Daniel Asare-Kyei, PhD
Ag. Chief Executive Officer, Esoko
Daniel led a team of experts on USAID funded Trade and Investment program where he worked on commodity value
chains focusing on bottom of the pyramid actors. In his role as a GIS Program Manager with TechnoServe and
ACDI/VOCA, he initiated the development of the first Spatial Data Infrastructure (SDI) for Ghana’s agricultural sector.
He conducted a pioneering research in post-harvest management of perishables using advanced remote sensing
techniques. These models have become the backbone of a new mobile app, called CHEETAH
(http://cheetah.ujuizi.com/). He founded Eucharia Farms and Adinkra Frontiers and has been a speaker and ardent
promoter of ICT for agriculture and rural development. He is now the Chief Executive Officer for Esoko’s mobile data
collection company, Insyt.co (www.insyt.co). Daniel is also a fellow of the United Nations University-EHS and has a
doctorate degree in Agricultural Economics and has double master’s degree in Geo-Information Science from the
University of Twente, The Netherlands and a first-class Bachelor’s in Agricultural Economics from Ghana’s KNUST.

Lewis Bett is a Junior Associate in Grants, Monitoring and Programme Quality at Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition
(GAIN). GAIN is an International Non-Governmental Organization which works to advance nutrition outcomes by
improving the consumption of nutritious and safe food for all people, especially those most vulnerable to malnutrition.
He graduated from the Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture & Technology (JKUAT), with bachelor’s degree in

Claudio Cali
Economist, European Investment Bank
As part of the European Investment Bank (EIB) Results Measurement (ReM) Team, I deliver EIB impact strategy across
its Impact Financing Envelope (IFE) operations in African Caribbean and Pacific countries, supporting the selection of
impact investments, engaging with EIB portfolio companies and tracking, monitoring and reporting on results of the
IFE. Prior to joining the ReM+ team I have been working as associate counsellor at the European Bank for
Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), providing inputs on transition impact related results management work and
setting and implementing the results framework on different levels of EBRD activities. Previously I worked as country
and financial sector analyst at the EIB, responsible for financial sector assessment in a number of countries in West,
Central and Eastern Africa. I began my career working as research assistant (main research interests in Fund
Management Industry and Agent-based Models) at the finance department of the University of Technology Sydney
(UTS).

the CDC Group. Prior to joining CDC, Martina worked for an economic consultancy advising governments,
development finance institutions and donors on private sector development and financial inclusion initiatives. Martina
also worked as Strategy and Finance Officer for a social enterprise in Haiti, and before that as a philanthropy and
impact investment advisor in Switzerland. Martina holds a Master in International Affairs from the Graduate Institute of

Elizabeth Chacko

Liz Chacko is a Partnerships Advisor at USAID. She focuses on entrepreneurship / impact investing partnerships and
provides advisory services within USAID on private sector engagement. Prior to joining USAID, Liz worked at the World
Bank for nearly five years on financial sector development in Africa preparing projects to increase access to finance for
small and medium enterprises and managing a regional capacity building project. Previously, she was a LGT Impact
Fellow providing strategy and operational support to a start-up clean water venture in India and has worked with the
Grassroots Business Fund. Liz began her career in the financial services industry working at Drake Management, a
global fixed income investment manager, on the client relationship team and at JP Morgan Chase & Co in a variety of
business units. Liz earned her MBA and Master of Science in Foreign Service at Georgetown University and her
Bachelor of Science at NYU's Stern School of Business.

Leo Chandler
Results Manager/Data Analyst, DFID Impact Programme
At the Impact Programme, I am the results manager, economist and data analyst helping to oversee the impact
reporting for the different components of the work we conduct I support the CDC in their social impact reporting of
their fund of funds called the Impact Fund which currently has 7 funds and 34 investee companies, as well as
supporting their Technical Assistance Facility. I also work in managing some of the market building work we do,
helping to lead on the grant funded projects which are focused on developing impact measurement and management
practices. The market building projects I have been involved with include: the Bridges Impact Management Project,
Acumen's Lean Data Service, the Poverty Probability Index (PPI), ANDE's learning labs, and the GIIN's navigating impact
work. Prior to working at the DFID Impact Programme, I undertook a Masters at the London School of Economics,
specialising in development, economics and social policy.

