TUESDAY the 16th of JanuaryFESTIVAL OF OUR PATRON SAN FULGENCIOAt sunrise: Firing of rockets and bell ringing to announce the start of the San Fulgencio fiesta.9:00 am Mass in honour of our Patron9:30 am Entrance of the San Fulgencio Banda Union Musical, parading around the local streets12:00 noon SOLEMN MASS1:00 pm Traditional parade to collect the chicken, accompanied by the San Fulgencio Union Musical.8:00 pm SOLEMN PROCESSION in honour of our Patron San Fulgencio.To finish there will be a firework show.

VIERNES 17 Enero.FESTIVIDAD DE NUESTRO CO-PATRÓN SAN ANTONIO ABADAl Amanecer disparo de cohetes y volteo de campanas anunciando la festividad de San Antón.9:00 horas: Santa Misa en honor a nuestro Co-Patrón, con la tradicional Bendición del Pan.9:30 horas: Entrada de la Banda Unión Musical San Fulgencio, recorriendo las calles de la localidad.12:00 horas: SANTA MISA SOLEMNE y Bendición del Pan.17:00 horas: BENDICIÓN DE LOS ANIMALES, “matanza del cerdito de San Antón” y rifa.Entrega de otro “cochinillo” para el próximo año.20:00 horas: SOLEMNE PROCESIÓN en honor a San Antonio Abad.Al finalizar Fuegos artificiales.

PROGRAMA DE FIESTAS PATRONALES ENERO 2014EN HONOR A SAN FULGENCIO Y SAN ANTÓN

Queridos vecinos:

De nuevo se aproximan las fiestas en Honor a nuestro Santo Patrón San Fulgencio y Co-patrón San Antón. Y para mí es un placer poder dirigirme a todos vosotros con motivo de fechas.

Fiesta: palabra de sosiego y merecido descanso, que llena de alegría a las familias y amigos a reencontrarse cada año en estos días. Dejemos fuera nuestros problemas y preocupaciones de nuestra vida cotidiana viviendo el presente. “Vivamos Nuestras Fiestas”.

En nombre de la Corporación que presido os deseo que disfrutéis de las fiestas en honor a nuestro patrón y co-patrón de forma plena, así como desearos que tengáis un feliz 2014 y que paséis agradables días junto a vuestras familias y amigos.

Por último quiero dirigir mi pensamiento junto con el vuestro, hacia aquellas personas queridas que no estarán con nosotros en esto días.

Once again the festivities in honour of our Patron and Co-Patron Saints San Fulgencio and San Antón are close and it is a pleasure for me to be able to address you due to this celebration.

Fiesta: word of calm and deserved rest, that fills up with joy the families and friends who get together every year during these days. Lets leave apart our problems and the worries of our daily life by living the present. “Let’s enjoy our feast!”

On behalf of the Corporation that I preside I wish you to highly enjoy the festivities in honour of our Patron and Co-Patron Saints, as well as wishing you a happy 2014 and to spend pleasant days together with your family and friends.

And finally, I would like to address my thoughts and yours to all the loved ones who will not be with us in these days.

Año nuevo 2014,recién estrenado y de nuevo las fiestas patronales de nuestro pueblo, en honor de San Fulgencio, titular de este municipio y de nuestra Parroquia y San Antonio Abad.

Días de celebración, de alegría, de mirar también a aquellos que pueden aportarnos algo en nuestra vida de cada día.

Les llamamos patronos. Un patrón, sobretodo en confección, es un modelo que se pone encima de la tela, para sacarlo igual. Para nosotros San Fulgencio y san Antonio Abad, son modelos y algo podemos imitar de sus vidas: su entrega, su fe, su bondad, su valentía, su fortaleza……actitudes y virtudes que no pasan de moda y que a veces necesitamos ahora más que nunca en estos momentos y circunstancias que nos toca vivir.

Son las primeras fiestas patronales de Enero que paso con vosotros, desearos a todos unas felices y buenas fiestas y que San Fulgencio y

San Antonio Abad nos protejan y nos alcancen de Dios lo que de verdad necesitemos en nuestra vida.

Brand new year 2014, and one more year the festivities of our village in honour of San Fulgencio, Patron Saint of this village and Patron of our Parish church and San Antonio Abad.

Days of celebration, days of joy, days of looking towards those who can contribute something in our daily life.

We call them Patron Saints, “patronos” in Spanish, which means “pattern”, which in dressmaking is a model that is put on top of the fabric to make it the same. For us, San Fulgencio and San Antonio Abad are models and there is something we can copy from their lives: their dedication, their faith, their kindness, their courage, their strength of spirit… Attitudes and virtues that are never old-fashioned and now we need them more than ever, in these moments and circumstances we are going through.

These are the first January Patron festivities I’m with you, I would like to wish you all a happy and good festivities and may San Fulgencio and San Antonio Abad protect us and may God provide us with what we really need in our lives.
