En los meses después delcambio de año se suelen

celebrar en todas partes lasasambleas generales de lasfederaciones y los clubs. Enestas reuniones se debaten y sedeterminan las actividades ytareas que se deben organizarpara el trabajo y la convivenciade los clubs a nivel nacional,regional y local. A mí me gustaparticipar en estas reuniones, afin de mantener el contacto conla base. En ellas uno adquiereconocimiento de lo que, entreotras cosas, realmente le inte-resa a cada propietario de perroy las preocupaciones que tiene.Se trata de las cuestiones deldía a día relativas a la tenenciade perros y a la vida en losclubs; además, con frecuenciase debaten - y en ocasiones secritican - las normas y los de-cretos oficiales. Este tipo de de-bates me interesan mucho, ysiempre intento descubrir si laFCI puede contribuir a solucio-nar los problemas en cuestión. Nosotros, de hecho, pensamosque la FCI está muy presente enlas mentes de los propietariossingulares de perros. Sin em-bargo, incluso entre los propie-tarios de perros que son activossólo una pequeña parte de losmismos conoce siquiera la exis-tencia de nuestra organización.Es comprensible que para lospropietarios de perros el propioclub sea lo que les es más cer-cano, incluso también la federa-ción-cúpula regional o nacio-nal. ¿Y la FCI? Um den Kontaktzur Basis zu behalten, nehmeich gerne an solchen Versamm-lungen teil. Hier vernimmt manunter anderem, was den ein-zelnen Hundebesitzer im Alltagtatsächlich beschäftigt und woihn der Schuh drückt. Es sinddas die alltäglichen Fragen zurHundehaltung und zum Lebenin den Vereinen; zudem werdenoft amtliche Vorschriften undErlasse besprochen und diesegelegentlich auch kritisiert.Solche Diskussionen interes-sieren mich und ich versuchejeweils herauszufinden, ob dieFCI beim Lösen dieser Proble-me beitragen könnte.

Wir glauben, die FCI wäre inden Köpfen der einzelnenHundehalter wirklich präsent.Jedoch weiß selbst von den ak-tiven Hundebesitzern nur einsehr kleiner Teil überhaupt vonder Existenz unserer Organisa-tion. Es ist verständlich, dassden Hundehaltern der eigeneVerein am Nächsten steht, undsie vielleicht auch noch denregionalen oder nationalenDachverband. Und die FCI? Siesteht zweifellos am Schlussdieser Reihe und wird selbstvon wichtigen Funktionsträgernder Kynologie oftmals kaumwahrgenommen und verstan-den. Wir können uns hier, was

tiplient durant les mois quisuivent la nouvelle année. Lesmembres y posent alors les ja-lons du travail national, régio-nal et local et de la cohabitationdans les associations. Je par-ticipe volontiers à ces événe-ments afin de garder le contactavec la base. Ils permettent no-tamment de découvrir les pré-occupations quotidiennes despropriétaires de chiens et lesproblèmes qu‘ils peuvent ren-contrer. Il s‘agit de questionsjournalières relatives à la déten-tion de chiens et à la vie au seindes associations ; par ailleurs,des réglementations et décretsfont souvent l‘objet de discus-sions et, à l‘occasion, de cri-tiques. Ces discussions m‘in-téressent et je tente constam-ment de savoir si la FCI pour-rait contribuer à résoudre lesproblèmes rencontrés.

Nous pensons que la FCI estréellement présente dans les es-prits des propriétaires dechiens. Et pourtant, même par-mi les propriétaires actifs, seuleune minorité connaît l‘exis-tence de notre organisation. Ilest compréhensible que ces pro-priétaires soient attachés prio-ritairement à leur propre asso-ciation et connaissent, éven-tuellement, l‘existence d‘uneorganisation nationale ou régio-nale. Mais qu‘en est-il de laFCI? Elle se situe sans nuldoute en fin de liste et, souvent,elle est à peine perçue et com-prise, y compris par les per-sones occupant des fonctionsimportantes dans la cynologie.

