Friends

Written and Illistrated by Hannah Witte

Once there lived a small frog. A frog with dreams.

Page 3: forest friends

The frog had dreams of meeting new animals living near a pound at least larger than the one it lived beside now.

Page 4: forest friends

Then one day it saw a even smaller, scruffy mouse swimming in the pound.

“UMM, hello?” said the frog cautiously, “I'm...”

“Hey! Whats up? I don't mean to intrude, but I just had to take a swim in the pound.” Exclaimed the small creature.

“ Oh, its fine. I was coming down for a early morning swim. You might be done, but if you are not, would you like to join be?” asked the frog.“Sure! There is no such thing as too much swimming.” answered the mouse.

The mouse was wise and taught the frog many new things. Mouse taught the frog stuff like possible predators and to never judge a book by it's cover. Not only did the mouse teach the frog, taught the mouse how to jump really high and even to ribbet like a frog. And when they went swimming and the waves in the pound were really big, the frog would give the mouse rides on it's back.

Then one day mouse, with it's big ears heard the flapping of wings and the “ Who” of an owl. It look up at a large tree branch above it's head there was a real life owl!!! The frog darted into the woods, and never to leave it's friend alone in fearful time, the scruffy mouse fallowed.

The mouse looked back. The owl was almost literally on there tail. The owl looked so close and so massive, that the mouse wanted to curl up in a tiny ball, but it couldn't. Just couldn't leave it's friend at the mersey of the talons. The desert for the owl after it's done with it. The mouse

They cornered. Cornered in the deep depths of the woods. The owl, even larger now in the mouses eyes. The mouse and the frog slowly inched back. They had nowhere to go when …

“Hi! I'm owl. Sorry if I scared you, my mom told me I should leave the nest for a bit and when I saw you two I …” the owl was interrupted

“ So you're not going to eat, or kill us. Or both?” asked the frog.

“ No! Where did you get that idea?” exclaimed the owl. “ I'm a vegetarian.”

“ I Don't know where the frog got that from, lets all just be friends.” answered the mouse. After that on very scary night they were all best friends forever. Even the owl. The Frog wasn't really sure what exactly happened that night, but when he reflected on the pond, the lily pads, the forest, the mouse, WAIT! The mouse. That was it. The frog remembered how the mouse taught it to never judge a book by its cover. The mouse was very wise.

All was well in the lives of the small forest animals. They ventured off to a new land with rich vegetation and a HUGE pond in a meadow in the middle of the forest. They dived off of branches into the pond. They Soaked up the sun on the lily pads and they all new, nothing could get better than this.
