Join us Saturday, February 27th for
Kamehameha Schools’ 91st annual
Hoʻolauleʻa. Hosted by the Sophomore
Class of 2018, it promises to be a day of great
fun, food, music and aloha. The day begins
with the traditional pū, oli and pule at the start
time of 8:30 a.m. and is immediately followed by
the Kamehameha Schools Performing Arts student
groups. Local entertainers gracing the center stage
this year include All-Star Women of Hawaiʻi, Chad
Takatsugi & Friends, Kekuhi Kanahele & Kaumakaiwa
Kanakaʻole, Kuana Torres Kahele and Nā Waihoʻolu‘u
O Ke Ānuenue.
Not only do we have an outstanding line-up of entertainers,
but there will be activities for all ages and interests including Xtreme Fun rides,
games and crafts.
Teens can test their skills at the dunking booth or shoot baskets for liters of soda,
get tattooed or just gather with friends.
The Country Store will be stocked with our famous Kamehameha brownies,
handmade crafts, Kamehameha logo items and dry brownie mix.
The Silent Auction is the place to be if you’re looking for a good deal on great
products. For a full list of items being auctioned, and for rules and guidelines,
register as a bidder at Konia 108-109 on Hoʻolauleʻa day. The Silent Auction
catalog will be posted on the PAR website at: http://parents.ksbe.edu by
February 24, 2016. Community Booths, located on the 1st floor of the Konia
hallways and the Smith courtyard will again be available with information
pertinent to our Hawaiian community.
And of course, Hoʻolauleʻa would not be complete without all the ʻono
grinds! The Hawaiian plate will be served on Konia field again this year, along
with fried saimin, hamburgers, hot dogs and Korean plate. Check out the
Sweet Shoppe for frozen treats and popcorn and the Healthy Haven for fruit
smoothies and ’ono salads.
The neighbor island booths will once again be selling specialties such as
Kauaʻi kūlolo and pastele stew, Molokaʻi bread and fried fish plate, Kona teas,
coffees, macadamia nuts and Bruddah Pops. Fruits and vegetables will also
be available from all islands.
