Tie-dye Activities for Elementary School

Tie-dye can be used to create a wide variety of designs on fabric, from standard patterns such as the spiral, peace sign, diamond, and the marble effect to beautiful works of art.

The process of tie-dye typically consists of folding, twisting, pleating, or crumpling fabric or a garment and binding with string or rubber bands, followed by application of dye(s). The manipulations of the fabric prior to application of dye are called resists, as they partially or completely prevent the applied dye from coloring the fabric.

Objectives: To engage the students into arts. To be creative in making designs and

abstract. To socialize with other people by the

use of technology. To impart them the knowledge of

making designs.

Instructions: The students will be divided into groups,

each group should have four members. They will make their own design of T-shirt using the procedures given. After they made the design of the t-shirt

they will upload the pictures through Facebook.

After uploading, the students will click the like button if they think the picture of the T-shirt is the most presentable .

The highest number of likes will be chosen in bidding the t-shirt.

The bidding will be happened through the use of comments.

The highest bidder will be the one to buy the t-shirt.

The money will be used in the school for the Financial support of the students who will be joining the Academics and sports competition.
