DESCRIPTION

The Conversion Process which follows regeneration (at point of quickening) is Repentance and Faith (Saving Faith) working hand in hand in an indivisible process. Saving faith is trust in Jesus Christ as a living person for forgiveness of sins and for eternal life with God. It is faith that propels one to take the next step past simply having knowledge of Christ and believing in the facts presented.

We have been looking at Salvation of man; mainly the regeneration aspect and have also looked at the work of the Holy Spirit up to the

point of quickening.

Quickening

We Are Here;Point of Quickening by the Holy Spirit; quickening being the direct and supernatural operation of the Holy Spirit to effect a newness of life in the heart of man, so that he is able to receive the things of God (e.g. Word, directions etc.) Newness of life being the ‘activation’ of the intuition and communion in the spirit of man.

Up to this point we have been dealing with the parts of salvation that do not involved man’s input; all have been done God, The Father; God, The Son –Jesus; and God, The Holy Spirit. At this point man is empowered to MAKE A CHOICE,

This choice is what determines or ‘kick starts’ the conversion process as it is at this point man decides to believe in The Gospel of Jesus Christ (by faith), and Repent towards God forsake everything else to follow Him no matter the cost. “Who, when he had found one pearl of great price, went and sold all that he had, and bought it.” (Matthew 13:44-46)

Regeneration In The Christian life goes on until immortality

There is one glory of the sun, and another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars: for one star differeth from another star in glory. So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown in corruption; it is raised in incorruption: It is sown in dishonour; it is raised in glory: it

is sown in weakness; it is raised in power: It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body. (1 Corinthians 15:41-44)

Page 5: Faith In christian Conversion

As the unregenerate man has only the conscience function of his spirit active and the body and soul also (his heart) exposed

to the elements of the first and second heavens; he will definitely be at odds with God. Intuition & Communion are

Needed

How is Intuition & Communion Made Available?

See Holy Spirit & The

Salvation of Man (Part 2)

Regeneration of the spirit - Summary

This is done through the regeneration of the spirit (direct operation of the Holy Spirit upon the human spirit at salvation). The aspects of the

regeneration of the spirit are:

(The Circumcision of the heart) Release of the conscience from the control of the soul (as it is the only

function of the spirit in the unregenerate heart)

Functions of conscience released from the control of the soul, and is brought under the control of the spirit that is now empowered and

buffered up with intuition and Communion with God (Quickened by the Holy Spirit)

Quickening is the direct and supernatural operation of the Holy Spirit to effect a newness of life in the heart of man, so that he is able to

receive the things of God (e.g. Word, directions etc.) Newness of life being the ‘activation’ of the intuition and communion in the spirit of

man.Quickening is a sovereign work of the Holy Spirit; it is characteristic

of the attributes of God as shown through His Spirit. This sovereignty backed up by the omnipotence of God.

Quickening is entirely an act of consistent, instantaneous, unperceived work of the Grace (unmerited favour) of God. MAN HAS

NO PART TO PLAY IN IT

See Holy Spirit & The Salvation of Man (Part 2)

Quickening is made possible through the work of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ at Calvary:

For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death. (Romans 8:2)

Regeneration (even after the quickening of the Holy Spirit) does not automatically translate into conversion

King Agrippa, believest thou the prophets? I know that thou believest. (But then) Then Agrippa said unto Paul, Almost thou persuadest me to be a Christian. (Acts 26:27-28

emphasis added)

Since the world began was it not heard that any man opened the eyes of one that was born blind. If this man were not of God, he could do nothing. (But then) They answered and said unto him, Thou wast altogether born in sins, and dost thou teach us? And they

cast him out. (John 9:32-34 emhasis added)

There was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews: The same came to Jesus by night, and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come

from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him. (But then) Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. (John 3:1-3 emphasis added)

Is Jesus really now

in my life?????

"I don't feel any

different”

How can I be sure

Jesus has come into my life?

