riparte il concorso bandistico internazionale Flicorno d’oro, giunto alla sedicesima edizione. dopo un 2013 che ha visto una buona partecipazione di formazioni musicali, ma comunque sottotono rispetto ai numeri del passato, sono trentanove le bande che si confronteranno in questa rinnovata edizione, distribuite nelle varie categorie previste.l’impegno organizzativo espresso in questi mesi dall’associazione Flicorno d’oro, è stato identico al passato e questo è sicuramente garanzia per una buona riuscita della manifestazione. la dire-zione artistica del concorso è sempre nelle mani del maestro daniele Carnevali, mentre la giuria, potrà contare su musicisti di fama e carisma internazionale: alla presidenza il maestro Jan Van der roost, coadiuvato poi dai maestri Giuliano Bertozzo, stefano Gatta, philippe langlet, Johann mösenbichler, igor savinov e José rafael pascual Vilaplana. Colgo qui l’occasione per formulare a tutti loro un sentito grazie per aver accettato di essere presenti a riva del Garda. anche in que-sta edizione, a margine del concorso, la presenza di espositori di strumenti musicali, d’incontri e dibattiti che potranno arricchire tutti quelli che desidereranno trascorrere a riva del Garda un fine settimana all’insegna della musica e della cultura. saranno presenti i maestri italiani andrea Gasperin e alessandro Celardi che potranno raccontare la loro entusiasmante affermazione ottenuta nel 2013 alla world music Contest di Kerkrade (nl).si ripropone, quindi l’incontro e il confronto tra culture musicali diverse, che danno al concorso quella peculiarità e distinzione che lo rendono unico in italia e che fanno della città di riva del Garda una delle capitali europee della musica bandistica. Fogge e divise multicolori come simboli di appartenenza a culture musicali diverse, dietro le quali centinaia di musicisti esprimono il desi-derio di conoscersi, di ascoltarsi. altro dato veramente di nota, la presenza di tantissimi giovani che nelle ultime edizioni hanno avuto l’opportunità di farsi apprezzare per le loro doti artistiche, oltre che dare all’evento un volto nuovo e dinamico. altro momento tradizionale e rilevante del concorso, la serata inaugurale, dove oltre ai saluti di rito, avremo modo di ascoltare presso l’auditorium Chiesa s. Giuseppe di riva del Garda il concerto di apertura tenuto dal Corpo Bandistico "dino Fantoni" di dossobuono (Vr), diretto dal maestro Giuliano Bertozzo. a loro il ringraziamento ufficiale per essere presenti su questo palcoscenico. doveroso ricordare l’impegno e il sostegno della provincia autonoma di trento, nella persona del neo assessore tiziano mellarini, del Comune di riva del Garda nella persona dell’assessore Flavia Brunelli, della regione trentino alto adige, dell’azienda per il turismo Garda trentino, della Federazione Corpi Bandistici di trento e al suo presidente renzo Braus, del Bim, Bacini imbriferi

Giuseppe e a don luigi per averci gentilmente messo a disposizione la sala per il concerto inaugurale, alla formazione dei river Boys di mezzolombardo (tn) diretti da Giovanni dalfovo, che saranno presenti con il loro repertorio alla premiazione. a tutti i volontari che nei giorni del concorso si prodigheranno per la miglior riuscita dell’edizione il mio più sentito grazie. auguro a tutti una felice e serena permanenza a riva del Garda e alle bande iscritte, che il concorso possa regalare nuovi stimoli e rinnovato entusiasmo nel segno della musica.

