FHE IDEA: Thankful Tree Here are Instructions for the Thankful Treeyou saw at our Station: Step 1Make the Tree! I decided to try and make something cute that could be considered a decoration, one I could have in my home all of the time! I mean, why not?! Its a great reminder for the kids, and it will give them something to look forward to with the change of each season, or upcoming holidays. I also think that this helps us, as a family, to always be thinking about what we are grateful for. I picked up some branches from an open field by our house, spray painted them and put them in a burlap sack, then a vase. Step 2Make the leavesor ornaments. Each season or holiday you can come up with something new! Pictured are a few I have done. Itll be fun to come up with new leaves.Heres an idea. I think it would be special to change these up for each family members birthdays, with their favorite color or hobby and have each family member write down, on each item, what they appreciate about that person.

FHE IDEA: Thankful Tree

Here are Instructions for the “Thankful Tree” you saw at our Station:

Step 1– Make the Tree! I decided to try and make something cute that could be

considered a decoration, one I could have in my home all of the time! I mean, why not?! It’s

a great reminder for the kids, and it will give them something to look forward to with the

change of each season, or upcoming holidays. I also think that this helps us, as a family, to

always be thinking about what we are grateful for. I picked up some branches from an

open field by our house, spray painted them and put them in a burlap sack, then a vase.

Step 2— Make the “leaves” or ornaments. Each season or holiday you can come up with

something new! Pictured are a few I have done. It’ll be fun to come up with new “leaves.”

Here’s an idea. I think it would be special to change these up

for each family member’s birthdays, with their favorite color

or hobby and have each family member write down, on each

item, what they appreciate about that person.

Page 2: FHE IDEA: Thankful Tree - BYU Women's Conference · Here are Instructions for the “Thankful Tree” you saw at our Station: Step 1– Make the Tree! I decided to try and make something

Step 3– Hold a Family Home Evening

centered around Gratitude, ask each

member family member to write down what

they are grateful for, either on the “leaf”

or on a sticky label that can be attached.

Enjoy your tree throughout the season, then

switch it

up.