In the months following theNew Year, general assemblies

at clubs and associations areheld almost everywhere. Theway ahead for national,regional and local work and co-existence in the clubs is dis-cussed and laid down at theseevents. I am always happy totake part in these assemblies, inorder to ensure that contactwith the grassroots is kept aliveand well. Along with otherthings, it is possible to learnwhat the individual dog ownersare concerned with on a day-to-day basis and what is rubbingthem up the wrong way. It is allabout the daily questions onkeeping dogs and life in theclubs. In addition, the officialrules and regulations are dis-cussed and, from time to time,also criticised. Discussionssuch as these interest me and Itry in each case to find outwhether the FCI can help toresolve any of these problems.

We believe that the FCI reallyis in the thoughts of the indi-vidual dog owners. However,only a small fraction of the ac-tive dog owners has the slight-est idea of the existence of ourorganisation. It is understand-able that the dog owners areclosest to their own clubs andperhaps also know the regionalor national umbrella asso-ciations. And the FCI? It is lo-cated without doubt right at theend of this chain and is often toa large extent ignored and mis-understood, even by the im-portant functionaries in theworld of cynology. We can, inthis respect, under no cir-

cumstances do what we other-wise often do and compare our-selves with FIFA, the inter-national football association.Apart from the much greaterfinancial resources and the con-sequent regular presence in themedia, almost every childknows about the existence ofFIFA from the moment theystart kicking a ball. So the mo-ment young people step ontothe football field they are con-fronted with the rules of the in-ternational association and theyquickly learn that a ‚superiorpower‘ has to watch over theevents which take place on thefootball pitch. Why am I men-tioning this? Simply because itis essential that the FCI toomust establish a greater pres-ence amongst the cynologicalgrass roots.

At shows, we have succeededin making people aware of ourexistence by using banners andflags and, moreover, the FCIlogo is being included moreand more frequently and con-sistently on the papers of theclubs and associations: a mustfor example on the pedigree do-cuments and the programmesand catalogues concerning FCIevents. We have to intensify our effortswith all the means at our dis-posal and at every opportunityto raise the profile of the FCI.This, however, is only feasibleif we get the support of the na-tional associations and theirclubs, including the represen-tatives of national and inter-national cynology (e.g. cluband association functionaries,judges, etc.). The branches ofthe FCI on their part will dotheir utmost to start certain PRevents and activities in the cur-rent year and to make the nec-essary resources available.

So, for the not-so-new 2008, Iwish you much joy and successwith your cynological activi-ties.

Abgesehen von den vielgrößeren finanziellen Mitteln,und einer entsprechenden regel-mäßigen Präsenz in den Me-dien, weiß schon bald jedesKind, falls es mit dem Ball ver-traut ist, dass es die FIFA gibt.So werden Jugendliche, sobaldsie das Fußballfeld betreten,mit den Regeln des interna-tionalen Verbandes beglücktund sie lernen schnell, dass hiereine „Übermacht“ über das Ge-schehen auf den Fußballfeldernwachen muss. Warum ich daserwähne? Einfach deshalb, weiles dringend notwendig ist, dassauch die FCI bei der kynolo-gischen Basis vermehrt präsentsein sollte.

An den Ausstellungen ist es unsgelungen, mit Transparentenund Fahnen auf unsere Exis-tenz hinzuweisen, zudem istdas FCI-Logo nun immer häu-figer und konsequenter auf denPapieren der Verbände undVereinen enthalten. Ein Mussbeispielsweise auf den Ab-stammungsurkunden sowie denProgrammen und Katalogenvon FCI-Veranstaltungen. Wir müssen mit allen Mittelnund bei allen Gelegenheitenvermehrt auf die FCI hin-weisen. Dies allerdings ist nurmöglich, wenn uns die Landes-verbände und ihre Vereine, wieauch die Exponenten der na-tionalen und internationalenKynologie (z.B. Verbands- undVereinsfunktionäre, Richterusw.) dabei tatkräftig unter-stützen. Die Geschäftsstelle derFCI ihrerseits wird das Not-wendige tun, um noch im lau-fenden Jahr gewisse PR-Ak-tionen zu starten und dazu dieerforderlichen Mittel zur Verfü-gung zu stellen.

Für das schon nicht mehr ganzjunge Jahr 2008 wünsche ichIhnen bei Ihren kynologischenAktivitäten viel Freude und Er-folg.