Once again it’s time for the Flicorno d’Oro International Band Competition, now at its sixteenth edition. After 2013, which saw a good participation of ensembles, but still subdued compared to the numbers of the past, there are thirtynine bands that will compete in this renewed edition, distributed in the different categories.Maestro Daniele Carnevali is confirmed as Artistic Director of the competition, and the interna-tional jury will be chaired by Maestro Jan Van der Roost, assisted by Giuliano Bertozzo, Stefano Gatta, Philippe Langlet, Johann Mösenbichler, Igor Savinov and Jose Rafael Pascual Vilaplana. I wish to take this opportunity to extend my heartfelt thanks to all of them for accepting our invita-tion to be part of the international jury. This edition will also have parallel events such as exhibitions of musical instruments, meetings and debates that will benefit all those who wish to spend a weekend at Riva del Garda in the pursuit of music and culture.The Italian Maestri Andrea Gasperin and Alessandro Celardi will be present to tell about their inspiring success obtained in 2013 at the World Music Contest in Kerkrade (NL).The occasion is an encounter of different musical cultures that distinguish the contest and make it unique in Italy, transforming the city of Riva del Garda into one of the European capitals of band music. Multi-coloured costumes and uniforms are symbols of the different musical cultures of the bands, all united by the wish to make friends and compete with each other. Another truly exciting fact is the presence of lots of young people who took part in past editions, where they had the opportunity to display their artistic talent and give the event a young, dynamic atmosphere.It is also my duty, and a pleasure, to mention the commitment and support of the Autonomous Provincial District of Trento, represented by the new Councillor Tiziano Mellarini, the Riva del Garda Municipality, represented by Councillor Flavia Brunelli, the Autonomous Regional District of Trentino Alto Adige, the Turist organization Garda Trentino, the Trento Provincial Federation of Bands and its new President Renzo Braus, the B.I.M., the Caritro Foundation, and the Italian Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities. Special thanks go to the Cassa Rurale Alto Garda, Yamaha Music Europe represented by Gian Battista Corti, the Riva del Garda Fierecongressi, the active cooperation of the Riva del Garda Band with its President Lino Trenti and Don Luigi, of the Parish of St. Joseph, for having kindly placed at our disposal the hall for the concert. Dieses Jahr findet die sechzehnte Ausgabe des Internationalen Blasorchesterwettbewerbs Flicorno d’Oro statt. Trotz der Wirtschaftskrise, die mehr oder weniger alle europäischen Länder betrifft, wovon auch Italien nicht ausgenommen ist, haben sich 39 musikalische Formationen eingeschrieben. Die künstlerische Leitung des Wettbewerbs liegt immer noch in Händen von Maestro Daniele Carnevali, während die internationale Jury auf den Vorsitz von Maestro Jan Van der Roost zählen kann, mit der Unterstützung von Giuliano Bertozzo, Stefano Gatta, Philippe Langlet, Johann Mösenbichler, Igor Savinov e José Rafael Pascual Vilaplana. Ich möchte bei dieser Gelegenheit allen herzlich dafür danken, daß sie eingewilligt haben, an der internationalen Jury teilzunehmen. Auch in dieser Ausgabe finden neben dem Wettbewerb, Aus-stellungen von Musikinstrumenten, Partituren, Treffen und Debatten statt, die eine Bereicherung für alle jene darstellen, die ein Wochenende in Riva del Garda unter dem Zeichen der Musik und Kultur verbringen möchten.Es wird also wieder ein Treffen von verschiedenen Musikkulturen stattfinden, die dem Wettbewerb jene Besonderheit und Auszeichnung verleihen, die ihn zu etwas Einzigartigem in Italien macht und die, die Stadt Riva del Garda zu einer der europäischen Hauptstädte der Blasorchester-Musik werden lässt. Trachten und farbenprächtige Uniformen als Symbol der Zugehörigkeit zu verschie-denen Musikkulturen, die sich kennen lernen und konfrontieren möchten. Eine weitere erfreuliche Tatsache ist die Anwesenheit so vieler junger Teilnehmer, die bei den letzten Ausgaben die Gele-genheit hatten, sich durch ihre künstlerischen Leistungen auszuzeichnen und der Veranstaltung ein neues und dynamisches Image verleihen.Ein weiterer Höhepunkt des Wettbewerbs ist der Eröffnungsabend, wo wir, abgesehen von der rituellen Begrüßungen, auch Gelegenheit haben werden, im Auditorium Chiesa S. Giuseppe von Riva del Garda dem Eröffnungskonzert mit der Banda "Dino Fantoni" Dossobuono (VR), dirigiert von Maestro Giuliano Bertozzo, beizuwohnen.Bei der Gelegenheit möchte ich mich natürlich auch für den Einsatz und die Unterstützung der Autonomen Provinz Trient, in Person des neuen Assessors Tiziano Mellarini, der Gemeinde Riva del Garda in Person des Stadtrats Flavia Brunelli, der Region Trentino-Alto Adige/Südtirol, des Tourismusverbandes Garda Trentino, des Verbandes der Musikkapellen von Trient und dessen neuen Präsidenten Renzo Braus, des Bim, (Gebirgseinzugsgebiete) Sarca Garda Mincio, der Stifung Caritro, des italienischen Ministeriums für kulturelle Güter und Tätigkeiten bedanken. Ein beson-derer Dank geht auch an die Cassa Rurale Alto Garda, an die Firma Yamaha Music Europe, in Person von Gian Battista Corti, an den Messeverband von Riva del Garda, an die aktive Mitarbeit der Musikkapelle Riva del Garda, an die Pfarrgemeinde S. il crescente apprezzamento che sta accompagnando il Flicorno d’oro è testimonianza di quanto esso sia ormai considerato un'esperienza radicata e autorevole nel panorama culturale interna-zionale. Un evento che apre i confini della nostra provincia ai migliori bandisti europei, gettando un interessante sguardo al futuro e riservando grande attenzione anche al mondo giovanile.Un appuntamento qualificante per riva del Garda e per il trentino, che va oltre i pur impor-tanti significati musicali e offre spunti positivi anche sul terreno della promozione territoriale della nostra provincia e della sua capacità di ospitare e organizzare al meglio eventi di caratura europea. Fin dalla sua prima edizione del 1992, il Flicorno d'oro si è posto l’obiettivo di creare momenti di confronto musicale e occasioni di arricchimento artistico. il costante incremento della parteci-pazione e la crescita del livello artistico dei gruppi in concorso hanno accreditato l’appuntamento facendolo divenire un vero e proprio momento d’incontro e di riferimento per gli appassionati della musica bandistica ad ampio respiro.il ritrovarsi a riva del Garda sta, infatti, divenendo ricorrente in molte formazioni bandistiche provenienti da diversi paesi europei. se a questo poi si affiancano la competenza e la serietà con cui le giurie, che si sono succedute negli anni hanno accompagnato le più diverse interpretazioni nelle varie categorie, è con soddisfazione che possiamo considerare il Flicorno d’oro un vero e proprio gioiellino con cui l’intero trentino, con orgoglio, si apre e guarda all’europa.Un sentito ringraziamento va all’associazione organizzatrice di riva del Garda, agli enti pubblici e privati, a tutti i volontari che con passione e dedizione si stanno spendendo per la piena riuscita anche di questa xVi edizione del concorso e di tutte le iniziative.Un benvenuto ai musicisti partecipanti e ai loro accompagnatori con l’augurio che il Flicorno d’oro possa essere vissuto e ricordato certamente come esperienza artistica di alto livello ma anche come momento pieno di conoscenza e arricchimento culturale personale.

