Internet Safety PowerPoint Quiz

In this assignment you will create a digital quiz using PowerPoint. You will learn how to use

hyperlinks and action buttons. Open the Piner 112

folder>Resources>Examples to see an example!©Renée Cole 2018

1. Open PowerPoint

2. Click on the Design tab and choose a theme

3. Title the Title slide as Internet Safety Quiz and your name

4. Save as (your initials)INTERNET QUIZ in your MULTIMEDIA folder

5. Add a New Slide 6. Open your Internet Safety Vocabulary or your

Digital Life Vocabulary 7. COPY a definition from one of your

vocabulary words8. Click on your PowerPoint9. On the new slide, PASTE the definition

10. Make the definition a question or fill-in-the-blank

11. List three answer choices with one being the correct answer

12. Add a clipart to give a clue to the answer

13. Add another New Slide

14. Create another question for another definition with 3 answer choices and a clip art clue

15. Create slides for each definition until you have all 10 vocabulary words have been used

16. Save changes

17. Click on the Sorter View (bottom right-hand corner)

18. Rearrange your slides by clicking and dragging

19. Save changes

20. Add another New Slide at the end

21. Type a correct answer response

22. Add another New Slide at the end

23. Type an incorrect response

24. Save Changes

Now we’ll set up the hyperlinks:

25. Click on the first question slide

26. Highlight the correct answer

27. Click the INSERT>HYPERLINK>Place in this Document>choose the correct response slide>OK

28. Highlight one of the incorrect responses INSERT>HYPERLINK>Place in this Document>choose the wrong response slide>OK

NOTE: You have to highlight the wrong answer choices separately!)

29. Repeat for other wrong answer

NOTE: HYPERLINKS WILL NOT WORK UNTIL YOU VIEW SLIDESHOW

30. View the slide show and test your hyperlinks BEFORE adding the links to the other slides

IMPORTANT: IF THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH LINKING TO EITHER OF THE RESPONSE SLIDES CORRECT IT NOW BEFORE PROCEEDING. IF YOU HAVE A PROBLEM WITH GETTING EITHER OF THE RESPONSE SLIDES TO LINK TRY DELETING THE SLIDE AND REMAKING IT.

31. Set up hyperlinks on all the other question slides. Each answer choice on each slide should be linked to either the correct answer response or the incorrect answer response. BE SURE TO SAVE FREQUENTLY!

Now to set up the Action Buttons

32. Click on the correct answer response slide

33. Click INSERT>SHAPES

34. Scroll all the way down and Click on the RETURN button IT LOOKS LIKE A U-TURN ARROW

35. On the slide, drag the mouse to create the button in the spot you want the button

36. Right click on the button>Select HYPERLINK TO: LAST SLIDE VIEWED>OK

Your slide should now look something like this:

37. Add a RETURN ACTION BUTTON to the incorrect response slide

38. View your show to Test the buttons to make sure they work

39. Add TRANSITIONS to all slides40. Add an APPLAUSE sound to the transition on the

CORRECT RESPONSE SLIDE41. Add a BOMB sound to the transition on the WRONG

ANSWER SLIDENOTE: DO NOT ADD SOUNDS TO ANY OTHER

TRANSITIONS!39. View your slideshow to test all links. Click on each

answer choice to make sure everything is working correctly. Make any necessary corrections

40. SAVE!41. Complete the rubric and TURN IT IN!