Así, a los jóvenes, encuanto pisan el campo de fút-bol, ya se les enseñan las reglasde esta federación internacio-nal, y aprenden con rapidez quehay un “poder absoluto” quedebe regular y supervisar losacontecimientos y hechos quese producen en los campos defútbol. ¿Por qué menciono yoeste tema? Sencillamente por-que es urgente, es necesario quetambién la FCI tenga muchamás presencia en la base de lacinología. En las exposiciones hemosconseguido llamar la atenciónsobre nuestra existencia me-diante pancartas y banderas,además el logotipo de la FCIaparece cada vez con más fre-cuencia en los papeles y do-cumentos de las federaciones yde los clubes. Una condiciónobligatoria, por ejemplo, en lospedigrees así como en losprogramas y catálogos de loseventos y actos de la FCI. Debemos hacer referencia a laFCI y llamar la atención sobreella con todos los medios dis-ponibles y en todas las ocasio-nes posibles. Sin embargo, estosólo es posible, si las federa-ciones nacionales y sus clubs,así como también los represen-tantes más importantes de lacinología nacional e interna-cional (p. ej. los funcionariosde las federaciones y de losclubs, los jueces, etc.) nos apo-yan activamente en ello. Por suparte, la secretaría de la FCIhará lo necesario para iniciartodavía en este año corrientedeterminadas acciones de rela-ciones públicas y para poner adisposición los medios necesa-rios. Aunque ya hace algún tiempoque comenzó, para este año2008 les deseo a ustedes muchasatisfacción y éxito en susactividades cinológicas.

Nous pourrions nous comparer- ce que nous faisons d‘ailleursassez souvent- à la FIFA, la fé-dération internationale de foot-ball. Mis à part des moyens fi-nanciers considérablement plusimportants et une présence àl‘avenant dans les médias, tousceux qui s‘intéressent au foot-ball savent que la FIFA existe.C‘est ainsi que les jeunes sontconfrontés au règlement de lafédération internationale dèsqu‘ils pénètrent sur un terrainde football et qu‘ils apprennentrapidement qu‘une « super-puissance » veille à la bonnetenue des événements se dérou-lant sur le terrain. Mais pour-quoi est-ce que je vous parle decela ? Tout simplement parcequ‘il est urgent que la FCI soit,elle aussi, plus présente auprèsde sa base.

Nous sommes parvenus à nousrendre plus visibles lors des ex-positions grâce à des ban-deroles et des drapeaux ; parailleurs, le logo de la FCI estdésormais de plus en plusrégulièrement imprimé sur lesdocuments des associations etdes clubs. Il s‘agit d‘ailleursd‘une obligation en ce qui con-cerne les pedigrees et les pro-grammes et catalogues de nosmanifestations. Nous devons signaler plus fré-quemment l‘existence de la FCIpar tous les moyens et à toutesles occasions. Cela n‘est toute-fois possible que si les associa-tions nationales et leurs clubs,de même que les intervenantsde la cynologie nationale etinternationale (par exemple lesemployés des associations etdes clubs, les juges, etc.) nousapportent un soutien efficace.Le Secrétariat de la FCI fera deson côté le nécessaire afin delancer diverses campagnes derelations publiques dès cetteannée et consacrera les fondsnécessaires à cette opération.

Je vous souhaite beaucoup deplaisir et de succès dans le cad-re de vos activités cynologiquespour cette année 2008 même sicelle-ci est déjà bien entamée.

2008 Eukanuba World Chal-lenge, scheduled to take placein Long Beach, California onSat 13th and Sun 14th December2008. Following on from theresoundingly successful andhighly acclaimed event heldthere in December 2007, Euka-nuba working in cooperationwith the AKC and FCI invited40 Top Winning Dogs fromaround the world to competefor the title of the 2008 Euka-nuba World Challenge Champi-on.

Los Kennel Clubs nacionalesde los países invitados selec-cionan a los perros participan-tes o bien – en algunos casos –los participantes son seleccio-nados según unas reglas clara-mente definidas que permiten laelección independiente del pe-rro ganador. La selección se ba-sa en criterios determinados co-mo, por ejemplo, el número deexposiciones ganadas por losperros dentro del plazo de cali-ficación.

