3:30 pMIndustrial Machine Intelligence: The Golden Braid of Data Streams, AI, and Human Expertise
We are now more than a decade into the commercialization of “big data” and “data science,” but these technologies have yet to meet the needs of the businesses whose work exists outside the data center. The commodity stack of
big data technologies are fundamentally flawed for use in the rising tide of data streaming from connected machines in industrial settings. There are many reasons for this, as challenges abound when embedding machine intelligence into a production industrial lifecycle. Perhaps the most challenging, however, is understanding how intelligent software systems will support normal business operations and what real benefits they will provide.
In this talk Drew will address the challenge of blending massive data, advanced machine intelligence, and human expertise. This “golden braid” enables both the human experts and the algorithms to leverage their comparative strengths, adding value for oil and gas companies by building products on the strength of this braid, while at the same time building trust between the operators and algorithms. To support this, Drew will provide a case study demonstrating how to enable the rapid analysis of oil and gas production data, the capturing of that knowledge, and the transferring of that knowledge within the organization.

WorkSHop By HonEyWELLIoT for oil & Gas: Where is the value & How do I Get StartedFebruary 15 – Hotel Arts
WorkSHop
At this complimentary, half-day session, “IoT for Oil & Gas: Where is the Value & How do I Get Started?, you will learn how oil &
gas companies today are deploying real IoT solutions and what solutions are driving the greatest improvements in safety, operational
efficiency, production and people competency in both the traditional oil recovery processes, SAGD and oil sands mining. The session
will focus on the different IoT technologies available from data connectivity to analytics, and also look at the new business operating
models that IoT is enabling around remote integrated operating centers. As an outcome, participants will better understand how IoT
solutions can drive business improvements, unlock new revenue streams, and how to best get started on the IoT journey.
This workshop, which is the morning after the 3rd Annual Blockchain, IoT & Machine Learning in Oil & Gas Canada Conference, will
provide business leaders in the oil & gas space with a morning of thought-leadership and networking to learn about the newest IoT
technologies available, new business models being created, and exchange ideas and insights with your peers.
There is no charge for this event other than your time.
