FOCUS ON - 6 BELL Our class, 6B, has recently begun researching, and studying the wonderful world of eco-systems! We were split
into a few different groups, each group working on a different eco-system. Each group had to create a poster, using
chalk pastels, water colours and a bunch of other artistic devices to make the eco-systems come alive on the
paper. Next we found pictures of the flora and fauna that lived in that particular eco-system. We stuck them onto
our posters, along with information next to the diagrams.

KINDERGARTEN AND LAUNCH INTO LEARNING (LiL) WORKING BEE
On Saturday 27th, we had a very successful working bee in the Kindergarten playground. We made a tyre dome, a
creek bed complete with a hand pump and re-circulating sump pit, re-painted markings on the bike track, painted
the cottage, planted many plants, weeded, planted and repaired garden edging. It was so fantastic to have such
enthusiastic helpers! Particular thanks must go to Trent Direen with his excavator and line marker, Marc
Lagerewskij with his cement mixer and trowel, Stuart Judd for donating the plumbing supplies, Angela Workman
for donating the plants, Rob Wallace for donating the much needed sausages, and Darren Worsley for helping out
as well. Many thanks also to everyone who attended and helped out on the day.
At the same time, we also had a working bee in the LiL playground to make a mud kitchen. Many thanks to the
Nally family, and Damien Cox for helping with this. Also to Sarah Adams for donating items for the mud kitchen.

AUTHORS CLUB
It was an AMAZING Authors Club this
week. I was very impressed with the
detailed sentences and paragraphs that the
students developed to convey their
meaning of the topic or idea that they were
writing about. All of the participants of
Authors Club were fully engaged as each
student read their work to us. Well done to this week’s
Authors.
This week we had: Jacob, Amelia, Olivia, Riley, Murdoch,
Macey, Myles and Brayden.
Here is some writing from Brayden in Grade
2. The class are focusing on their descriptive
writing and I’m sure you would agree, this
breakfast sounds amazing!
Breakfast.
Today I had some pikelets with cream and
jam. The jam was perfection. The cream was
delicious and white. I had a thick shake with
ice-cream and chocolate toping, milk and
bananas. The pikelets were round, there were
no ends. There were chunks of hard chocolate
and banana. It was so good. It just melted in
my mouth.

KITCHEN GARDEN PROGRAM
Hello everybody!
With the weather cooling down it was a real treat to have the students rustle up a warming, rich broccoli and leek
tart served with a slightly bitter fresh rocket salad of the imagination and a divine rhubarb yoghurt cake. Not a
scrap left unsurprisingly!
Just to let those volunteers know who help with 3/4BD cooking that they will be swapping their cooking class on
Thursday 8th to Wednesday 7th at 11.25 till 12.45 to help prepare for the Tanabata Festival inspired Garden Café
lunch being held on the Thursday.
Thankyou to all those volunteers who help in the Stephanie program. It would not be the same without you!
Till next time, keep cooking.

UNIFORM SHOP NEWS After three and a half years, Kate Harrison is doing her final
term as uniform coordinator. She has done a wonderful
job and we thank her for her time and dedication to the
school uniform shop.
And so, we come to the point where we ask for someone
to come forward and put their hand up to take over the
role from term 3, but become involved during term 2 so
that Kate can bestow her knowledge and wisdom upon you.
This will involve becoming the contact for the shop, filling
orders, doing stock control and ordering, organising
volunteers for the weekly and start of school opening times
etc.
If you are interested, please contact Kate on 0410 420
318 or [email protected]. Or Rebecca Bone
on 0414 564 512 or [email protected].