GANADOR DE LA EUKANUBAWORLD CHALLENGE 2007

El ganador de la EukanubaWorld Challenge 2007, que fueelegido por el Vicepresidentede la FCI, don Karl Reisinger,proviene del afijo “Very Vi-gie“, de Suiza. Este fenomenalCocker Spaniel Americano, denombre “Multi Ch Very VigieVamos A La Playa“, criado porLaurent Pichard, fue conducidohasta el éxito por HughesSchuh. “Vamos“ ganó a otros 39 pe-rros ganadores de primerísimacalidad en la lucha por el título.Junto al título y al trofeo de laEukanuba World Challenge,este perro se llevó a casa, parasus propietarios, un premio mo-netario de $ 10.000,-- así comootros $ 5.000,-- de premio amodo de reconocimiento parala federación cinológica suizaSKG (Schweizerische Kynolo-gische Gesellschaft). El segun-do clasificado fue el Dober-mann “Wizard Black de AkidoSan“, den Andrea Laruccia yCarlos Souto, de Argentina, querecibió un premio monetario de$ 3.000,--. El tercer puesto fue

VAINQUEURS DE L‘EUKANUBAWORLD CHALLENGE 2007

Le vainqueur du EukanubaWorld Challenge 2007, sé-lectionné par le vice-présidentde la FCI, Karl Reisinger,provient de l‘élevage suisse« Very Vigie ». Two packs of Segugio Italianoa Pelo Raso from Italy and 14solo dogs faced the interna-tional judges from Italy, Fin-land, France, Norway, Sweden,Switzerland and Austria. FromFinland, one Finnish hound,one Swedish basset and onebeagle entered the solo compe-tition, as did one dunker hound,one Hygen hound and one Hal-den hound from Norway, oneSchiller hound and one beaglefrom Sweden, one Schwyzhound and two Luzern houndsfrom Switzerland, one Luzernhound from Germany, and twoTyrolean hounds from Austria.

Right from the outset, thehounds’ work was made diffi-cult by the pine and spruceforests dotted with somebeeches and with some openspaces, whose main game israbbit, fox, deer and elk. Des-pite the suitable terrain, the ex-treme weather conditions se-verely impaired the dogs’ per-formance, since the dry, coldweather changed into lightsnowfall the night before thecompetition. This demandedthe utmost in concentrationfrom the dogs‘ noses, and mostof the hounds didn‘t manage totrack down a rabbit during anintensive, four-hour search.Hence, of 14 solo dogs, onlyfour hounds were awarded pri-zes. The two packs also failedto achieve sufficient results,which meant that no EuropeanCup was awarded in this com-petition. Trial manager Curt-Christer Gustafsson and orga-niser Henrik Gullans arraned afestive presentation ceremony.

Bienque les territoires de chasseétaient adaptés, les performan-ces des chiens ont été extrême-ment gênées par les conditionsmétéorologiques extrêmes ; eneffet, le temps froid et sec s‘esttransformé en légères chutes deneige durant la nuit qui a pré-cédé l‘épreuve. A meeting of the FCI HoundCommission with delegatesfrom France, Italy, Switzerland,Sweden, Finland, Norway andAustria was held the day beforethe trials. The Commissionconcerned itself with workingon the trial regulations and con-tinuing the European Cup trialsin the various countries, where-by the tradition of hunting withhounds and hunters’ meetingsfrom the various hunting cul-tures are to be maintained. TheFCI European Cup for Houndsis due to be held in Sweden inNovember 2008.

La prochaine Couped‘Europe pour Chiens Courantsde la FCI aura lieu en no-vembre 2008 en Suède.

Im November 2008 findet dieFCI Europa Pokal Prüfung fürBracken, in Schweden statt.

En noviembre de 2008 se cele-brará la prueba de la Copa deEuropa de la FCI para bracosen Suecia.

At the sametime, scientific studies on thesubject of the relationship be-tween man and dog are con-tinually being carried outthroughout the world – too littleattention is currently devoted tothem.

The WDPA currently compris-es approximately 320 dog jour-nalists writing for approximate-ly 500 dog magazines on allfive continents. Water is essential. It helps totransport oxygen through

the blood and to discharge wastematter through the kidneys. In-sufficient drinking can lead todehydration and overheating. Dogs lose fluid through breathingand panting via the lungs (evapo-ration), through perspiration,urine, feces and milk production.Evaporation depends on physicalactivity, environmental tempera-ture and humidity in the air. Tomaintain a stable water balance,dogs need approximately 40 to60 ml of water per kg of bodyweight a day, including 20% oxi-dation water and, additionally,“free water”.

