    General Advice & Execution At your request, an HSBC Financial Planner provides you with general information on a financial product, or makes an investment transaction for you.

    Theres no charge for general advice. Investment transactions we complete for you are charged between 1% 2.5% pa of your investment balance, tiered according to its size.

    Personal Product Advice Directed by you and considering your current situation and goals for the future, an HSBC Financial Planner advises you on financial products suitable for your needs.

    Personal advice varies in price depending on the complexity of the advice provided. Expect to pay between $1,500 $4,000. We may also charge an implementation fee between 1% 2.5% of investment balance.

    Financial Planning After reviewing your current circumstances and goals for the future, an HSBC Financial Planner works with you to build a plan to help you grow wealth.

    Fees for financial planning are tiered depending on the complexity of the advice provided. Expect to pay between $5,000 $8,000. We may also charge an implementation fee between 1% 2.5% of investment balance.

    To receive ongoing financial advice and administrative support.

    Ongoing Advice An HSBC Financial Planner provides regular investment portfolio and/or financial plan reviews to keep you on track.

    Ongoing advice is priced according to the frequency of portfolio reviews (quarterly, semi-annually and annually) and/or complexity of plan reviews. Expect to pay between $2,500 $10,000 pa. You can opt out of these services at any time.

    Financial Services Guide (FSG)

    This lists the products and services we provide and what to expect in a relationship with us.

    Personal Financial Record (PFR)

    This outlines your personal details, current financial position and future goals. We use this document to prepare personalised advice for you.

    Statement of Advice (SOA)

    This is a record of the financial plan prepared for you by a financial planner. It lists your goals, the advice, the risks of implementing the plan and relevant fees.

    Product Disclosure Statement (PDS)

    This details the features of a specific financial product. We will issue you a PDS when you request specific product information.

    Terms of Ongoing Service (TOS)

    This details the terms and conditions of an Ongoing Service Arrangement. You will need to sign one of these to receive ongoing service from HSBC.

    Record of Advice (ROA)This records the advice provided by an HSBC Financial Planner in accordance with the plan laid out in a SOA.

    Customer Directed Transaction (CDT)

    If you instruct us to carry out investment transactions of your behalf, this arrangement will be recorded in a CDT.

    We can advise you on the following products including:

    transaction and savings accounts

    foreign currency accounts, and

    term deposits.

    Wealth building

    interests in managed investment schemes including investor directed portfolio services

    managed funds

    wholesale bonds

    margin loans, and

    investments available through platforms.

    Personal protection

    general insurance products, and

    investment, life and life risk insurance products and any products issued by a Registered Life Insurance Company that are backed by one or more of its statutory funds.

    Retirement planning

    superannuation

    self-managed superannuation funds (SMSF), and

    annuities.

  • INSTRUCTING YOUR FINANCIAL ADVISER

    You can provide instructions to your financial adviser

    in person, or through email or fax. We may require your

    signature for verification.

    We may also act as agents of other companies to

    recommend their products to you. In this case, those

    companies rather than HSBC are bound by the terms

    of their products. You will need to contact the relevant

    company to find out how to give them instructions.

    Statement for each product.

    OTHER FEES AND CHARGES PAYMENTS FROM PRODUCT PROVIDERS

    HSBC manages, markets, issues and provides products and

    services, including products from external product issuers.

    When you invest in a product offered by us, we will receive

    fees in relation to your investment. We also receive initial

    and ongoing fees from insurance product providers when

    you purchase a product we have recommended for the

    duration of the period that you hold it.

    Details of fees and charges we receive for issuing products

    are contained within the relevant Product Disclosure

    Statements or the Statement of Advice or client fee

    agreement provided by a financial adviser.

    HSBC is exempt from the requirements of s912B of the

    Corporations Act 2001, however the compensation

    arrangements necessary under that section are in place.

    If you purchase a life insurance product we recommend to

    you, we may receive commissions of 30%-130% upfront,

    and 10%-30% ongoing from the product provider.

    ADVISER REMUNERATION

    In addition to base salary, our employees may also receive

    bonuses and other rewards based on a remuneration

    incentive scheme which may (to a limited extent) have

    regard to recommendations and referrals they make.

    PRIVACY

    In accordance with the Privacy Act, we keep information

    about you confidential, except in certain situations, such

    as where disclosure is:

    compelled by law (e.g. a disclosure to a court which

    is required by a subpoena)

    necessary to protect our interests

    made with your consent; or

    or where we have a duty to the public to disclose.
