CUSTOMER SERVICE BULLETINThe Win-Holt Film Wrappers are used to apply a thin plastic film or protective plastic covering over packaging. They consist of a film dispensing mechanism, a heated cut off rod, and a heated plate for sealing the film.

DISPENSING MECHANISMS: AXLEThe Dispensing Mechanisms of film is axle. The wrappers areavailable as table models for one or two rolls of film or a console model for three rolls mounted on axles. Models accept film roll widths up to 18”. Contact your film supplier for application information regarding film thickness and color.

HEATED CUT OFF RODThe Heated Cut-off Rod cuts the desired length of film. Thetemperature is factory preset and controlled electronically.

HOT PLATE SEALINGThe Hot plate is an aluminum casting with a bolt-on element. The operator seals the ends ofthe film on the Hot Plate. The thermo-stat which is mounted under the hot plate is adjusted by a plastic knob mounted on the right side of the hot plate. Adjustment ranges from”off to a maximum of 410°F. Temperature setting is determined by film thickness, air temperature (kitchen or cooler) and operator’s speed.

Loading The Film Axle

LOADING THE FILM AXLE:

1. Loosen all Wing Nuts. Swing out right and left Bearing Blocks.

2. Lift out the Axle Assembly. Unscrew Wing End Cap, position Pin End Cap for correct fi lm width, secure with Pin and 0-Ring.

3. Position the cardboard core of the Film Roll against the taper of the Pin End Cap. Make certain thatthe fi lm will dispense from the bottom ofthe roll.

4. Replace Wing End Cap and Screw tightly.

5. Replace Axle and Film onto the Lower Bearing Blocks. Swing Upper Bearing Blocks back into place. Tighten and adjust Wing Nuts for desired fi lm tension.

FILM ROLL AXLE ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Install Bearing Block Assembly (A) on the left side of Base, line up holes and insert Carriage Bolts (B) and tighten using Wing Nuts (C).

2. Repeat step (1) on right side of Base.

3. Loosen all Wing Nuts (D) on Bearing Blocks on both sides to loosen top of Bearing Blocks, and then rotate top to expose Film Roll Axle Slots.

4. Install Film on Film Roll Axle (F), tighten Core Adapter Wing Nut (G), and insert in slots in the bottom of the Bearing Blocks.

5. Rotate the top of Bearing Block to cover shaft of Film Roll Axle, and tighten Wing Nuts (D) to the required tension.

TESTING THE CUT-OFF ROD:

1. Disconnect the “red” CUT-OFF ROD wires from terminals 4 and 5.

2. Using an ohmmeter, measure the resistance across “red” terminal wires, reading should be approx. 195 Ohms. If there is no reading - replace CUT-OFF ROD..

Apparent Problem CheckPoint Solution

Cut-off rod fails to heat properly Test the cut off rod. Use procedure described on page 6. Check Fuse.

Replace if necessary

Hot plate Fails to Heat or Overheats Visually inspect the wire andconnections under the hot plate forburning and replace if burnt.Visually inspect the lead on the heating element for burning and replace if burnt.

If burning or short circuitingdoes not show, replacethe thermostat. If burnt replace element.

Tools Required:#2 & 3 Philips Screw drivers10mm & Bmm wrench- (Socket; open end or Box)

Assembly Procedure:1. Unpack and arrange all the parts on the fl oor.2. Identify each part & its quantity with the parts list on page 12.3. Assemble Loosely (2) Item #5 & (1) Item #6 to the Side frame Item #1 with (3) Bolts Item #7 as shown.4. Assemble the (4) rollers Item #3 to the side frame in Step #3 above.5. Assemble loosely Side frame Item #2 with (3) Bolts Item #7. Note; It will require moving the Rollers & Spreaders assembled in Steps 3 & 4 individually to align with the pins & cutouts in Side frame Item #2.6. Tighten all (6) bolts Item #77. Assemble Items #9 & #10 to the Film Axle Item #8 (3) ea. in accordance with the size fi lm being used.8. Assemble the (3) Film Axle Assemblies to the side frame as shown. Loosen the wing nuts before assembly & retighten after assembly.9. Assemble the WHSS-3 sani Sealer unit Item #11 with(6) Screws & nuts Items #s 12 & 13 Tighten hardware after all screws and nuts are assembled.10. Place the assembled unit in the location of operation & adjust the leveling legs accordingly.11. Plug the unit into a 120V 15 ampere outlet & follow Operating Instructions in the product manual.