The growing appreciation for Flicorno d’Oro witnesses what it is now considered a validated and deeply rooted event in the international cultural scene. The Autonomous Province of District of Trento has always supported initiatives like these, which combine top cultural quality with an equally high level of hospitality by the public. I am convinced that occasions such as the Flicorno d’Oro are on one hand a desirable “showcase” for the players and more experienced bands, but also opportunities for young people to approach the world of music, encouraging them to join a band to perfect their performance with their chosen instrument. There is also a last, but not less important, aspect, I refer to the importance that band music has in our Region for creating, qualifying and promoting the hospitality of our territory for the great number of people who choose to spend their holidays with us.Since its first edition in 1992, Flicorno d’Oro aims to create discussion and musical opportunities for artistic enrichment. The steady increase of participation and the growth of the artistic level of the bands in the competition have confirmed the value of this competition making it a true meeting point for lovers of band music.The meeting in Riva del Garda is in fact becoming recurrent in music and wind bands from dif-ferent European countries thanks to the famous musicians that in the years were called to judge, and it is with satisfaction that we can consider Flicorno d’Oro a real jewel with which Trentino, with pride, opens and looks to Europe.A heartfelt thanks goes to the organizing association of Riva del Garda, public and private institutions, to all the volunteers who, with passion and dedication work for the success of this sixteenth edition of the competition.A welcome to the participating bands and groups with the hope that Flicorno d’Oro will certainly be lived and remembered as a high-level artistic experience but also as a time full of knowledge and cultural personal enrichment.

Die ständig zunehmende Beliebtheit von “Flicorno d’Oro” ist Zeuge dafür, wie wichtig und ver-wurzelt diese Veranstaltung bereits im internationalen Kulturpanorama ist. Ein Event, das die Grenzen unserer Provinz für die besten europäischen Blasorchester öffnet und einen interessanten Blick auf die Zukunft und auch auf die Welt der Jugend wirft.Eine qualifizierende Veranstaltung für Riva del Garda und das Trentino, die über die Bedeutung der Musik hinaus reicht und positive Anregungen auch im Bereich der Promotion unserer Provinz und deren Fähigkeit liefert, kulturelle Veranstaltungen auf europäischer Ebene zu beherbergen und zu organisieren. Bereits seit der ersten Ausgabe im Jahre 1992 hat sich Flicorno d'Oro das Ziel gesteckt, Gele-genheiten für die musikalische Konfrontation und künstlerische Bereicherung zu schaffen. Die steigende Zunahme an Teilnehmern und die ständige Verbesserung des künstlerischen Niveaus der am Wettbewerb teilnehmenden Gruppen haben der Veranstaltung Glaubwürdigkeit verliehen und sie zu einem wahren Treffpunkt für Liebhaber von Blasorchestermusik gemacht.Das Zusammentreffen in Riva del Garda wird zu einer regelmäßigen Gewohnheit für viele aus verschiedenen europäischen Ländern kommenden Blasorchester. Wenn man dazu noch die Kom-petenz und die Seriosität der Jurien betrachtet, die im Laufe der Jahre die verschiedenartigsten Interpretationen in den diversen Kategorien begleitet haben, so können wir mit Genugtuung die Veranstaltung Flicorno d’oro als ein echtes und wertvolles Juwel betrachten, mit dem sich das ganze Trentino mit Stolz dem Europa öffnet.Ein herzliches Dankeschön geht an die Organisatoren der Veranstaltung von Riva del Garda,

