Colours

The use of fire sparks used on the image tells the audience that the film could be an action genre film. The fire connotates with danger and death which gives the audience an insight to what the film could possibly be about.

Guttenbergs design rule of thirds principle is used as the character is situated just over half of the image. This tells the audience that he is a main character in the film. The proxemics of the character also shows the genre of the film as he is stood showing his dominance and masculinity.

Text relates to the film giving the reader insight into the film. Giving details on what happens in the film and information on how the film was produced and written. This persuades the reader to go and watch the film.

More information on the film, when it is being released and some more information about the previous film ‘Taken’

‘Look Closer’ box gives more information on how the film was made and ‘sneak previews’ on what the audience could possibly see in the film.

Informality is shown through the use of colours of Blue and Black and also the sans serif fonts which also reflect the genre. – Although a formal balance is achieved through the use of equal amount of text and image on each side of the page.

Iconography on this page shows the narrative of the film. The colours used e.g. Blue connotates infinity which could perhaps show that the film goes to all extremes.

Information on which the film was produced by, when it is released and detail of what an intended audience could possibly see in the film.

Synopsis on the film gives a possible audience an insight into what they could see in the film. This could build its intended target audience.

Image objectifies the male character, shows him as a sex object which also gives an insight into the film. Proxemics of the character shows that he is perhaps a dominant male as he is shown as masculine.

Sans serif font shows informality of the review as it is simply laid out in columns. Layout shows the narrative of the film.

Film attracts a female audience through the use of iconography and text/language used. The language used reflects on how a woman would objectify a masculine character e.g. “since grooming girls for stripping”.

Rhetorical questions used to make the audience think in more detail about the film e.g. “Isn’t it every young lads dream to rip off his Velcro trousers and dry hump?” This targets a younger audience as they are referring to a boy as being a ‘lad’.

‘Let’s face it, he’s taking off his clothes again’ also attracts a female audience as it is almost inviting them in to watch them take their clothes off.