January 2018. I have a master in Statistics with a specialization in impact analysis of policies. I worked in the Senegalese
National Office of Statistic and Demography where I was member of the technical team which management the
production of conjuncture index (price index in industry and service sectors). These indexes allow the follow-up prices
evolution in industry and service sectors.
Emily Eastman

Emily Eastman is the Global Partnerships Manager for the Entrepreneurship Database Program (EDP), a part of the
Global Accelerator Learning Initiative (GALI). EDP evaluates the impact that accelerators and entrepreneurial support
organizations have on the ventures they support. The main goal of the EDP is to give accelerators data-driven insights

Scott Graham
Director, Research and Field Data Services, FINCA International
Scott leads FINCA’s Client Research and Field Data Services program, using digital surveys and analytics to measure the
impact of FINCA’s programs in microfinance and social investing. His team has recently completed impact studies of
solar lighting and improved cook-stoves in Uganda, and agency banking in DR-Congo. They also collect and publish
extensive data on the social performance of FINCA’s microfinance subsidiaries (https://results.finca.org/). Scott also has
a varied background in start-ups and organizational development. He launched FINCA’s first social enterprise,
BrightLife, which distributes solar and other life-enhancing products to low-income consumers in Uganda, has led the
introduction of savings and insurance services, fostered FINCA’s first payment technology pilots, and spearheaded a
global brand leadership initiative. Previously, he spent 7 years as Director of FINCA microfinance subsidiaries in Malawi

Kate Granger, has considerable experience supporting agribusinesses and designing successful partnerships that drive
private-sector led agricultural innovations and technologies during her tenure at Fintrac and previously. Ms. Granger is

social enterprise. Sabrina holds a Masters of Public Administration in Development Practice from Columbia University

Farouk Jiwa

Farouk is a social entrepreneur and recognised expert in international economic and enterprise development. In
addition to being the Co-founder of Farm Shop and Honey Care Africa, he was also the Senior Advisor for Economic
Development with CARE International for 10 years. Farouk is currently a Lecturer and Associate Staff at the Coady
International Institute at St Francis Xavier University. Farouk has received the Equator Initiative Prize, the International
Development Innovation Award from the World Bank and the World Business and Development Award from the Prince
of Wales International Business Leaders Forum. Farouk is also a Senior Ashoka Fellow, a Sauvé Fellow and an Aga Khan

Elizabeth keeps track of KCIC’s results against its performance framework. She is also in the technical team on Kenya
mini-wind project aims to demonstrate small wind turbines can be integrated with existing solar PV mini-grid systems
in Kenya. She is passionate about global environmental topics which motivated her to pursue Bachelors in Arts in
Geography and Environmental Studies at University of Nairobi; and currently taking Masters in Arts in Environmental
Planning and Management in University of Nairobi who is undertaking a project research in Assessment of factors
affecting adoption of improved cook stoves by households in Kenya: a case study in Kibera.

Tom Karrel

Tom started working with GLI at the end of 2017, and spends the majority of the year in Uganda. In this role, Tom helps
to oversee most of GLI’s East Africa programming across all sectors, as well as managing some of the in-country staff.
Tom was born in Westport, Connecticut, and has worked in Uganda, US, and Mexico for various public health and
development organizations. He graduated from Tulane University with a Master’s in International Health and
Development. Tom is passionate about social innovation and community development, and spends his free time
traveling, reading, and trying to learn the ukulele.

Assi KIMOU holds a PhD in Economics from a joint program of the Felix Houphouet-Boigny University and The
Universite Catholique de Louvain in Belgium. He is currently associate professor and senior researcher at CAPEC. He
was a Fulbright fellow at The University of South Florida (USA). Dr. Kimou’s research interest is Development Economics
with a focus in Law and Economics, Impact Evaluation, Governance and Private Sector development.

Liz Larson is the Pacific Financial Inclusion Programme’s (PFIP) Results Measurement Advisor. Since March 2014, Liz is
responsible for the monitoring and evaluation for PFIP, spearheading a results-based management framework across
all levels of the programme’s strategy and implementation. Most recently Liz was the Asia Regional Manager of
Microfinance Information Exchange (MIX), starting up the MIX office in Hyderabad, India, responsible for all regional
activities and a team of analysts. Prior to working for MIX, Liz worked for Oxfam America (OA) managing the
development organization’s livelihoods portfolio in East Asia, with a focus on community finance and agriculture. She

Mishkah Teladia has focused her career at Genesis Analytics on monitoring and evaluation and supporting high-quality
and effective results-based management practices within organisations. Her assignments have included providing M&E
technical advisory and quality assurance services to the National Treasury’s USD 1 billion Jobs Fund, the Rockefeller
Foundation’s Digital Jobs Africa initiative, and a variety of impact funds focused on unlocking the potential of small and
growing businesses and to generate employment particularly for youth, women and other marginalised individuals.
Mishkah has conducted a number of large-scale evaluations for public sector clients, private sector clients and
foundations, and has excellent knowledge of various evaluation approaches, methods and tools.

