Concept

Top bi-annual FIVB Beach Volleyball property for both men & women combined in one event. This event may be staged in one hosting city or in multiple cities (special requirements apply), ideally located at high pedestrian-traffic and iconic out-door venues.

Host Responsibilities

— The entity will deliver the event for certain mandated aspects such as venue set up, event’s management, promotions, etc. — To bear necessary expenses to secure in-frastructures and manpower for the organization of the EVENT (staff and volunteer).— To cover any kind of levies, taxes or charges on the EVENT.— To bear the cost of any side events linked to sports presentation and main court entertainment.— To bear all costs linked to venue and host city branding.

— To guarantee 5-star hotel capacity for teams, re-ferees and delegates and bear the relevant expenses for FIVB staff, delegates and referees. — To provide and finance local transport for the FIVB officials, participants and guests.— To provide accreditation for the FIVB and its commercial affiliates.— To provide a ticket sale program.— To ensure (through the appropriate local city/regional authorities) full exclusivity within the Beach Volleyball venues perimeter, concerning the staging of other international sports events within 2 weeks before and 2 days after the EVENT. — Proponent undertakes towards the FIVB not to include the EVENT in any cultural, commercial or multi-sport event.

Stadium

Min 8’000 seats in the main stadium (negotiable, for example layout please refer to Annex 1&2) and 2000 seats in any additional venue – the host to cover all related venue cost.

A roof for the accredited VIP, guests and press stand is recommended depending on climatic conditions and forecasts.

Promoters to guarantee a minimum average au-dience of 75% of the venues capacity.

Facilities

— To set up facilities similar to the FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour Handbook (http ://www.fivb.org/EN/BeachVolleyball/Competitions/Wor-ldTour/2015/Handbook.asp) including office space, meeting rooms, VIP / hospitality area, me-dical services and doping control/test facilities if doping tests will be carried out. — The media area and facility should have a di-rect view on Centre Court and be equipped as per FIVB requirements to satisfy the needs of a minimum of 150 journalists. — FIVB sponsors tents, booths, etc. — Sponsors commercial display.— Additional 2 courts for side events.

Courts

— 6 competition courts + 2 warm-up courts for 7 days competition.— 3 competition courts + 2 warm-up courts for 14 days competition.

In case of need the warm-up courts may be used as competition courts for the first days of the competition

Competition Days

— From 7 up to 14 days including one rest day between the pool phase and the single elimina-tion phase.— In a schedule for 7 days : day 1-7 : main drawNo qualification and no country quota play-off tournament are foreseen for the World Cham-pionships.

Competition Format

— 48 teams pool play and 24 teams advancing to the Single Elimination phase.— Competition schedule : as agreed between the FIVB and the organizers— Day 1 – day 4 Preliminary phase pools play— Day 5 – day 7 Single elimination phase

Preliminary Phase : 12 pools of 4 teams each playing Round Robin. The 1st, 2nd and 8th best 3rd ranked teams of the pools (based on wins, sets and points

Single Elimination Phase : 32 teams playing in a single elimination format.

Medal Matches : The winners of the Semi-Final will play the Gold Medal match and the losers of the Semi-Final will play the Bronze Medal match.

Teams Participation

48 teams per gender :— 45 teams per gender as per the FIVB Entry points and Continental qualification 100 days prior to the event.— 1 Wild Card for the Host and 2 Wild Cards for the FIVB.— Compulsory participation for top ranked teams eligible to take part and restrictions for said teams to enter other events at the same time.— NFs are responsible to enter their teams in ac-cordance with the Specific Event`s Regulations.— The NFs are the sole entities responsible to en-ter their respective teams in the BVIS.— Each NF has the authority to decide the teams to enter in an FIVB event.

Country Quota

Based on a 48 teams’ roster, a maximum of six (6) host country teams and a maximum of four (4) foreign teams for each country can enter into the event. The Wild Cards are not affecting the country quota.

2 host country teams per gender granted within the 48 teams roster.

Seeding

Seeding points will be based on the World Ranking Points and it will be calculated on the day of the confirmed list of the participating team. A drawing of lots will be scheduled in the hosting country 90 days before the World Championships to determine the pools composition.