The Flicorno d'Oro, now at its sixteenth edition, also in this year confirms its ability to organize top quality events, with the participation of great Europeans bands. The quality is continuously increasing, the ability to be attractive compared to the systems of national and international bands and the ability to highlight the unifying and educational aspect of music, are demonstrat-ing the viability of the wind music sector in Trentino even in an era of financial crisis.The competition underlines the international prestige it has acquired and rightly rewards the hard work of the entire administrative, artistic and organizational staff.We must thank them loudly for this example of efficiency, together with their passion in offering a wonderful opportunity for the development of band music. The audience and participating bands show their appreciation for these aspects, which con-tribute to creating an atmosphere of a seriously, professionally and impartially carried out job. The level of performances is growing, there is an increasing number of high quality players, this makes the competition attract many lovers of good music. The Trentino Bands Federation hopes that the organization of this great musical event, will continue in the future to further raise the quality of the participating bands.

Flicorno d'Oro ist bereits zur sechzehnte Ausgabe und bestätigt auch dieses Jahr wieder die Fähigkeit, Veranstaltungen von höchsten Niveau, zu organisieren. Eine stets im Steigen begriffene Qualität, die Fähigkeit, für nationale und internationale Blasorchester attraktiv zu sein und die Fähigkeit, den bildenden und gemeinschaftlichen Aspekt der Musik zum Ausdruck zu bringen, sind Beweis für die Vitalität des Blasorchestersektors auch in Zeiten wirtschaftlicher Krise.Der Wettbewerb unterstreicht eindeutig das internationale Prestige dieser Veranstaltungund prämiert zu Recht das Team der künstlerischen und organisatorischen Leitung für deren Tätigkeit. daniele Carnevali, diplomatosi al Conservatorio di parma in tromba e strumentazione per banda e in musica corale e direzione di coro al Conservatorio di Bologna, ha poi seguito corsi di direzione d'orchestra con il maestro piero Guarino. inizialmente svolse attività di trombettista in varie orchestre lirico-sinfoniche quali la "arturo toscanini" dell'emilia romagna e altre, alternandole all'insegnamento di tromba e trombone nei Conservatori di parma e modena.Contemporaneamente si dedicò all'arrangiamento e alla trascrizione di complessi per ottoni e a composizioni originali per bande attraverso le quali si distinse vincendo diversi premi. le sue composizioni si caratterizzano per l’utilizzo di vari generi musicali, per le differenti tipologie d'organico bandistico e per i diversi gradi di difficoltà, grazie ai quali sono spesso utilizzate come brani d'obbligo nei concorsi in italia e in Francia.Carnevali collaborò con molte case editrici come eridanea (mn), molenaar (nl) e dal 1993 a oggi in modo continuo ed esclusivo con scomegna (to).le sue circa trenta composizioni sono state incise in più di quaranta Cd, dieci dei quali registrati dall'autore in italia (ed. scomegna) e in Germania (ed. He graduated in trumpet and band instrumentation at the Conservatory of Parma and in cho-ral music and conduction at the Conservatory of Bologna. He was a trumpet player in various orchestras such as Arturo Toscanini from Emilia Romagna and in the same time teacher at the Parma and Modena Conservatories. At the same time, he worked on transcription for brass ensemble and on original composition for band – for which he has won several prizes at com-petitions. He has worked for publishers as Eridanea (Mantova), Molenaar (Holland) and since 1993 he is a Scomegna composer (Turin). All of his 30 compositions have been recorded on more of 40 CD, 10 by himself in Italy (ed. Scomegna) and in Germany (ed. Carpe Diem). He has conducted several bands such as Sabbio-neta (MN), G. Verdi Città di Parma, "101" of Fabbrico (RE), Corpo bandistico di Albiano (TN), Trentino Wind Band (TN - first prize Valencia 1998) and as guest conductor some prestigious bands like Banda dell’Esercito Italiano, Filarmonica G. Daniele Carnevali hat am Konservatorium von Parma das Diplom Trompete und Instrumen-tierung für Musikkapellen erworben, sowie für Chormusik und Chorleitung am Konservatorium von Bologna. Uno dei più importanti di questi compositori è senza dubbio Jan Van der roost. Jan Van der roost è nato a duffel, in Belgio, nel 1956. Già da molto giovane è stato introdotto tra i nomi di spicco nei repertori di bande, di fanfare e di ottoni e ciò l’ha ispirato a mettere qualcosa su carta. ha studiato trombone, storia della musica e educazione musicale presso l’istituto lemmens a leuven. ha continuato i suoi studi presso il Conservatorio reale di Gent e anversa, dove si è diplomato direttore d'or-chestra e compositore. European wind music today is characterized by a generation of composers who, in the last decades, have enriched this repertoire with interesting original compositions. One of the most important of these composers is undoubtedly Jan Van der Roost. Jan Van der Roost was born in Duffel, Belgium, in 1956. At a very young age he was introduced to the prominent names in the concert, fanfare and brass band repertoire, which inspired him to put something on paper himself. He studied trombone, music history and musical education at the Lemmens Instituut in Leuven. He continued his studies at the Royal Conservatoires of Gent and Antwerpen, where he qualified as a conductor and a composer. Jan Van der Roost currently teaches at the Lemmens Instituut in Leuven, is guest professor at the Nagoya University of Art and at Senzoku Gakuen in Kawasaki (Japan). Besides being a prolific composer he is also very much in demand as adjudicator, lecturer, clinician and guest conductor. His musical activities have taken place in more than 45 countries in four continents and his compositions have been performed and recorded around the world. Early in 2001, a CD containing four of his works for chamber orchestra was released by EMI Classics and the Slovakian Radio Symphony Orchestra (Bratislava) recorded three of his compositions which were released on CD in early 2003 by the German label Valve-Hearts. In 2004, Phaedra Records produced another classical CD of his compositions, containing solo concertos for trumpet, guitar and horn. The famous Sofia Soloists recorded his Concerto Doppio on the Dutch label Aliud Records and the Polish Radio Choir released a CD containing his Contemplations for choir and organ in 2012. In 2013, the prestigious American label Parma Records released the CD Sirius, featuring the renowned St. Petersburg State Symphony Orchestra and containing three of his orchestral works – to name only these. Early 2014, his Sinfonia Hungarica and From Ancient Times were released on a Naxos CD. His list of works covers a wide variety of genres and styles, including two oratorios, a children’s opera, a cantata, a symphony and some smaller works for symphony orchestra, a guitar concerto (dedicated to Joaquin Rodrigo), a clarinet concerto, a concerto for trumpet and string orchestra (dedicated to and commissioned by the Norwegian virtuoso Ole Edvard Antonsen), a double concerto for two clarinets and string orchestra (dedicated to Walter and Anne Boeykens), a Lieder cycle for baritone and chamber orchestra, a clarinet concerto, works for strings and chamber orchestra, chamber music, numerous brass band and concert band compositions (including a three-movement symphony and a 4 movement Sinfonietta for wind orchestra), choral music and instrumental solos. Many of these compositions have been broadcast on radio and TV in many countries and, most of them have been recorded on CD by renowned performers. Jan Van der Roost exclusively composes commissioned works, with commissions coming from Belgium, Hol-land, Switzerland, Italy, USA, Japan, France, Singapore, Austria, Canada, Norway, Germany, Finland, Luxembourg, Hungary, Spain, Colombia and Croatia.

