lighting ceremony, and our campy comic club comrades Wayne & Skippy.
Forsgate TV episodes (current and past) can be viewed on the Forsgate CC website, or at our own Forsgate TV You Tube channel

See what Forsgate Members are saying about the personal training program…For years I have struggled on and off with weight loss programs, but when my doctor told me I needed to lose weight or I risk serious health issues like diabetes, I knew I had to find a better way. In April I signed up to train with a personal trainer at Forsgate’s Sports Complex. Since working out with Rob Cantora for 3 months I am astounded at the results. I have lost 30 lbs, and I feel great! Rob has been fantastic, he put me on a training schedule that is definitely working for me and keeps me motivated. The Sport’s Complex is kept meticulously clean and the machines are always operating! Dave, Rob and the rest of the staff go out of their way to make you feel at home and work hard to help you meet your goals!
Thanks for everything!
Angelo Ventrone
Working with Dave Kopf has improved my body composition, overall health and self esteem. Dave makes training enjoyable and educating, which is what keeps me coming back for more. I strongly recommend personal training to anyone who wants to feel better about themselves!