Preliminary Phase : 12 pools of 4 teams each playing Round Robin. Wild Cards will maintain the natural seeding. Best Host country team will be seeded nr. 1 (Pool A) ; 2nd best Host country teams will be seeded N.8 (Pool H) if does not have a better seeding.The 1st, 2nd and 8th best 3rd ranked teams of the

pools (based on wins, sets and points) will ad-vance to single elimination phase.

Single Elimination Phase : 32 teams playing in a single elimination format.

FIVB World Ranking Points

YES – FIVB World Ranking Points are earned by each player competing in recognized Beach Vol-leyball events.

Per Diem

Covered by the organizer :Travel allowance of USD 125 (covering the day before and the day after their mission for travel expenses to the FIVB Delegates.

A per diem of USD 100 and travel allowance of USD 125 (covering the day before and the day af-ter their mission for travel expenses to the inter-national referees (under Neutral and Local Quota).Per diem and travel allowance to auxiliary court officials and court personnel unless otherwise agreed between the PROMOTER and the NF.

Covered by FIVB :A per diem of CHF 225 and travel allowance of CHF 200 (covering the day before and the day after their mission for travel expenses) to the FIVB Delegates.

A per diem of CHF 125 and travel allowance of CHF 200 (covering the day before and the day af-ter their mission for travel expenses.) to the Inter-national Referees and Assistant Referee Delegate (if any).

Per diem to the FIVB Officials performing an ins-pection visit.

International Travels

Organizer to pay for the international travel of the FIVB Delegates, FIVB Officials / Staff and In-ternational Neutral referees.

*Athletes/NFs will be responsible for their travel arrangement and related costs.

Accomodation

Organizer to pay for the accommodation of the FIVB Delegates, FIVB Officials / Staff and Interna-tional Neutral referees.

Strict policy to verify the assignment days for the athletes checking out the next day after elimination.

*All referees can be accomodated in double rooms.

*Athletes/NFs will cover the accomodation cost.

Marketing, Brand Communication & Promotion

— Marketing rights and sponsorship model as specified in « commercial rights » section and de-tailed in rights exploitation plan distributed be-fore awarding of the event.— Host city dressing (airports, stations, pedes-trian zones).— Communication and promotion plan mutually developed with FIVB (awarding, drawing of lots, medal ceremony etc.).— Grass root engagement.— Trophy Tour.

— Complete branding of venue according to the Look Book for Branding Kit usage, including but not limited to display of the EVENT name and logos.— Regular meeting events.— Content management for National Territory for event websites and social media channels.— Entertainment / sports presentation mutually developed with FIVB.— Fan zone & fan experience.— Licensing & merchandizing opportunities.

Site Visits

Facilitate and finance a max. of 3 separate site visits for 2 FIVB Officials / Staff.

Insurance Policy

Civil risk & casualties – minimum USD 10 million

Minimum Technical Matters

— LED boards around (every) Main Court.— 2 giant screens per Main Court.— Provide Hawk-Eye system for every Main Court.— Electronic scoreboards for every Main Court.— Speed gun.

— High speed WiFi internet connection in hotel and offices.— Wifi in the main courts.

9TV PRODUCTION & BROADCAST

Host TV Broadcaster

The Organizer has to ensure that the venue(s) for the EVENT is/are linked to the TV signal of a host TV Broadcaster.

HTVB to agree live coverage of all matches of the host country National Teams (both gender) in host country territory, in addition to semi-finals and all medal matches plus awards ceremonies.

Required Minimum TV Production*

All matches played in each day of the competi-tion (maximum of 10 matches per day).

In case of multiple venue, TV production for min 6 matches per venue per day will be required.

* FIVB to be responsible for the entire TV production.

Required TV Production Set-up*

— International feed 16 :9 in High Definition.— 12 cameras incl. net (high and low), crane, one super slow motion, one ultra-super slow motion (e.g. i-movix), and one spider camera positioned as per official court layout.— Satellite booking : SNG (HD capable with MPEG4 encoder). — News feed.— Additional specific TV requirements as per handbook made available.

* FIVB to be responsible for the entire TV produc-tion set-up.

Commercial Rights

— Use of the marks of the FIVB and the event.— National sponsorship rights according to FIVB commercial sponsorship exploitation program :

— Event dedicated website.— Support in digital.— Digital video clipping.— Administrative assistance & Professional expertise.— International promotion through several commu-nication means (i.e. FIVB website, press releases, so-cial media).— Branding kit (only design and not production,