I didn’t get that ‘emotional feeling’ my friends said

they felt when they got saved.

If I die now, I don’t even

know if I will end up in heaven or

hell

“I guess God didn't

really forgive me”

Am I Now A Christian? Saved?????If you were to die today, are you absolutely sure beyond a shadow of doubt that you

would go to heaven?

You may have just recently received Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour and you are still not sure of what happened: You still have

doubts about your salvation and do lack the assurance of your relationship with God - or even worse still, have been saved for years

and still struggling with these doubts:

The Lord has appeared of old to me, saying:

“Yes, I have loved you with an everlasting love;

Therefore with lovingkindness I have drawn you. (Jeremiah

31:3)

Emotions can be misleading – The fact that man is still in the mortal state there could still be those moments of doubts about salvation in times of sorrow, temptation, disappointment etc that may interrupt the moments of great joy, enthusiasm and spiritual awareness and uplifting we feel; then it is the time to remember:

“For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ. “ (2 Corinthians 10:4-5)

For the arrows of the Almighty are within

me; my spirit drinks in their poison; the

terrors of God are arrayed against me

(Job 6:4)

Assurance of

Salvation

There may not necessarily be excitement or emotional outburst

(most often not)

Always remember this!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by

grace you have been saved), (Ephesians 2:5)

For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that

not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, (Ephesians 2:8)

Page 14: Faith In christian Conversion

One ‘Unchangeable Constant’ About Christianity

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. (John 3:16)

So, if to receive God’s love and forgiveness ; is to receive Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour

Now the purpose of the commandment is love from a pure heart, from a good conscience, and from sincere faith. (1 Timothy 1:5)

And,

The soul (being saved) is now reflecting the purity of the heart; meaning that the effect on the soul of the functions of a liberated

conscience, intuition and communion with God is demonstrated; even if and when these are the “substance of things we hope for; and

evidence of things we cannot see”

And the heart (of a saved person) is:

Body – Physical

One ‘Unchangeable Constant’ About Christianity

Then, at this point of being saved and having a regenerated heart, the soul

[(Functions of Will, Intellect & Emotions now being controlled by the spirit (Functions of a liberated conscience, intuition and communion

with God ) that is in turn now also under the control of the Holy Spirit] SHOULD BE COMMITTED SOLELY TO OUR LORD AND SAVIOUR JESUS CHRIST AND ENABLED TO COMPREHEND THE SOLID BIBLICAL

AND HISTORICAL FACTS THAT CHRISTIANITY IS BUILT ON.

Soul – Functions of Will, Intellect & Emotions

The soul being saved should reflect the purity of the heart; meaning that the effect of the functions of a liberated conscience, intuition and communion with God is demonstrated by the assurance (the

confirmation, the title deed) of our righteousness and sanctification and redemption (that we cannot physically see) and the conviction of the reality (perceiving as real what is not revealed to the senses) of

this fact being made real to us by our seeing ourselves hidden in Christ Jesus who became for us wisdom from God.

Just as in Repentan

Regeneration means that one has been born again or born from above.

Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born? Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the

Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born

again. The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit. (John

3:3-8)

The new birth is the work of God, so that all those who are born again are “born of the Spirit” (John 3:8).

The means God uses to grant such new life is the Gospel of Jesus Christ –

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the

dead. (1 Peter 1:3);

Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures. (James 1:18)

The Regeneration before The Conversion

Process

Just as in Repentan

ce

Regeneration or being born again is a supernatural birth. Just as we cannot do anything to be born physically—it just happens to us!—so too we cannot do anything to cause our spiritual rebirth. Only the quickening of the Holy Spirit can set in motion, this spiritual rebirth. As we have seen in The Holy

Spirit & The Salvation of Man (Part 2a)

Page 17: Faith In christian Conversion

A jump start, also called a boost, is a method of starting a vehicle that is unable to be self-started due to insufficient power to the starter motor from a discharged starter battery (also known as an SLI battery). (A starter is an electric motor, pneumatic motor, hydraulic motor, or other device for rotating an internal-combustion engine so as to initiate the engine's operation under its own power.)

