Swimming in a Vintage Lap of Luxury

I have designed a vintage inspired swimsuit line that incorporates a modern feel. The swimsuits include a new technology which allows for people to tan through their suits.

The nature of my line is fun, classic styles made in bright “candy” colors. The entire line is constructed of a new fabric called Microsol® which is an extremely porous knitted fabric that provides approximately the same amount of sun protection as spf 6.

This line is for any woman between the ages of 18 and 50. The classic and vintage designs will attract the older women and the bright colors and modern edge will catch the eyes of the younger, more fashion conscious women. The new Microsol® fabric is still pretty hard to produce and therefore, the line will be a little more expensive than most bathing suits. However, the suits should be affordable for most middle class women.

This line is needed because, in my opinion, swim and beach wear is in a rut where if you’ve seen one, you’ve seen them all. I want to open a creative pathway to art through my bathing suits.

The younger age group will look more educated about fashion and its history when they wear on of my suits. The older age group will get to feel hip and in style with my bright colors and modern twists. The new fabric is also beneficial for models, actresses, singers, or even your everyday girl who is embarrassed by obvious tan lines.

This is interesting to me because the classic suits, or the “old fashioned”, can often be very flattering and eye catching. My line will expand on the “outdated” and turn it in to something anyone could wear in this day and age.

I have researched the shapes and styles of the iconic classic swimsuits from every decade of the 20th century, and turned the best styles into a suit for the present day.