Stefano Gatta studied Clarinetto, Armonia and Contrappunto in the Musical Conservatory of Forli, continuing to Conservatory G. B. Martini of Bologna, with teachers like Costante Fantini, and Luigi Giacomini. He has conducted several camera and symphonic orchestras, from 1990 he is Chief- Conductor of the Military Band of San Marino Republic. Johann Mösenbichler is Professor at the Anton Bruckner Private University of Music in Linz, and until 2006 was conductor of the Symphonic Wind Orchestra at the University of Music and Fine Arts in Vienna, Austria. He was a student of both institutions. As of 2006 Mösenbichler is appointed as the principal conductor of the Bavarian Policeband. Mösenbichler's great love, and the emphasis of his career, is concert wind music. To this end he performs and conducts widely, teaches, and has served as a clinician and adjudicator at semi-nars, workshops and competitions in Asia, the USA, and throughout Europe. Professor Mösen-bichler's leadership in the wind band field has been recognized with various honors including serving as conductor and manager of the WASBE International Youth Wind Orchestra in 1996. He joined the Executive Board of the MID EUROPE in 1997. He was awarded the FAME-AWARD

for "outstanding leadership in the interpretation of contemporary music", and the government of Upper Austria granted him the title "Advisor for Musical Cultivation" in 1998. In the same year he assumed conducting duties for the Euregio-Blasorchester (EBO) in Germany, and the following year was awarded the honorary title of "European Cultural Ambassador". In 2002 he received the MidWest Clinic's "International Award" in Chicago. Since 2004 he has conducted the fan-tastic brass ensemble Sound Inn Brass”(SIB). He has also been honored to conduct prestigious orchestras such as the Sinfonietta Da Camera in Salzburg, the Graz Symphonic Orchestra, the South Bohemian Chamber Orchestra of Budweis and the Oberstorfer Summer Academia.