THREATS TO HEALTHInsufficient supply of water orvomiting and diarrhea can lead todehydration. The kidneys havegreater difficulty expelling wastematter, the urine becomes moreconcentrated and the chance ofurinary stones and bladder grit isincreased. Furthermore, the bodyis not able to cool as much due toless evaporation, resulting in pos-sible overheating. Severe hyper-thermia is dangerous and canhave serious effects on all sy-stems in the body.

PREVENTION IS IMPORTANTAs a consequence, animals haveto drink sufficiently to stayhealthy. Especially, if they aremainly fed dry dog food. If dogsreceive a tasty drink, they can be-come conditioned to ingest thedrink even when they do not feelthirsty. In this way increasedfluid absorption can take place. Pour main-tenir une teneur en eau à un ni-veau stable, les chiens ont besoinau quotidien d‘environ 40 à 60ml d‘eau par kg, y compris 20%d‘eau d‘oxydation, et en supplé-ment de « l‘eau libre ».

Germany dominates thisdiscipline with a clear lead aheadof Switzerland in the next place.As always, the top scores in Agi-lity and Obedience went to dogsfrom Scandinavia, with Den-mark, Finland and Norway pro-viding the champions.As Utility examinations are nowonly obligatory in the Europeansection, the top performances aregrouped here. His Royal Highness, PrinceNicholas of Romania. This so-ciety became a member of theFCI in 1933. After 1945, under the commu-nist regime, this organizationceased to exist for over 20years. It was only in 1969, inArad, that a group of enthu-siasts founded a new organiza-tion under the name of “Aso-ciatia Chinologica Romana”(Romanian Cynological Asso-ciation). On June 22nd, 1973 itbecame an associated memberof the Fédération CynologiqueInternationale.

During the communist period,A.Ch.R. and its members wereconfronted with a long series ofdifficulties regarding breeding,organising shows, importing orexporting pure bred dogs.Many breeds actually disap-peared from the cynologicalscene, many bloodlines of greatvalue were extinguished.

The year 1990 brought to Ro-mania an important politicalchange. The same year, a Gen-eral Assembly meeting of theNational Kennel Club tookplace in Bucharest. New Ar-ticles of Association, based onthe need of reorganising our ac-tivities on new democraticgrounds, were agreed.

Since 1996 until today, the Ro-manian Kennel Club has beendeveloping excellently and cy-nological life in Romania hassubstantially improved. Since2001, Romania has been ac-

L‘année 1990 a apporté unchangement politique importanten Roumanie. La même année,une assemblée générale de l‘as-sociation canine nationale a eulieu à Bucarest. Compte tenu dela nécessité de réorganiser nosactivités sur des fondements dé-mocratiques, de nouveaux sta-tuts ont été adoptés.

L‘AChR a connu une évolutionimpressionnante depuis 1996 etla vie cynologique s‘est nette-ment améliorée en Roumanie.En 2001, la Roumanie a été re-connue par la FCI en tant quemembre à part entière.

Während der kommunistischenÄra hatten der RKV und seineMitglieder mit einer Vielzahlan Schwierigkeiten in Bezugauf Zucht, Ausstellungsorgani-sation und der Ein- und Aus-fuhr von Rassehunden zukämpfen. Viele Rassen sind ausder kynologischen Szene ver-schwunden; viele gute Stamm-bäume wurden ausgelöscht.

Das Jahr 1990 brachte einewichtige politische Verände-rung in Rumänien mit sich. Imselben Jahr fand eine General-versammlung des NationalenKennel Clubs in Bukarest statt.Aufgrund der Notwendigkeit,unsere Aktivitäten auf neuem,demokratischem Boden neu zuorganisieren, wurden neue Sta-tuten verabschiedet.

Der Rumänische Kennel Clubhat sich von 1996 bis heutegroßartig entwickelt und daskynologische Leben in Rumä-nien hat sich deutlich verbes-sert. 2001 wurde Rumänien vonder FCI als Vollmitglied aner-kannt.

