I couldn’t find an example of a fault in my field research, instead I posted a picture of the San Andreas Fault. It is a continental transform fault. The motion of the fault is right-lateral strike-slip, which is horizontal.

WeatheringAn examination of these tombstones shows chemical weathering- either dissolution, which is water wearing down the stone, or hydrolysis- which is water reacting with the rock and tearing it apart.

This rock also shows signs of both mechanical and chemical weathering, under the guises of unloading- when pieces of rock break off, and dissolution- which is where water wears down a rock.

Here is an examples of erosion at the King’s River, from a higher point on the land where the water may come up to when it is summer time.

A continental location, leading into a transition to a marine area.

A transitional area, sort of like a beaching area, leads into the water.

Showing the whole area, continental to marine.

A bridge, a practical use of geology, something that needs the earth to make. If there was no river there would be no need for a bridge, but it needs to extend connected to the land to be there.