Seit 1997 ist er Direktoriumsmitglied der MID EUROPE. 1998 erhielt er den FAME-AWARD für „heraus-ragende Leitungen in der Interpretation zeitgenössischer Musik“ (Zitat Urkunde) und die OÖ. Landesregierung honorierte seine Leistungen mit dem Titel „Konsulent für Musikpflege“. 2000 wurde Mösenbichler zum künstlerisch-wissenschaftlicher Leiter der MID EUROPE in Schladming bestellt. Seit dieser Zeit leitet er auch das Euregio-Blasorchester (EBO) in Deutschland. 2001 erhielt er den Ehrentitel „Euregio-Kultur-Botschafter“. 2002 wurde ihm der „International Award der Mid West, Chicago“ verliehen. Igor Savinov is composer and teacher. He studied at the State Conservatory in Tashkent (departments of piano and composition) and at the Moscow PI Tchaikovsky Conservatory. He is president and member of the Board of Directors of the Committee of creative music for wind instruments of the "Union of Composers in Moscow" since 2008. He is a member of the organiz-ing committee of the International Festival of Contemporary Music "Autumn in Moscow". He was honoured various awards, both of the President of Russia in 2013, and of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation in 2007, the Gold Medal of the Union of Composers of Moscow in 2013 and the medal of the Ministry of Russia's Defence in 2008. Fano in Spilimbergo (Italy). In 1991 he was honoured with the Batuta del Mtro. Guillermo Tomás of the National Wind Band of Cuba in La Havana. In 1997 he won the First Prize Gold Baton of the WMC in Kerkrade (Netherlands), In April 2000 the First Prize and the Diplom of “European Conduc-tors’ Champion” of the 1st. European Conductors Competition in Birmingham (UK) organised by EBBA (European Brass Band Association). Er ist Lehrer und Gastdirigent in verschie-denen Ländern, wie Italien, Holland, Portugal, Deutschland und Columbien.1991 erhält er den Preis Batuta del Mtro. Guillermo Tomás della National Wind Band von Cuba in La Havana; 1997 gewinnt er den Ersten Preis Gold Baton WMC Kerkrade (Holland); im April 2000 gewinnt er den Ersten Preis und das Diplom "EuropeanConductors’ Champion" des ersten europäischen Wettbewerbs für Dirigenten in Birmingham (UK), organisiert von EBBA (European Brass Band Association). 2004 erhält er den Prix Euterpe in Orchesterdirektion und Komposition des Blasorchesterverbands von Valencia. 2010 erhält er den Nationalen Musikpreis Ignacio Morales Nievaal Festival de Música de Castilla La Mancha für seine Arbeit im Bereich der Musik für Blasorchester.

Gli abitanti dei nuraghi erano noti per esibirsi in danze cerimoniali, dedicate alle oscure e primitive forze della natura.le tre composizioni sinfoniche, sotto l’unico titolo “nuraghi”, puntano al far rivivere lo spirito e il ritmo di queste danze preistoriche: la danza della terra, la danza dell’ac-qua, la danza del Fuoco.

The Sardinian nuraghi are solemn, megalithic constructions, dating from the Bronze Age. Their history, however, is still an unsolved mystery. The nuraghi inhabitants were known to perform ceremonial dances, dedicated to the hidden and primitive forces of nature.The three symphonic compositions, under the single title “Nuraghi”, aim to reviving the spirit and rhythm of these prehistorical dances: Dance of the Earth, Dance of Water, Dance of Fire.

Die sardinischen Nuraghen sind megalithische Turmbauten, die auf die Bronzezeit zurückgehen.Ihre Geschichte bleibt jedoch auch heute noch ein ungelöstes Geheimnis. In many ways Namasè Rhapsody rides off from the typical style of Jan Van der Roost. The composition is striking for its many references to the music of John Adams. The first movement, minimalist and elegant, precedes the second part of expression for several soloists and band. The third movement, before the energetic final, brings a change of atmospheres through a very accentuated metric system.

Unter vielen Aspekten entfernt sich die Namasè Rhapsody vom typischen Stil von Jan Van der Roost. Die Komposition beeindruckt wegen ihrer zahlreichen Ähnlichkeiten mit der Musik von John Adams. Der erste Teil, minimalistisch und elegant, geht einem zweiten ausdrucksvollen Teil für verschiedene Solisten und Orchester voraus. Der dritte Teil, vor dem energischen Finale, bringt eine Änderung der Atmosphäre durch ein stark akzentuiertes metrisches System.

RAFFAELE CARAVAGLIOS (strumentazione di Stefano Gatta), DISILLUSIONE (fantasia originale)il brano disillusione (1890) di raffaele Caravaglios (Castelvetrano 1864 – napoli 1941) è una fantasia sinfonica, forse l’unico brano di respiro veramente sinfonico del maestro siciliano, poi quasi napoletano d’adozione. Caravaglios nasce in sicilia e acquisisce fama e onori componendo musica e dirigendo la Banda cittadina di alcamo, poi quella di acireale. e’ un periodo cruciale per il mondo bandistico italiano, quello in cui si svilup-perà la cultura dell’organico vesselliano e da formazioni svariate per quantità e qualità strumentale, si giungerà a una codificazione “aurea” dei repertori e della composizione di famiglie e sezioni della banda, la cosiddetta tripartizione di alessandro Vessella. Caravaglios partecipa a questa evoluzione di pensiero, soprattutto come trascrittore e strumentatore di classici.disillusione era nella strumentazione originale un brano cucito probabilmente su misura dell’organico disponibile ad alcamo: infatti mancavano i saxofoni, e abbondavano sezioni flicornistiche, con raddoppi che probabilmente affiancavano strumentario d’ottone di differente costruzione e forma, come ancora era d’uso a fine ottocento nelle bande e nelle orchestre (e pure nello strumentale operistico, da rossini a Verdi) alle nuove famiglie dei flicorni e tube baritonali dell’organico di wieprecht, a quel tempo assoluta novità dalla prussia.l’operazione di stefano Gatta è una vera e propria ricostruzione e riscrittura del tessuto orchestrale riportato alla symphonic Band, in modo da poter rieseguire una composi-zione italiana, storicamente e qualitativamente di ottimo prestigio e valore musicale, calata nelle sonorità della odierna Banda da concerto.

