If a client is made redundant or has given up work to become a full-time carer for a close relative (spouse/partner and children), we understand that they’ll need more than just financial help.That’s why our Unemployment Cover comes with our Helping Hand support service at no extra cost. Your clients can use Helping Hand from the day their plan starts and they don’t need to make a claim to use it. The service is available throughout the term of their plan to help support them if they’re going through a difficult time.

Bereavement counselling to help your clients and their families cope with the loss of a loved one or friend.

Specialist oncology nurse support to calm fears, answer questions and help people cope with the impact of cancer treatment.

Specialist speech and language therapy to help people rediscover their voice after a stroke.

Stress management advice to help them through the dark times and cope with life when it just gets too much.

Cardiac rehabilitation support to help people rebuild their strength and confidence after a heart attack and re-evaluate their work and lifestyle.

Help for carers offers your clients and their spouse/partner and children advice and counselling if they need to provide full time care for a close relative.

HelplinesAs well as the career helpline, Helping Hand offers two additional helplines that your clients and their families can call:

Legal helpline for questions about things like employment law, will writing, probate, inheritance tax or power of attorney.

Medical helpline for advice on any health concerns, or things like stopping smoking, healthier living, vaccinations, or hospital waiting times.

Help to get back into work Our specialist recruitment partner, Cazden, can offer support to your clients to help them move on to the next stage in their careers after redundancy. A consultant from Cazden will help your clients focus on the options open to them so they can make the right choices for their future.

If someone’s been in a job for a long time, applying for new roles and attending interviews may be quite daunting. So Cazden’s consultants offer practical support to help get your clients back into the workplace. This could include:

• help with writing CVs and covering letters

• advice on where to find suitable vacancies and applying for new roles

• tips for networking

• practicing interview skills

• advice on settling into a new job

Support from a personal nurse adviserWe also work with RedArc, an independent care advisory service, who’ll give your clients and their families (spouse/partner and children) tailored support from a personal nurse adviser for as long as they need it. And if a client has given up work to care for a close relative and feels that they need a bit of support, having access to professional advice could be invaluable.

Their nurse adviser can also arrange:

A face-to-face second medical opinion within the NHS or private sector in the UK, Channel Islands or Isle of Man – whichever is right for each client.

Helplines are provided by independent third party suppliers – Cazden (career), Knights Professional Services (legal) and RedArc (medical). The calls made to the helplines are confidential and won’t be discussed with Royal London. Calls are charged at the local rate set by phone providers.
