Enter Username, Password & Company

Click Login

Moderator Administration Area.To create a group, you must first create participants.

Click Participant Database

Create Participants.Enter a Username and

Password for each participant.

Click Save Details.Highlight a User to

Edit/Delete.Fields highlighted in yellow are optional

It is possible for a Client to view the Focus Group discreetly and be unseen by the Participants.

Create a User as beforeTick the Client boxClick Save Details

Return to Main Menu when complete

Now click Create New Group

Now you have created participants select Create New Group from Main Menu.

Complete fields highlighted yellow.

Click on a User in Participants Database, and click

Add.

Highlight ‘User’ to Remove/Add colour

Once all Focus Group Participants are entered, click Next

This is where you add any material you want to show during your Focus Group.

Browse for your fileThen Upload File

Session References upload Pictures/Images here (.jpeg only) to be used in the Focus Group, allowing you to

gauge participants responses through positive/negative feedback.

Session Logo - Upload your Logo here (.jpeg only 202 x 54 pixels)

Videos - Upload your Videos here (windows media player only)

Reference Files - Upload any word documents here

When you have Uploaded all your References, click Next

This is where you add Scripts, Polls & Rem(reminders) points.All can be pre-loaded prior to running the group.

To add Script, simply type in the text box –highlighted in yellow.

Click Add Script

To add a Poll –1. Select Poll from the Drop down menu2. Type the question in the text box as before and click Add Script3. Click on the Poll question to highlight 4. Type answer option and click Add Option

To create a Rem (reminder)

Select REM from the Drop down menu

Type reminder in text box

Add as beforeWhen you have added all your Script/Poll/Rem, click Finish

You can run a Forum after the Focus Group.

To set it up, highlight the Group name and click View Forum

To add a Topic/Question –1. Type in the text boxhighlighted in yellow.2. Click Create Topic3. Tick to make the Topic active in the Forum

When you are ready to run the group, highlight the group and click Run Focus Group

Waiting room

The waiting room allows the moderator to make sure all participants are online prior to launching

the group. It also gives participants time to get used to the online experience and say ‘Hi’ to each other.

This is the Moderator’s view of the Waiting room.

The Moderator view enables you to see your Script and Poll resource (1), and references (2) uploaded

prior to running the group.

When participants enter the waiting room an avatar will appear in the colour chosen, showing their name.Also the buttons (3) will turn green to show they are

online.

If a Client is present they will show in the Moderator view, but not in the general participant view.

When the group is ready, the

Moderator can start the focus

group by clicking Enter Focus

Group.

Once the group is live all discussion is captured, and a transcript is available at

the end of the group.

Poll reports can also be exported.

To show a session reference file, (image) simply click on [view].

A viewer tab will appear in the discussion log window for participants to click on and view the image.

Follow the same steps to show videos and reference(word) files.

Participants respond by placing a tick or a cross on the image.

The participant selects their answer and clicks

Submit.

When all participants have submitted their answers to the Poll the results are shown in the moderator view – as shown.

If you want to make these results public to the group, click Make Public.

Private messages are able to be sent between the moderator and participants. Particularly useful if a participant isn’t as forthcoming.

The moderator can also block/remove participants if necessary.

To end a group the moderator clicks Stop Group.

When the group has finished, it will take participants straight into the

forum (if set-up prior to the group)

Participants simply click on a topic and can post a reply/thought.

As a moderator you have to click on View Forum to view topic discussions/take part.

A full chat report is available for each focus

group conducted.

Highlight the group and click Get Chat Report.
