MAGNET CARSConnect two wheels together using a KNEX rod.
Add one magnet to the rod.
Try to move the vehicle only using another magnet.
What happened?
Did it move?
Can you make the vehicle go backwards?
Journal your findings!
RACE TRACK
Set your track up on a few books.
Place your car at the top of the ramp and let it go.
What happens? Where did it stop?
Put a piece of aluminum foil at the end of the ramp.
Race your car again. What happens?
Put a piece of sandpaper at the end of the ramp.
Race your car a third time. What happens?
Can you explain why this occurred?
Use your journal to explain your findings.
ENGINEERING LAB
Design your own roller coaster in your journal.
Talk with a partner about your design.
Using one pool noodle and painters tape, design your group roller coaster.
• It must start at an incline,
• Carry a marble
• Have a loop
• Land safely.