Spiritual ‘Jump-start’ from the Holy

Spirit

A temporary connection is made between the discharged battery's terminals and those of another running vehicle, or to some other external power source. When the connection is made, the external supply of current effectively bypasses the battery cells, passing directly into the vehicle's electrical system through the terminal connections and providing the current needed to operate the starter motor. Once the vehicle has been started (and barring any other malfunction in the electrical system), the vehicle's alternator will naturally recharge the battery over a running period ranging from 30 minutes to 3 hours.

Quickening can be likened to a jump start you give to the battery of an automobile when it is ‘flat’

Just as insufficient power from a dead battery to the starter motor of a vehicle renders it unable to start itself; as no food can in any way provide energy for a dead man; although it is the function food to give energy;

Spiritual truth cannot provide Spiritual liveliness to a mind that is dead to righteousness; as such mind is unable to capture the essence of the truth and similarly, Spiritual truth cannot make an unregenerate will to believe.

So that ‘Seeing they may see and not perceive, and hearing they may hear and not understand; lest they should turn, and their sins be forgiven them.’”

And He said to them, “Do you not understand this parable? How then will you understand all the parables? The sower sows the word. And these are the ones by the wayside where the word is sown. When they hear, Satan comes immediately and takes away the word that was sown in their hearts. These likewise are the ones sown on stony ground who, when they hear the word, immediately receive it with gladness; and they have no root in themselves, and so endure only for a time. Afterward, when tribulation or persecution arises for the word’s sake, immediately they stumble. Now these are the ones sown among thorns; they are the ones who hear the word, and the cares of this world, the deceitfulness of riches, and the desires for other things entering in choke the word, and it becomes unfruitful. (Mark 4:12-19)Regeneration is not due to believe: but believe is an

offshoot of regeneration

Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made the same Jesus,

whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ. Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the

apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do? Then Peter said unto them,

Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call. And with many other words did he testify and exhort, saying, Save yourselves from this untoward generation. Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls. And they continued stedfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers. (Acts 2:36-42) And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved? And

they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house. And they spake unto him the word of the Lord, and to all that were in his house. And he took them the same hour of the night, and washed their stripes; and was baptized, he and all his, straightway. And when he had brought them into his house, he set meat before them, and rejoiced, believing in God with all his house. (Acts 16:30-34)

Several texts from 1 John demonstrate that regeneration precedes faith. The texts are as follows: If ye know that he is righteous, ye know that every one that doeth righteousness is born of him. (1 John 2:29) Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God. (1 John 3:9) Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God. (1 John 4:7) Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is born of God: and every one that loveth him that begat loveth him also that is begotten of him. (1 John 5:1)

The Conversion

ProcessThe Conversion Process which follows regeneration (at point of quickening) is

Repentance and Faith (Saving Faith) working hand in hand in an indivisible process. Saving faith is trust in Jesus Christ as a living person for forgiveness of

sins and for eternal life with God. It is faith that propels one to take the next step past simply having knowledge of Christ and believing in the facts

presented.

By Grace Alone Through

Faith

Definition of Favour

Friendly regard shown towards another especially by a superior: Gracious kindness: A special privilege or right granted or conceded: Something done or

granted out of goodwill, rather than from justice or for remuneration:

Divine Favour means God’s Favour, so:

 DIVINE FAVOUR is

GOD’S friendly regard, gracious kindness; special privilege or right He has granted, conceded or shown towards mankind (backed by the superior virtues

that make Him God): Which He has done or granted out of goodwill, rather than from justice or for remuneration.

