FASTRIM Offline Programming Solution for 3D Machining Centers CENIT is one of the premier service providers for Dassault PLM-Solutions with wide ex- perience in CATIA and DELMIA manufacturing applications, especially in automotive and aircraft industries. A multitude of CENIT manufacturing solutions, tailored for a dedicated application, based on V5 are receiving wide acclaim for their intelligence and ease of use. FASTTRIM, uses the DELMIA Manufacturing and Simulation Infrastructure for a smooth integration of complex trimming and drilling into the V5 platform. Years of cooperating with leading machine manufacturers and the aircraft industry paved the way for a customer-driven tool that covers the entire CAD/CAM process chain for all complex 3D routing and drilling applications, thus bringing added value to our customers due to its flexibility and functionality. The traditional way of generating APT tool path in CATIA, ge- nerating ISO code with a post processer in a separate step and validating this ISO code in an additional simulation interface without any having a link of these tools to each other causes a lot of additional work and redundant processes, especially if machine tool devices such as machine and table controller have to interact with each other. FASTTRIM seamlessly integrates all required software components for fixturing, simple probing, programming and simulation into one single interface / database in V5 and herewith eliminates redundant data sets and un- necessary iteration steps during the part programming process. Offline Programming Solutionfor 3D Machining CentersCENIT is one of the premier service providers for Dassault PLM-Solutions with wide ex-perience in CATIA and DELMIA manufacturing applications, especially in automotive and aircraft industries.

The traditional way of generating APT tool path in CATIA, ge-nerating ISO code with a post processer in a separate step andvalidating this ISO code in an additional simulation interface without any having a link of these tools to each other causes a

lot of additional work and redundant processes, especially if machine tool devices such as machine and table controller haveto interact with each other. FASTTRIM seamlessly integrates all required software components for fixturing, simple probing, programming and simulation into one single interface / database in V5 and herewith eliminates redundant data sets and un- necessary iteration steps during the part programming process.

FoundationA stand-alone FASTTRIM/Router seat includes basic V5 3D Solid Modeling, Surface Design and Assembly Design as well as the V5 DELMIA Simulation Infrastructure. FASTTRIM/Router can also beadded to an existing V5 seat.

Universal Holding Fixtures ■ Support of all types of Universal Holding Fixtures as well

as vacuum cups and related kinematics with an individual UHF workbench

■ Automatic actuator dock and undock ■ Individual technology settings for each actuator. ■ Customizable post processor integrated in UHF workbench ■ Collision check and avoidance for all fixture components ■ Automated design of “egg-grate” fixtures for fast fixturing.

Programming and Simulation ■ Powerful algorithms to generate a smooth and collision-free

tool path for trimming and drilling also for multiple head con figurations

■ Collision check with exact machine tool kinematics and dimensions, clamps and fixtures

■ Powerful Jogging, Teach and Optimize functions to keep complete control over machine motions

■ Very quick programming of any type of macro geometry (holes, rectangles, key-holes, slots) with support of sub programs

■ Macro geometry editor (relocating, transforming, rotating, changing dimensions)

■ Offline teach functions (local offsets to native trim line, transformations, etc.)

■ Automatic or manual unwind operations with respect to machine tool travel limits

■ Tailor-built technology events such as automatic scrap remo- val loops, automatic lead-in and lead-out, clearance paths

■ Multi-Point selection and automatic sequencing for drilling ■ Seamless integration of 3D routing technology, cutting condi-

tions can be set either semi-automatic or fully automatically ■ Knowledge based machining can be accomplished through

CENIT’s macro language. Cutting technology data, machining operations and methods can be captured and stored for reuse.

■ Machine specific control panels allow further customisation of shop floor proven post processors. Infrastructure

■ Intuitive and easy-to-use interface based on Windows 2000 or Windows XP

■ Customizable user input panels and post processors ■ Import and export native CATIA V4 or V5 models and assem-

blies, DXF and IGES (STEP converter available as an option)