Die Statistiken von 2006 lassenuns auf eine weitere positiveEntwicklung der rumänischenKynologie hoffen. Unser Ken-nel Club hat über 10.000 Mit-glieder und im letzten Jahr wur-den bei uns über 10.000Stammbäume registriert. In vie-len wichtigen Ausstellungenkonnten von rumänischenZüchtern, die eine ganze Men-ge internationaler Championshervorgebracht haben, ausge-zeichnete Ergebnisse erzieltwerden.

PRIORITÄTENIm Lauf der letzten zehn Jahremusste der Rumänische KennelClub sich einer langen Liste anPrioritäten widmen. Zunächsthaben wir es als unsere Pflichtangesehen, unsere Organisationauf moderner Ebene umzuge-stalten und das gesamte Organi-sationssystem umzustrukturie-ren. Weiters galt und gilt es, dieRegeln der FCI zu befolgenund strikt anzuwenden, undsich für die Anerkennung vondrei rumänischen Rassen einzu-setzen.

The 2006 statistics give us hopefor a positive development ofRomanian cynology. Our Ken-nel Club has more than 10,000members and more than 10,000pedigrees have been registeredwith us the previous year. Ex-cellent results were obtained inmany important shows by Ro-manian breeders who have pro-duced quite a number of inter-national champions.

PRIORITIESDuring the last ten years, theRomanian Kennel Club had todeal with a long list of priori-ties. First of all, it was compul-sory for us to rebuild our orga-nization on a modern basis andto restructure the whole orga-nizing system, to follow andapply strictly the FCI rules andto work towards the recognitionof three Romanian breeds.

We are happy to say, now, thatour efforts to reach our goalshave been successful, by andlarge. In relatively short time,we have managed to adapt ourrules and regulations to theones of the FCI. The strict andscientific process for the selec-tion of our national breeds is inthe final stage. Two of them,the Carpathian and the Mioritic,have been provisionally recog-nized by the FCI since 2005and the third one, the BucovinaShepherd, is awaiting its provi-sional recognition from the FCIGeneral Committee.

PRIORITÉAu cours des dix dernièresannées, l‘association canineroumaine a dû se consacrer àune longue liste de priorités.Dans un premier temps, nousavons dû moderniser notre or-ganisation et la restructurerpour la rendre opérationnelle.Par ailleurs, il convient de sui-vre les règles de la FCI et de lesappliquer de façon stricte et des‘engager en vue de la recon-naissance des trois races rou-maines.

Nous sommes heureux de pou-voir dire que nos efforts sont àprésent grandement récom-pensés. En l‘espace de relative-ment peu de temps, noussommes parvenus à adapter nosstatuts et nos règlements à ceuxde la FCI. Le processus scienti-fique sévère de sélection de nosraces nationales est entré danssa phase finale. Deux d‘entreelles, le Carpatin et le Mioritic,sont provisoirement reconnuespar la FCI depuis 2005. La troi-sième, le Bucovine, attend cettemême reconnaissance par leComité général de la FCI.

STRUKTUR, AKTIVITÄTEN UNDAUSSTELLUNGEN

Die interne Struktur unseresKennel Clubs ist modern unddemokratisch. Eigentlich sindwir ein „föderaler Verbund“,d.h. ein Zusammenschlussrechtlich anerkannter, lokaler,unabhängiger Clubs und natio-naler Rasseclubs. Momentanhaben wir als Mitglieder 37 lo-kale All Breed-Vereine, 20 na-tionale Rasseclubs und zweiArbeitsclubs.

Der Rumänische Kennel Cluborganisiert jedes Jahr eine Viel-zahl an Veranstaltungen: natio-nale und internationale AllBreed-Ausstellungen, Club-Ausstellungen, Arbeitsprüfun-gen, Kurse, Seminare und Prü-fungen.

Eine der ersten Hundeausstel-lungen in Rumänien wurde1921 in Temeswar abgehalten.Seitdem wurden viele Ausstel-lungen in Arad, Oradea, ClujNapoca, Bukarest und Temes-war organisiert. Seit der Gründung des neuenRumänischen Kennel Clubsnach dem Zweiten Weltkriegwurden – allen Schwierigkei-

ESTRUCTURA, ACTIVIDADES YEXPOSICIONES

La estructura interna de nuestroKennel Club es moderna y de-mocrática. De hecho, somosuna "asociación federal”, es de-cir, una agrupación de clubs lo-cales e independientes, legal-mente reconocidos, y clubs deraza nacionales. Actualmentenuestros miembros se compo-nen de 37 clubs locales de todaslas razas (All Breed), 20 clubsde raza nacionales y dos clubsde trabajo. El Kennel Club Rumano orga-niza cada año múltiples actos yeventos: exposiciones AllBreed nacionales e internacio-nales, exposiciones de clubs,pruebas de trabajo, cursos, se-minarios y pruebas.

