Parent-Child Mother Goose ProgramA free of charge, group experience for parents/caregivers and their babies and

toddlers, focusing on the pleasure and power of using oral rhymes, songs and

stories together.

Kids have Stress TooThis is a 2 to 4 week workshop that teaches parents about the stress that

children have in their lives. We will talk about the signs and symptoms that

children use to express their stress as well as, discuss some coping techniques

to teach children for dealing with stressors in their lives.

toys to enhance motor skills, role play, cooperation, literacy and more!

Children learn socialization skills through play, while parents can access

Provides opportunity to speak one-on-one with an

Early Childhood Worker about child development issues.

Toy Lending/Parent Resource LibraryAge and developmentally appropriate toys and parent resources such as books

and videos are lent out free of charge to families. Libraries are available in

Fort Saskatchewan, Gibbons, Legal and Redwater Parent Link Centre's.

Educational Backpack ProgramBackpacks filled with educational videos, books, toys and games, etc. are lent

out free of charge to families. Backpacks are divided into three age groups

for children under 6 years of age.

Sunflower Community Resource ProgramOne-on-one support with connection to resources serving families and

children. This includes identification of resources needed and follow-up to

ensure resources met participant’s needs. This service is offered through the

Sunflower community resource program in Gibbons.

Community KitchensThis program provides an opportunity for families to get together and cook in

bulk to divide and share. Parents learn through practice to plan and prepare a

menu. Then the meals are divided according to family size. There is a cost of

$20.00 per session. Some kitchens have a planning day on Thursdays, and

cooking on Fridays. While others are planned by the coordinator and

participants cook on Saturdays. Please call 780-998-5595 ex. 221 to register

and to see when the next Kitchen is, there are usually 3 per month! ! When

you register we will tell you times and locations.

Young Parents GroupA drop in group, free of charge for parents in their mid teens to mid twenties.

This group is participant driven and covers a wide variety of activities and

Angel Whispers

A resource for baby lossAngel Whispers is a free, confidential service for parents who have lost a baby

shortly after birth or during pregnancy, through miscarriage, molar

pregnancy, ectopic pregnancy, or stillbirth.

Angel Whispers offers the following services:

One on one support; Special care packages; Quarterly newsletters; Resource

Library; Drop in support groups; Birth certificate keepsakes.
