The Department of Allied Health offers an associate’s degree in Radiologic Technology and a bachelor’s degree in Medical Diagnostic Imaging with two areas of emphasis: broad imaging spectrum and sonography. The radiologic and sonography programs require a three semester clinical internship. Fort Hays State University offers one of the few entirely online MDI degree completion programs in the country. The Associate of Science in Radiologic Technology degree prepares individuals in the use of ionizing radiation and to sit for the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist Examination. The Bachelor of Science in Medical Diagnostic Imaging builds upon the associate degree in Radiologic Technology and provides cross-training in computed tomography (CT), diagnostic medical sonography (DMS), cardiovascular-interventional technology (CVIT), mammography (M), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), and/or bone densitometry (BD). Radiographic EquipmentReplacement of the existing, outdated unit that requires numerous repairs.

Computed Radiographic SystemHardware and software to digitize and store x-ray images. The system eliminates the use of radiographic film and chemical processing.

Echocardiography Ultrasound SystemUltrasound equipment with the echocardiography imaging package and echocardiography transducer. This machine will also have general and vascular capabilities.

DataCat CT Simulator Software LicensingSoftware licenses for computers in the student research and study lounge.

Medical Imaging PhantomsPhantoms simulate internal conditions on the human body and are used as a teaching tool.