STRUCTURE, ACTIVITIESAND SHOWS

The internal structure of ourKennel Club is a modern anddemocratic one. Actually, weare a “federal composite”, i.e.an association of legally recog-nized, local, independent clubsand national breed clubs. Atpresent we have as members 37local all breed associations, 20national breed clubs and twoworking clubs. Every year the Romanian Ken-nel Club organises a large num-ber of events: national and in-ternational all breed shows,club shows, working trials,courses, seminars and exams.

One of the first dog shows inRomania was held in 1921 inTimisoara. Many other showshave been organised since thenin Arad, Oradea, Cluj Napoca,Bucharest and Timisoara. Upon founding the new Roma-nian Kennel Club after WorldWar II, despite the difficulties,cynological activities continuedand dog shows took place allover the country.

As statistics show, the numberof entries for shows has in-creased over the past ten years.

Last year we organised 14 in-ternational shows, 19 nationalshows, 37 club shows and 4National Championship breedshows, 47 working trials and 8hunting dog trials. Romania has had the privilegeto organise a Union show (theCentral European Cup) twice inArad, with massive internation-

La structure interne de notre as-sociation canine nationale estmoderne et démocratique. Enfait, nous sommes une « asso-ciation fédérale », c‘est-à-direque nous regroupons des clubslocaux indépendants qui ont étéjuridiquement reconnus ainsique des clubs de race natio-naux. A l‘heure actuelle, nouscomptons, en qualité de mem-bres, 37 organisations localestoutes races, 20 clubs de racenationaux et deux clubs de tra-vail.

L‘association canine roumaineorganise chaque année ungrand nombre de manifesta-tions, d‘expositions toutes racesnationales et internationales,des examens de travail, descours, des séminaires et desconcours.

Une des premières expositionscanines roumaines a eu lieu en1921 à Temesvar. Depuis, denombreuses expositions ont étéorganisées à Arad, Oradea, ClujNapoca, Bucarest et Temesvar.Depuis la fondation de la nou-velle association canine rou-maine, après la seconde guerremondiale, toutes les activitéscynologiques ont été mainte-nues malgré les difficultés ren-contrées et des expositions ca-nines ont eu lieu dans le paystout entier.Les statistiques montrent que lenombre d‘inscriptions aux ex-positions a augmenté au coursdes dix dernières années.

L‘an dernier, 14 expositions in-ternationales, 19 expositionsnationales, 37 expositions declubs et 4 championnats natio-naux (spéciales de race) ainsique 47 épreuves de travail et 8épreuves de chasse ont été or-ganisés. La Roumanie a eu l‘honneurd‘organiser deux fois une expo-sition majeure (coupe d‘Europecentrale) à Arad avec de nom-breux concurrents étrangers.Depuis 2006, nous organisonsune exposition internationalecouronnée de succès à TarguMures, placée sous le patronagedu légendaire Comte Dracula,une authentique marque de fa-brique roumaine. De nombreu-ses autres expositions natio-nales et internationales impor-tantes ont lieu à Bucarest, Te-mesvar, Cluj Napoca, Oradea,

Viele andere wichtigenationale und internationaleAusstellungen werden in Buka-rest, Temeswar, Cluj Napoca,Oradea, Sibiu, Constanta undSatu Mare abgehalten.

RUMÄNISCHE RASSENRumänische Rassen sind seitJahrhunderten urkundlich er-wähnt. Der erste Standard fürden Carpathian Shepherd wur-de 1934 in „Revista Carpati“veröffentlicht.

RAZAS RUMANASLas razas rumanas ya se men-cionan documentalmente desdehace siglos. El primer estándarpara el Perro de Pastor Rumanode los Cárpatos (Carpatín) sepublicó en 1934, en la “RevistaCarpati”.

Desde comienzos de los años80 del siglo pasado, un grupode expertos y jueces comenza-ron a analizar y a seleccionarlas razas rumanas.