GRACEDefinition:

Grace is God's unmerited favour. It is kindness from God we don't deserve. There is nothing we have done, nor can ever do to earn this favour. It is a gift from God. Grace is divine assistance given to humans for their regeneration (‘born again’ / rebirth) or sanctification; a virtue coming from God; a state of

sanctification enjoyed through divine favour.

which believeth in Jesus. (Romans 3:24-26)

So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy. For the scripture saith unto Pharaoh, Even for this same purpose have I raised thee up, that I might shew my power in thee, and that my name might be declared

throughout all the earth. Therefore hath he mercy on whom he will have mercy, and whom he will he hardeneth. (Romans 9:16-18)

Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead. And you, being dead in

your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses; Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it

to his cross; And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it. (Colossians 2:12-15)

Grace for Salvation

Grace for Salvation is obtained through the regeneration of the spirit

But when the kindness and the love of God our Saviour toward man appeared, not by works of righteousness which we have done, but

according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit, whom He poured out on

us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour, that having been justified by His grace we should become heirs according to the hope

of eternal life (Titus 3:4-7)

Then I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you shall be clean; I will cleanse you from all your filthiness and from all your idols. I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will take the heart of stone out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will

keep My judgments and do them. (Ezekiel 36:25-27)

Page 32: Faith In christian Conversion

IF YOU believe IN Jesus AND

repentANT OF YOUR SINS THEN you are

saved.

To Repent means: Being sincerely sorry for your sins and bringing them before God (between you and Him); with the aim of not going back to them.

Believe in Jesus Christ: To be the son of God; died and rose up again, and that His finished work on the Cross is more than enough to set you free.

Believe & Faith

Faith is the confident assurance in the character and nature of God; a strong or unshakeable belief in something, without proof or evidence.

But if not, be it known unto thee, O king, that we will not serve thy gods, nor worship the golden image which thou hast set up. (Daniel 3:18)

Believe is a principle, proposition, idea that is accepted as true; opinion, outlook; conviction; trust or confidence.

If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of thine hand, O king. (Daniel 3:17)

There is a distinctive difference between belief and faith.

God is able

But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. (Hebrews 11:6)

The Bible tells us:

No man hath seen God at any time, the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him. (John 1:18)

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son

into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned

already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. (John 3:16-18)

He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him. (John 3:36)

Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live. (John 11:25)

But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every

man. (Hebrews 2:9)

Movement of the Holy Spirit through this

Curtain is only by the Blood Of Jesus. Heb.

10:19-20; 1 John 1:7.

The sole purpose of Quickening is Repentance. Repentance being the informing and changing of the INTELLECT

(Mind) to stir and direct the EMOTIONS to urge the required change; and the action of the yielded WILL in turning away from sin and to God.

YES!! I WILL

Grace (Through) Faith

Here we find the convergence of repentance and faith in the process of conversion. Faith being in general, the persuasion of the mind that a certain

statement is true

Faith

Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that

believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live. (John

11:25)

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him

should not perish, but have everlasting life. (John 3:16)

This ‘persuasion’ of the mind effected only when there is an ‘upgrade’ of the intellect to

intuition.

REPENTANCE TOWARD GOD; FAITH TOWARD OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST (Acts

20:21)

Page 37: Faith In christian Conversion

Twentyfirstcenturyromanhighway.com www.slideshare.net/sab21st © Sabaoth 2014

Informing and Changing of the INTELLECT (Mind) - informing and changing of the way our thoughts, ideas, concepts, reasons,

understanding, knowledge etc. are processed so that they are focused on God.

And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath he reconciled. (Colossians 1:21)

Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. (Colossians 3:2)

The fact that the intellect of man in its ‘natural’ state cannot comprehend the operations of God, as they are beyond it’s scope:

Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. (Romans 8:7)

There needs to be an ‘upgrade’ facilitated by The Holy Spirit. This upgrade is what brings the intellect of man from it’s natural form to

become the intuition.