Darius Teter
Executive Director, Stanford University
Darius Teter, executive director, is leading Seed’s growth and expansion, building upon the success achieved since its
inception in 2011. Before joining Stanford Seed, Teter served as vice president of global programs at Oxfam America,
where he oversaw regional development and human rights programs in Asia, Africa, and Latin America, humanitarian
response to natural disasters and conflict, and managed the research, learning, and evaluation teams. His experience
spans the field and geography of international development, from financing infrastructure megaprojects to advising
governments on economic policies. Prior to Oxfam, he held leadership positions with the Asian Development Bank, and
the Millennium Challenge Corporation, an independent U.S. government foreign aid agency. Teter holds a Bachelor of
Arts in history from Yale University and a Master in Public Policy from Harvard Kennedy School. He has also completed
advanced studies in resource economics at the University of British Columbia.

Sarah Tinsley
Portfolio Manager, World Vision Canada
Sarah is a Portfolio Manager (Impact Investing) with World Vision Canada, where she is supporting the development of
an impact investing fund targeting SGBs in emerging markets. This includes working closely with in-country partners to
develop financial products and impact management systems.
Diana Trujillo
Assistant Professor, Universidad de Los Andes
Diana Trujillo is Assistant Professor at the School of Management at the Universidad de Los Andes. She completed her
Ph.D. in Public Administration at New York University. Her research areas include management of complex issues,
cross-sector collaborations, collaborative governance arrangements, social innovation and social entrepreneurship.
Currently her work is focused on understanding the links between value creation and impact evaluation in cross-sector
collaborations. She contributed to: Socially Inclusive Business in Latin America (2010), Effective Management of Social
Enterprise (2006), and Social Partnering in Latin America: Lessons Drawn from Collaborations of Businesses and Civil
Society Organizations (2004), published by Harvard University. She has authored a dozen of case studies, most of them
published by Harvard Business Publishing.

Morgan Tucker

Morgan Tucker joined the team in May 2015 and currently serves as the Impact Analyst. She leads on establishing
impact measurement guidance, frameworks, processes, and technology and advises CRS Country Programs on the
same. Morgan also supports Church partner and staff capacity-building, manages CRS’Aspen Network of Development
Entrepreneur (ANDE) and Global Impact Investing Network (GIIN) memberships, and supports CRS impact investing
sector engagement. Morgan joined CRS from a Project Assistant role at University Research Co. for the USAID
TRAction Project. Prior to that, she worked for two years in Latin America; in project design and proposal development
in Brazil and social enterprise development and microfinance in Nicaragua and the Dominican Republic.

Mr. David Irungu Waiyaki has over 9 years of progressive professional experience in the monitoring and evaluation of
development programs in Tanzania, Mozambique, Uganda and Kenya, where he currently serves as the Monitoring and
Evaluation Specialist for the Global Affairs Canadan Msawa Initiative. His expertise includes developing and
implementing monitoring and evaluation frameworks, designing and employing quantitative survey instruments,
promoting informed and effective decision making among project staff and development partners, and ensuring that
gender is properly integrated into M&E data collection and analysis. Mr. Waiyaki brings expertise in designing and
managing M&E systems for agribusiness, youth, digital and refugee programs and has performed needs assessments
for numerous agribusiness clients.

Stanford Seed, Frank was a finance and development consultant specializing in SME and entrepreneur support,
investment appraisal, business analysis and strategy evaluation. Frank has more than 15 years’ experience in the US and
Africa across multiple sectors including retail, food processing, financial services, agribusiness and education.

Rosanne Whalley
Senior Investment Manager, AHL Venture Partners
Based in Nairobi, Rosanne structures new investments in East and Southern Africa, and provides post-investment
portfolio support. She has broad impact investing experience across Africa, in the agriculture and infrastructure
markets. Prior to joining AHL, Rosanne worked for InfraCo Africa, where she focused on investing in distributed solar
PV mini-grids and biomass. Before that, she joined AgDevCo as its second employee, helping to build AgDevCo into a
leading pan-African agri-investor. Her role culminated in three years in Mozambique as Country Manager, sitting on
the board of numerous agricultural companies, structuring deals and overseeing 22 investments across multiple value
chains. Rosanne has degrees from the University of York (BA Hons) and the London School of Economics (MSc), and
holds an advanced qualification in finance.

science/behavioral and operations research and evaluation of programs in the areas of maternal and child health,
sexual and reproductive health and rights, family planning, violence against girls and women, governance and
leadership, enhancing economic security and livelihood opportunities for adolescent girls and women, WASH, HIV
