Specialists in the Art of Baling

Leader in baling technology

The ability to produce top quality bales in

all crop conditions sets Vicon RF balers

apart from all others. Perfect shaped bales,

combined with huge output and outstanding

long durability, ensure that an RF baler will

be a profitable investment. Vicon has many

years of experience in round baler technology

and this knowledge has been put to good

use, to ensure ease of operation over long

working days while achieving consistently

high daily outputs.

Profitable operation

Bale quality and density are fundamental to

the profitable operation of a round baler.

Unique Vicon innovations such as

BaleTrack and Integral Rotor Technology

make a real difference in field performance.

Spare parts supply

Kverneland Group world wide spare parts

back-up is second to none, with a sophisti-

cated distribution network designed to reduce

downtime by keeping lead times to a minimum.

2

Vicon RF balers have the ability to pack the

absolute maximum into each bale, increasing

the potential for profitable operation by

reducing the cost per ton of crop baled,

whether operating in silage, hay or straw.

Service

Vicon RF balers are designed to keep

service requirements to an absolute minimum.

In the event of a breakdown, an extensive

network of professionally trained dealers is

fully qualified to provide expert support.

Integral rotor technology delivers

smooth crop flow and maximum

throughput

A wide, integral feed rotor ensures that the

incoming crop is fed into the bale chamber

in a smooth and constant flow.

Using the latest rotor design with tines arranged

in three rows means the heaviest swaths are

fed through the optional crop chopping

mechanism, leading to speedier field clearance.

Integral rotor - exclusive to Vicon

The RF’s wide feed rotor combines auger

flights with crop gathering tines.

The heaviest and widest swaths are fed in a

constant flow through the OptiCut knives,

giving the reassurance of smooth,

progressive feed and high quality cutting -

plus more bales per hour!

Super cutting quality in virtually all

crops

The 14 knives of the OptiCut crop chopping

system deliver a chop length of 70mm

Knives and scrapers overlap across the

chopping area, delivering reliable results for

the most discerning of palates.

OptiFeed - for those who don’t

need crop chopping

Where chopping is not required, the

OptiFeed system utilises Vicon’s Integral

Rotor Technology on RF 2121 and RF 2125

models. Bulky, dense, high dry matter crops

can be positively fed into the bale chamber

without risk of blockage.

Maximum pickup capacity

Swath collection, from a 2.1m wide,

galvanised pickup - with 61mm tine spacing

on the RF 2125 - efficiently gathers the

densest of swaths at high forward speeds.

Large diameter, height adjustable guide

wheels accurately carry the spring balanced

pickup over every ground contour. A crop

baffle plate above the pickup helps to even

out the flow of material to the integral rotor,

regardless of the crop condition.

Individual knife protection

Knives are protected by springs - any

obstruction deflects knives individually,

which automatically return to the cutting

position when the obstruction has passed.

Fast and easy unblocking

Should a blockage occur, its clearance is

straight-forward thanks to powered knife

retraction and re-engagement using the

tractor’s hydraulic system. RF 2125 models

have the benefit of being able to disconnect

the rotor drive, should premature bale tying

become necessary. (Hydraulic disconnect is

available as an option).

Durability and Quality for the Most Demanding Users

Producing many thousand silage,

hay and straw bales each season

demands an extremely tough and

well thought-out design.

In addition to packing the crop into

bales of consistent size and density,

the baling process has to be as

effective as possible, while being

gentle on the crop. With 14 Bale

Track rollers with a ribbed profile

and an infinitely variable.

PowerLock density control system,

the RF round baler range from Vicon

exceeds this requirement in every

respect.

4

A rugged design, with attention to

detail

Produced from high-grade steel, BaleTrack

profile rollers are constructed from two

overlapped pressed sections which are then

fully seam-welded for maximum rigidity.

Radial support rings located inside each

section create additional strength, while the

end plate and roller stub shafts are forged in

one piece, which ensures maximum

durability in heavy silage crops conditions.

BaleTrack rollers with ribbed

profile

An asymmetrical profile on the bale chamber’s

14 steel rollers ensures a reliable bale turning

process without stoppages - even in dry, short

straw crops. Leaf loss in silage is also kept

to a minimum.

