Presentation Part 1 , 2, 3, 4, 5 (Optional) Diagrams Data Dictionary User Screens/Forms Reports Testing Final Key Points Expected Questions (Uncommon) Coding tips </li> <li> 3. Before Presentation: Arrive at the college 1 hour before the presentation. If in case you are not having partner select some friend for help with whom who can coordinate easily (Dont wait for last moment). Before entering the hall drink some water and keep one bottle outside the hall also. Before entering the hall do take the permission. Carry all the reports copies with you before entering the hall. </li> <li> 4. Before Presentation: Very important make sure that all the copies are identical. 90% PPT are generally in the same flow as your Documentation if not then try to somehow match. Before starting the presentation hand over the report to the jury members [each one of them] its your responsibility. Make sure the PC is having all the required documents in a single folder. </li> <li> 5. Before Presentation: PPT [2003] Report [Doc/PDF] == Hard Copy of Report Diagrams [Proper Format] Should be easily be open in the PC [Necessary software available at the PC or not check it up] Carry all other documents which you have studied for this project [Documents, Papers, Books, Material if possible, Feasibility study reports, Any supporting documents for the project you have used]. </li> <li> 6. Before Presentation: Store all these data in single Folder [Group No.] = Keep multiple copy of this in your pen drive, in your partners pen drive, in zip format, in your Email account [Try to open that also] and finally in the college PC also. Before starting the ER-Diagrams/UML (OR) DFD/Data dictionary /Forms (Different Users) / Reports keep a blank page specifying the title. </li> <li> 7. Before Presentation : Please dont copy data in-front of the jury members. Speak loudly, clearly and slowly so that examiners can hear you and get time to digest / understand what you are trying to convey. If any question is asked, listen carefully; understand the question and then answer. Before starting presentation make sure you PPT is on and that too in presentation mode. Before Presentation : All these data should be equivalent : Slide Report Project Title and details you have specified at the college. Explain or convey your point of view without any fear but do not argue too much. Readily accept if you do not know something and do it fast. </li> <li> 9. Before Presentation : All PPT must have the Numbering at the bottom. PPT font size should be standard =&gt; There should be no animation effects in the PPT slides it will create un-necessary confusions for you partner. PPT should be standard color it should not too much dark or light [Try to you default PPT templates available]. Double check the links in the PPT are working properly or not. </li> <li> 10. Presentation Part 1: Second task clearly specify your name your partner name [Roll.Title.Internal &amp; External Guide] avoid reading these details from slide. [Never ever make mistakes in Title.ExternalInternal Guide Name] Total time allotted to you for your presentation is only 20 Minutes*. Never forget to add [MrMrs..Miss in front of the Internal/External Guide] Keep proper title for every form / screen </li> <li> 11. Presentation Part 2 : Problem Definition [2 Slides 2 Minutes Max] Company Profile Try to have only 1 slide for company details [Main points: Name Year of establishment Multinational company No. of branches Areas in which company is working No. of employees in your company. [30 50 Seconds Max] </li> <li> 12. Presentation Part 3 : 2 to 3 Slides for the explanation of the following details: [2 Minutes] Existing/Current System :Problems with system/ Need of your system. Scope of your project / Proposed System and its features Hardware and Software Specification (Version): Highlight new / latest / different concepts / ideas / technologies used in the project. </li> <li> 13. Presentation Part 4 : Analyses and estimated time: Gantt Chart: Convey about the time spent on understanding new technology or tools like .Net/ J2EE, J2ME/Php etc. Convey if you have done something more than the material included in the project report (like some other minor project due to the insistence of the company) </li> <li> 14. Presentation Part 5 (Optional): 1 Slide for details explanation for the No. of users and working of the project [If required Complex projects] try to explain the flow of you System only required for complex projects. [1 Minute] </li> <li> 15. Diagrams : ERD DFD OR UML Use case Class Sequence Activity State </li> <li> 16. Diagrams (Use case): First diagram is the global use case diagram prepared to show ALL the actors and their main functionalities If required then explain individual diagrams base on either module wise or actor wise individual diagrams are prepared. [Actor is Preferred] This is required if in case the Global use is too much complicated. But prepare a link in the Global use case ask the jury member if they say yes they want to see the individual diagram then show that. [1 to 3 Minutes] </li> <li> 17. Data Dictionary : Data dictionary in the report should match with the PPT (avoid last movement changes). Data dictionary should match with the ER Diagram this is 90% chances you will get the questions. Tables should be properly be arranged that parent table first and related tables with that. You must define the size property for every column after giving due thought. </li> <li> 18. Data Dictionary : All tables (almost) must have properly defined primary keys/foreign key and the documentation must clearly indicate the primary key. Normalize the database. Keep tables like: City master State master Country master Salutation master Qualification master etc. </li> <li> 19. Data Dictionary : Store the passwords in encrypted form. If any De-normalization for your database please do mention that with valid reason. Use Stored Procedures in your project and do mention that (No. &amp; purpose). </li> <li> 20. User Screens/Forms : Keep validations wherever possible. Show mandatory fields with red stars. Try to highlight the important fields with special symbols in the PPT and try to explain that properly. [Form with many fields] Short forms/special letters please do mention the full form or details in the PPT. Flow of the form should be proper. (Different user point of view/Single User). </li> <li> 21. Reports : Think of at least few MIS reports i.e. summary of transactions e.g. Monthwise, Salesmanwise, productwise, territorywise sales or departmentwise salary, locationwise, departmentwise expenses, etc. Report should be dynamic it should allow user to select from to dates, all or some limited departments, locations, products, criteria like</li></ul>
