Addition-ally, the program is supported with profes-sional photographs of our children withspecial needs. This provides an added visuallens into their world.

Dr. and Mrs. Megna Kids Clubfor Special KidsOur after school program for children withhigh functioning autism presents an oppor-tunity for children to socialize and completenightly homework. Day HabilitationOur day program serves young adults withdevelopmental disabilities. Through occupa-tional activities as well as time for socializa-tion, we prepare our participants for livesrich with community service and lasting re-lationships. The young adults engage in vo-cational tasks both within the communityand at our community center. This includesdelivering their own Meals on Wheels routeas well as watering plants at Staten Island’sSeamen’s Society. Individuals are picked upby our staff before 9:00 AM and dropped offafter 3:00 PM. We provide services Mondaythrough Friday.

Super Special SundaysTwo Sundays each month, up to 3 dozenchildren with a range of special needs cometo our JCC for 3 hours of fun. Camp Independence This specialized camp is for children 6through 11 years old who have diabetes. Global Jewish Connections As participants in UJA Federation’s GlobalJewish Connections, our JCC has developeda close and interactive relationship with oursister city, Pisgat Ze’ev in Israel over thepast eleven years. Three years ago we welcomed Redbridge,

England to this relationship and we havecreated an incredible array of projects be-tween the communities which have helpedto strengthen bonds between us. Staff andBoard members from each of the partnercommunities communicate on a regularbasis. Delegations of both teens and adults will

The JCC/Beacon program at TottenvilleHigh School provides opportunities tocommunity residents of the south shore ofStaten Island. Our goal is to offer addi-tional services such as: academic tutoring,recreation, leadership development andsocial services, all free of charge to ourcommunity. As we enter our third year at Tottenville,

we will be serving over 1,800 students andadults each month. We will continue tooffer services and activities that are nec-essary but not as available to our commu-nity residents as they would like. We willtry and be a resource for a lack of servicesthat our community residents’ desire.

Similar to the IS 49 program, there isan afterschool program for children followed by diverse activities for adults in theevening. Activities at the Beacon Satellite are age appropriate and based on the ex-pressed needs and interests of the participants. In April, 2011 Cornerstone moved intothe Gerard Carter Community Center. Now in its 15th year of service to the com-munities of Park Hill and Stapleton on thenorth shore of Staten Island, the JCC/Bea-con Program offers a wide variety of es-sential services to school age children aswell as adults. Our mission is to provideactivities that are not generally availableto residents of these communities. Regu-larly scheduled afterschool, evening andSaturday programs include academic tu-toring, social services, recreation, leader-ship development, music, dance, art anddrama as well as nutritional counseling,pregnancy prevention, good health rec-ommendations, cultural and educationalspecial events. We provide services to over 1,200 youth

and adults each month.

Registration formHow to Register 1. Fill out a registration form COMPLETELY for each individual registering. Additional forms are available in the Center lobby or you mayduplicate as many forms as you need. 2. Write a check to the JEWISH COMMUNITY CENTER for full tuition to cover all classes and activities requested. 3. Full payment must accompany registration or registration will not be accepted. 4. Place the registration form(s) and your check in an envelope and either address completely for mailing or see the receptionist at ei-ther JCC building. If mailing, mark the envelope "Registration." 5. No confirmation will be sent. Participants are expected at the first session as listed. You will be notified only if a class is cancelled. 6. Non-members may enroll only in those classes that show a non-member fee. 7. Not responsible for typographical errors.
