DAY 1: Overnight flight to Milan, Italy.

DAY 2: BOLOGNA – Arrival in Milan airport. Meet your travel director and drive to Bologna, the gastronomic capital of Italy. To Italians, Bologna is known as “The City of Two Towers.” Bologna is known worldwide as the city of lasagna, tagliatelle, tortellini, and Bolognese sauce. Dinner will be provided.

DAY 3: BOLOGNA – A guided tour of Bologna. Highlights include the extensive town center, which is one of the best-preserved Medieval centers in all of Europe. Included is a visit to the Ducati Museum to admire the collection of Ducati motorcycles and some early non-automotive products. Dinner is on your own this evening. One suggestion is to try local fresh pasta with signature ragù sauce.

DAY 4: BOLOGNA – An excursion to Modena, a gastronomic center of Italy. You will visit a dairy that produces the local Parmigiano cheese, followed by a visit to a pasta factory for a presentation and some sampling. Continue with a visit to the local Ferrari Museum. Return to Bologna for the night. Dinner is on your own.

DAY 5: BOLOGNA – An excursion to Ferrara. This is a magnificent Unesco World Heritage site that beautifully fuses the Medieval with the Renaissance. Stroll through the picturesque streets to see many of Ferrara’s main sights. See the outside of the city’s impressive Castello Estense and visit the inside of the Romanesque cathedral. Walk through the Jewish Ghetto. Hear about the Este family, who ruled the city for three centuries and helped Ferrara to become the city you see today. Return to Bologna for dinner.

DAY 6: DOZZA – Drive to Dozza, a true treasure of the Emilia-Romagna region. Highlights of this include the Fortress of Dozza and paintings that adorn the facades of houses. Enjoy a wine tasting at the local Enoteca Regionale which is an association that promotes local wines. Overnight in the Dozza area.

DAY 7: RIMINI – A walking tour of the Republic of San Marino. This is a tiny country surrounded by Italy that is just over 24 square miles with a population of 30,000. After a walking tour of the Republic of San Marino, you will enjoy some free time before continuing to Rimini for dinner and overnight.

DAY 8: RIMINI – Spend the day at this famous seaside resort. In the morning, you will tour the historic old town that dates back to Roman times. Enjoy free time in the afternoon to go to the beach. Dinner is on your own.

DAY 9: MILAN – Morning drive to Milan. You will take a guided tour of highlights such as the spectacular Duomo, Galleria, and La Scala. Farewell dinner will be provided.