The piece Disillusion (1890) by Raffaele Caravaglios ( Castelvetrano, 1864 - Naples, 1941) is a symphonic fantasy, perhaps the only truly symphonic composition of the Sicilian Maestro. Caravaglios was born in Sicily and acquires fame and honors com-posing music and conducting the Civic band of Alcamo and then the Acireale. It's a crucial period for the Italian bands, with some changes, even Caravaglios takes part in this evolution of thought. Disillusione was in the original instrumentation a composition probably cobbled for the Alcamo staff: indeed the saxophones were missing, and abounded tenor horn sec-tions, with doubles that probably flanked brass instruments of different construction and form, as it was still in use in the late nineteenth century in bands and orchestras (and also in the instrumental opera from Rossini to Verdi) to the new families of tenor horns and baritone tubes of Wieprecht staff, absolute novelty at that time from Prussia.The operation of Stefano Gatta is a real reconstruction and rewriting the orchestral group brought back to Symphonic Band, so you can re-run an Italian composition,

Caravaglios nimmt an dieser Entwicklung teil, vor allem als Arrangeur und Instrumentator von Klassikern.Disillusione war in der Originalinstrumentierung wahrscheinlich ein Stück nach Maß für das vorhandene Blasorchester in Alcamo: es fehlen nämlich die Saxophone und es gibt viele Flügelhorne, mit Verdoppelungen, die wahrscheinlich Blechinstrumente verschie-dener Bauart und Form , wie es Ende des 19. FRANCO ARRIGONI,SUITE APPENNINICAl’idea di comporre un brano per banda, che s’ispirasse a temi della nostra tradizione popolare più autentica, è scaturita dalla consultazione e dall’analisi del bellissimo libro di roberto leydi “i Canti popolari italiani” edito dalla oscar mondadori.i primi due tempi, “peschi fiorenti” e “serenata” ispirati a uno stornello toscano e ad una serenata emiliana, sono caratterizzati da un testo di argomento amoroso e da un metro endecasillabo.il terzo brano “ecco il ridente maggio”, originario di riolunato (modena), nasce dall’an-tica usanza contadina di celebrare il primo giorno di maggio con manifestazioni rituali di vario genere. nella notte che va dal 30 aprile al primo maggio, i maggianti vanno di casa in casa, dove ci sono ragazze da marito e intonano, sotto le finestre, il canto, ricevendone in cambio doni.

The idea of composing a piece for band drawn on our popular and genuine tradition resulted from both discussions and analysis of Roberto Leydi’s book “I Canti Popolari Italiani” published by Oscar Mondadori. In this way the Suite Appenninica was born.The first two parts “Peschi fiorenti” (Flourish peachtrees) and “Serenata”, inspired to a Tuscan popular song and an Emilian serenade are characterized by a love text and an hendecasyllabic metric. The third piece “Ecco il ridente Maggio” (Here comes the charming May), original of Riolunato (Modena) derives from an ancient, country tradition of celebrating the 1st of May with a variety of ritual events. During the night between April 30th and May 1st the may-followers go from door to door - where girls from marriageable age are present – and strike up singing under their windows, receiving some gifts in return.

Die Idee, ein Stück für ein Blasorchester zu komponieren, das sich an Themen unserer echten Volkstradition inspiriert, entstand aus der Analyse des wunderschönen Buches von Roberto Leydi “Die italienischen Volkslieder” herausgegeben von Oscar Mondadori.Die ersten beiden Teile, “Blühende Pfirsichbäume” und “Serenade” , die sich an einem toskanischen Stornello und einer emilianischen Serenade inspirieren, sind charakteri-siert durch einen Liebestext und ein elffüßiges Versmaß.Das dritte Stück “Ecco il ridente maggio” (Endlich der lachende Mai), stammt aus Riolunato (Modena) und entsteht aus dem altem Bauernbrauch, den ersten Tag im Mai mit rituellen Veranstaltungen verschiedenster Art zu feiern. In der Nacht vom 30. April zum ersten Mai gehen die Maisänger von Haus zu Haus, wo es zu heiratende Mädchen gibt und singen unter den Fenstern das Lied, wofür sie mit Geschenken belohnt werden.

