Summer Worship Hours Now that summer is upon us people will be
traveling. It’s a fact of life: There’s always a
drop in church attendance until school begins
in August. Therefore, in order to steward
God’s resources wisely and better focus our efforts, we will be
moving to a Summer Service Schedule for 2018 starting June 3,
2018 at 9:30am. All Summer Worship Services will be held
at 9:30am. The LAST SUMMER 9:30am service at the Fifth
Avenue United Methodist Church will be: Aug. 26, 2018. We
WILL resume regular church worship service on September 2,
2018. at 8:30am and 10:45am.
We know that changes like these affect some more than
others. We're sorry for any inconvenience the temporary change
in schedule might cause you or your family. But it is our
responsibility to steward God's resources in order to get the most
out of our Summer worship experiences. My sincere appreciation
for your attendance, understanding, and especially prayers.
God’s best to you! Pastor Clarissa

Two Sunday Morning
Adult Bible Studies
One of our Adult Bible Study series is
called Journey Through the Bible. This
series' focus is an examination of the Bible
from three dimensions.
Each week we will examine each of these avenues
of thought as we study the Bible book by book. The next in the
series is Matthew. We will be meeting in the Fireside Room at
9:45am every Sunday. Class is led by Jan & Mike Donahou.
Join us as we look deeply into God's Word.
On-going Adult Bible Class
Spring 2018 Acknowledging God - the lessons in our Adult Bible Studies
focus on ways God's people have acknowledged the greatness of
God.
Give Praise to God - The four lessons in this unit, from Exodus,
Leviticus and 2 Corinthians, emphasize the people's response by
bringing offerings and dedicating their lives to God's work.
Join us in the Disciple Room at 9:45am each Sunday to learn
more about the Bible. Our group uses a publication from
Cokesbury (United Methodist Publisher) for our discussions.

Fifth Avenue United
Methodist Church Needs Three
(3)
Stewardship Committee
Volunteers!
The Stewardship Challenge Grant
is a tool for United Methodist
churches in Wisconsin to develop an appropriate, intentional
stewardship plan for their congregation.
By providing a cash incentive, the Stewardship Challenge Grant
is intended to encourage churches to develop a comprehensive
stewardship program to help achieve the goals of the
congregation in the area of stewardship.
To participate in this challenge, FAUMC must have at least
three lay persons commit to working on this challenge.
FAUMC stewardship (Tithes, Talents, & Time) is
experiencing a steady decline, however our ministries,
community projects and commitments, and the growing needs
of the West Bend community are rapidly increasing. We need to
plan and prepare for our future stewardship requirements.
Participating in the Stewardship Challenge Grant will be a
vital tool in aiding our growth in Christian discipleship and
generosity through a growing relationship with God.
Please consider volunteering and contact Pastor Clarissa.

Rev. Deb was Associate Pastor at Fifth Avenue in 2008.
YOUTH SUNDAY TAKE -2
Youth Sunday is a time when the
youth of the church “take over” the
church service and lead the local faith
community in worship. What a great
experience! Reading the scripture, serving communion
and reading a homily, is a WOW experience. Youth today
need to be an active part of the community of faith in
which they reside.
The church NEEDS Youth Sunday for all of us to be
reminded that the story of God is being passed to the next
generation - “youth are the right now.”
Youth Sunday Take-2 will be observed:
May 6, 2018 10:00 a.m.
(Because of the snow storm on April 15, Youth Sunday
has been rescheduled for this date.)
