the prevailing social conditions while respecting the perspectives, attitudes and

rationality of the Afghan nationalists.

Findings from the Interaction:

From the discussions held, the researcher has reached to the following

conclusions:

1. That Afghanistan is a multi-ethnic nation and the nation is known for its

physical might and valor because of the Pashtuns.

2. That the clash between the different ethnic groups occurring because of

civilizational differences is still prevalent but not bloody.

3. That the Pashtun community is still the dominant ethnic group in the nation

and has an upper hand in the administrative roles of the nation.

4. Those ethnic groups following the Sunni sect of Islam have a better social

stand in the nation and impose and influence their ideology of the Islam.

5. That the impact of the extremist ethnic groups, of that of the Mujahideen

and Taliban is still experienced by the society, although they are not overtly

ruling the nation.

6. That there are no foreign troops especially the US occupying the nation and

controlling the social life of the people.

7. That the social life has improved much with the ruling government trying to

bring and accommodate developmental plans, especially since the nation

has been included in the SAARC group.

8. That the issues of the nation are discussed on the international agenda of

world leaders, but implementation of the developmental action plans is still

in a state of flux.

9. That whether the Taliban will resume and take siege of the nation is

doubtful.

10. That the role of the Conservatives and traditionalists in influencing the

ruling government and resisting all kinds of modern approaches towards

growth of the nation is still prevalent.

11. That after the fall of the Taliban the status of women improved

significantly.

12. That the international community during the NATO Summit 2012 came

forward to support Afghan security forces but women’s issues took a back

seat.

13. Violence against women and girls at the domestic level still continues and is

justified on the pretext of religion and providing protection.

14. Systems of police and the judiciary are not organized and still remain weak;

they are also inaccessible for the women.

15. That the Evaw Law 2009 a decree signed by President Hamed Karzai came

as a safe haven for women to have a better status, but not all issues on

gender inequality are addressed.

16. However, access to schools, academics and profession is seen, still the

status of women is worst among all the nations of the world according to

UN gender inequality status.