GIOVANNI BRUNI,PENTAil titolo penta suggerisce il materiale utilizzato per la composizione di questo brano. diviso in tre sezioni senza soluzione di continuità, ognuno dei temi utilizzati è basato, infatti sulla scala pentatonica, tipica della musica tradizionale asiatica. si apre con un momento aleatorio nel quale il flauto solista espone il primo tema che sarà poi nuo-vamente eseguito dalla banda completa con una sempre maggiore intensità. la parte centrale, più riflessiva, coniuga la scala pentatonica con quella esatonale. l’allegro conclusivo ci ripropone vari elementi compositivi già sentiti nelle due sezioni precedenti sovrapposti all’ultimo tema, che infonde nei musicisti e nel pubblico gioia e festosità. penta ha ricevuto il primo premio al concorso “Centenario di Fondazione” di san martino Canavese.

The title of this work, Penta, suggests the musical topic used for its composition. The piece, divided into three seamless sections, employs themes based on a feature typical of traditional Asian music: the pentatonic scale. In an opening aleatoric segment, the solo flute introduces the first theme, which the full band then reprises with increasing intensity. The central and more reflective section combines the pentatonic scale with a whole tone scale. The final allegro instills in musicians and audience alike a sense of joy and celebration by superimposing compositional material already heard in the two previous sections onto the concluding theme. Penta has received the first prize at the competition for the “Centenary of foundation” of San Martino Canavese.

Der Titel Penta weist hin auf das für die Komposition dieses Stückes verwendete Mate-rial. Unterteilt in drei Abschnitte ohne Unterbrechung basiert jedes verwendete Thema auf der Fünftonskala, typisch für die traditionelle asiatische Musik. Das Stück beginnt mit einem aleatorischen Teil, in dem der Flötensolist das erste Thema spielt, das dann vom ganzen Blasorchester mit steigender Intensität wiederholt wird. Der mittlere, besinnlichere Teil verbindet die Fünftonskala mit der Sechstonskala. Das abschließende Allegro bringt verschiedene, bereits in den beiden vorhergehenden Teilen gehörte Ele-mente, zusammen mit dem letzten Thema, das bei den Musikern und beim Publikum Freude und Fröhlichkeit hervorruft. Penta hat den ersten Preis beim “Hundertsten Gründungsjubiläum” von San Martino Canavese erhalten.

il Corpo Bandistico “dino Fantoni” nasce nel 1921 a dossobuono di Villafranca (Vr). Viene intitolato a dino, un giovane appassionato musicante scomparso in giovane età. attualmente è composto da circa 90 bandisti. attorno alla banda si articola la scuola di musica ed un nutrito ensemble propedeutico alla banda cosiddetta grande. intensa è l’attività concertistica in italia e all’estero, dove il corpo bandistico è gemellato dal 1987 con la musikverein di Bruchmuhlbach. di particolare rilievo nell’attività è il festeggiamento del 75° anniversario suggellato in sala nervi dalla benedizione di papa Giovanni paolo ii. il corpo bandistico organizza incontri con musicisti, compositori e direttori di chiara fama, tra cui marco pierobon, lorenzo pusceddu e Giuseppe Calvino. e’ organizzatore del “primo Concorso provinciale per direttori” svoltosi lo scorso novembre 2013. dal 1992 il Corpo Bandistico “dino Fantoni” è guidato dal maestro Giuliano Bertozzo. ha partecipato a numerosi concorsi ottenendo ragguardevoli risultati:• 1999ConcorsoRegionale,Lonigo(VI):primoclassificatointerzacategoria;• 2001ConcorsoNazionale“LaBacchettaD’Oro”,Frosinone:vincitoreinseconda

The "Dino Fantoni" Band was founded in 1921 in Dossobuono di Villafranca (VR). It is dedicated to Dino, a passionate young musician who died at a young age. It is currently composed of about 90 musicians. Around the band, there are a music school and an ensemble a preparatory path to the superior band. The concert activity is intense in Italy and abroad, where the band has friendship contact since 1987 with the Musikverein of Bruchmühlbach in Germany. Of particular interest in the history of this band is the celebration of the 75th anni-versary with the blessing of Pope Giovanni Paolo II in the Sala Nervi.The band organizes meetings with musicians, composers and renowned orchestra leaders, including Marco Pierobon, Lorenzo Pusceddu and Giuseppe Calvino. In November 2013 they organized the "first provincial competition for conductors".Since 1992, the "Dino Fantoni" Band is conducted by Giuliano Bertozzo and has participated in many competitions achieving remarkable results:• 1999 Regional Competition, Lonigo (VI): first place in the third category;• 2001 National Competition " La Bacchetta D'Oro ", Frosinone: winner of the second