Page 5: Fixed Chamber Round Balers - TO-DA

Built-in safety

The RF 2121 and RF 2125 are fitted with a

wide-angle drive shaft The RF 2125’s extra

wide XL pickup gains greater protection from

an additional slip clutch. Those faced with

large acreages making round bale silage will

appreciate such sophisticated overload

protection features, which would otherwise

restrict forward speed and bale density.

The results can be seen in the field: more

bales per hour are produced by a baler that

can be safely operated right up to its limits.

Ingenious drive layout

Heavy duty drivelines for the bale chamber

rollers and the integral feed rotor have proven

to be the most reliable drive systems for the

toughest of conditions. Each roller’s heavy

duty bearings are bolted onto 3mm plates used

to create the bale chamber’s side walls

(4mm thick on the driven side).

Power is transmitted by heavy duty drive

chains, affording smooth, reliable operation.

5

PowerLock gives consistent bale

density

Strong, rear door hydraulic cylinders work in

combination with a hydraulic lock valve to

produce maximum baling density on demand.

Peak loadings on the rear door are dispersed

by an integral accumulator which contributes

to delivering consistent density throughout

bale formation. Those who need dales of

differing densities can manually set the pressure

valve to suit, up to a maximum of 170 bar.

Quality and Durability - Your Key to Reliability and Low Costs

6

Get the Vicon advantage for more

efficient baling

Forward-looking farmers and contractors pin

their trust on the latest designs and economic

solutions, when it comes to producing high

quality forage. Longer working days and an

increasing seasonal capacity dictate the high

manufacturing standards which today’s

harvesting equipment has to meet. Don’t settle

for anything less than maximum durability,

productivity and reliability – don’t settle for

anything less than a Vicon RF round baler.

In close co-operation with farmers and con-

tractors, our highly motivated team of young

design engineers is constantly developing

new solutions to make home-grown forage

even more cost-effective and with better

feed quality, too. The combination of time-

proven manufacturing processes and expert

staff gives the best guarantee for farmers

around the world. This ensures get the

quality they need from every Vicon product

Designed for harvesting success

The ability to deliver performance and

profitability are key features of Vicon products.

Nowhere is this more visible than with the

RF round baler range. The generous pickup

capacity, combined with integral rotor

technology and a 14-knife crop chopping

system are just a few examples of how Vicon

fixed chamber balers can make your baled

silage so much more effective and economic.

Balers and Wrappers from Vicon

7

Vicon’s silage-making systems are well known

for their cost-effectiveness, profitability and

performance - an example being the Vicon

bale wrapper range, for those who want

perfect wrapping. In addition to results and

high output capability, users can appreciate

the unique versatility of these machines:

they can be carried on 3-point linkages or

towed in combination with a baler.

Eliminating the need for a second tractor or

additional operator can be easily realised.

Perfectly synchronised rotation of the bale

table and twin-satellite wrapper arms ensures

uniform film overlap. Air ingress to the bale is

minimised, as a result of the narrow working

radius of the satellite arms, which keep the

film tightly pressed against the bale.

The best silage quality

Preserving the original crop quality with high

performance machines can only mean one

choice – Vicon. Only when bales are at their

maximum density do they maintain their

shape and quality becomes locked in.

With adequate protection against air, moisture

and pest damage, bales produced by Vicon

equipment will maintain their nutritional value

regardless of how long they are stored.

Automatic Twine and Net Wrap System

Well Packed Bales All Around

AutoPlus - putting you in control

With its clear display and easy to understand

graphics, Autoplus puts you in full command

of the baling process. An audible and visual

alarm signals when the bale is complete and

a choice of automatic or manual start of the

tying process can be selected.

Adjustment of net or twine quantity, selection

of cutting knives or pick-up are all easily

controlled from the tractor seat. Autoplus also

has total and daily bale counters for maximum

convenience. An integral magnet and hook

means the AutoPlus control box can be quickly

installed in the cab without tools.

Impressive density and secure net

wrapping

Using the latest net wrap application system,

the RF balers ensure total coverage right to

the edge of the bale. It’s a system that affords

considerable savings on net consumption,

giving the bale excellent transport and stacking

properties. The baler’s front hood opens wide,

giving easy access to net wrap storage

space - there’s room for two rolls - enough

for a full working day. Twine tying with double

twine application is another cost-saving option.

Both twines criss-cross after a few turns of

the bale to ensure consistent, secure tying –

the result, again, is excellent transport and

stacking properties to ease future rehandling.