But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God. For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man

which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God. (1 Corinthians 2:10-11)

(Isaiah 55:6-7; Acts 17:30; Acts 17:30; Acts 8:22; Haggai

Latent

Faith

For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God. (Ephesians 2:8)

I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God,

who loved me, and gave himself for me. (Galatians 2:20)

Just as electricity is there in the wall and waiting for someone to plug or tap into it and release it, so is latent faith that we have in Christ. It is faith in God that comes from God; it is faith in who He is, in all His

virtues.

Finally, brethren, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may have free course, and be glorified, even as it is with you: And that we may be delivered from unreasonable and

wicked men: for all men have not faith. (2 Thessalonians 3:1-2)

Page 39: Faith In christian Conversion

But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name. (John 1:12)

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. (John 3:16)

All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out. (John 6:37)

Faith

In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink. (John 7:37)

Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light. (Matthew 11:28-30)

Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them. (Hebrews 7:25)

evidence of things not seen.” (Hebrews 11:1)

In other words - “Now (IF)

faith is the assurance (the confirmation, the title deed) of the things [we] hope for, being the proof of things [we] do not see and the conviction of

their reality [faith perceiving as real fact what is not revealed to the senses].”

So saving faith in these scenario is,

The assurance (the confirmation, the title deed) of one’s understanding of the fact that he/she is a sinner who is in the process of making the personal decision to trust in Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of sins and receive the salvation Jesus Christ earned for us on the cross. (this process being one you cannot physically see) and the

conviction of the reality (perceiving as real what is not revealed to the senses) of this fact being made real to you by

your seeing yourself hidden in Christ Jesus who became for us wisdom from God.

Saving faith with regards to propitiation derives from a conscious look at; the assurance (the confirmation, the title deed) that comes

from deliberate substantiation of these facts:

The work Jesus did on the cross to appease and satisfy God's wrath so He would be able to pardon sinners who trust in Him (Jesus Christ) is

enough.

The work Jesus did on the cross is God’s way of making amends for our sins. This He does by a process in which the guilt or innocence is

transferred from one person (Jesus) to another (man).

Having Saving Faith In The Gospel of

Jesus

I know that Thou canst do all things, and that no purpose [even salvation] of Thine can be thwarted. (Job 42:2)

And all the inhabitants of the earth are reputed as nothing: and he doeth according to his will in the army of heaven, and among the inhabitants of the earth: and none can stay his

hand, or say unto him, What doest thou? (Daniel 4:35)

this fact being made real to you by your seeing yourself hidden in Christ Jesus who became for us wisdom from God.

Picture your guilt or the consequences of your bad actions being attributed or imputed to Jesus Christ on the Cross at Calvary: So that when it comes to punishment, Jesus, who is the substitute bears the brunt, and then picture

yourself (the substitute) walking away free.

Picture God making reimbursements for your sins (debts) by transferring them to Christ’s account as He hung on the cross at Calvary; so that your account

goes from debit to credit..

These made possible when you:

The absolute sinless life of Jesus Christ makes this transaction possible as His innocence is transferred to those who believe and follow Him

Saving faith with regards to redemption derives from a conscious look at; the assurance (the confirmation, the title deed) that comes from

deliberate substantiation of these facts:

That redemption is the act of our ‘buy-back’. An act by which God, (our original or prospective owner) paid a price – His Son Jesus Christ

(through His sacrificial death) to return man from a present owner (back) to his (God’s) possession.

RedemptionHaving Saving Faith In The Gospel of

Jesus

The benefits already provided for us in redemption include eternal life, forgiveness of sins, righteousness, freedom from the law’s curse,

adoption into God’s family, deliverance from sin’s bondage, peace with God.

Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us (for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree”, that the blessing of Abraham might come upon the Gentiles in Christ Jesus, that we might receive the promise of

the Spirit through faith. (Galatians 3:13-14)

Looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Saviour Jesus Christ, who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from every lawless deed and

purify for Himself His own special people, zealous for good works. (Titus 2:13-14)

Having Saving Faith In The Gospel of

JesusThat through the indwelling of the Holy Spirit, to be redeemed,

retrieved, regained, reached, reclaimed, repossessed then, is to be forgiven, holy, justified, free, adopted, and reconciled.

Picture the slave market where Jesus Christ, through his sacrificial death, purchased believers from the slavery of sin to set us free from that bondage - how Jesus Christ (figuratively) makes you (the redeemed) His own private property by buying You with His own Blood which was shed before the foundation

of the world.

These made possible when you:

Redemption

Picture This:

There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death. For what the law

could not do in that it was weak through the flesh, God did by sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, on account of sin: He condemned sin in the flesh, that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us who do not walk according to the flesh but

according to the Spirit. (Romans 8:1-4)

As redemption always involves going from one thing to something else: Picture Jesus Christ freeing You from the bondage of the law to freedom of a new life in Him so that you are now the possession of the Lord Jesus forever, and will never be put up for sale in any slave

market again.

As redemption also means “to obtain release by the payment of a price" ; “to liberate by payment of ransom”; "to release on receipt of ransom“: Picture yourself being set free from the prison because a price has been paid as a bond The price, in Christianity, being Christ's precious Blood

of Jesus, obtaining our release from sin.

(This process being one you cannot physically see) and the conviction of the reality (perceiving as real what is not revealed to the senses) of this fact being made real to you by your seeing yourself hidden in Christ Jesus who became for us wisdom from God.

"If you, LORD, should mark iniquities, ...who could stand?" (Psalm 130:3).

Apostle Paul gives us the obvious answer:

"There is none righteous, no, not one...." (Romans 3:10).

Saving faith with regards to justification derives from a conscious look at; the assurance (the confirmation, the title deed) that comes

from deliberate substantiation of these facts:

Dictionary Says of Justification:

A good reason or explanation for something

So in other words, Justification is:

The Act or a good reason or explanation for Making Man Right with God by grace through faith In Jesus Christ

Justification is the “Act of God” by which (according to His promise) He approves us based on His own standard of righteousness. This He can legally

do without compromising His divine righteousness because of the finished redemptive work of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ on the Cross at Calvary. This justification can only be obtained through the grace of God and not by

our works.

Imagine yourself in your fallen state (state of sinfulness)

It is impossible for any mortal man to keep the law; in fact no mere man has ever kept the law; the law viciously demands absolute obedience and offers zero mercy so man has to run from the law to seek and obtain salvation by the grace of God in our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. Because, “Therefore, there is now no condemnation (no adjudging guilty of wrong) for those who are in Christ Jesus, who live and walk not after the dictates of the flesh, but

after the dictates of the Spirit.”(Romans 8:1-2)

As justification is a doctrine that is a legal matter to the core; as the word infers, It describes a sinner under trial before the tribunal of a God who is: Life – He is the essence of the breathe of life

Spirit – It is impossible to see Him with human eyes, but through the eye of the spirit

Omnipotence – He has the ultimate power to do whatever He wills

Omnipresence – He fills the whole of creation which makes it possible for Him to be present everywhere at onceOmniscience – He knows all things that can be known in the past, present, future, so nothing can escape His knowledge

Infinity – He is, if I may say, interwoven into all things

Nature of – God’s love for us is just as His attribute of being immutable, it cannot Love change

Immutability – God cannot change because He is the beginning and end ‘Alpha & Omega’

Imagine the guilt of your sins, mistakes or wrongdoings as debts; being lifted away from you and put unto Jesus; and Jesus’ righteousness being put in you.

For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes. (Romans 10:4)

For as by the one man's disobedience the many were made sinners, so by the one man's obedience the many will be made righteous. (Romans 5:19)

For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God. (2 Corinthians 5:21)

This is the application of the righteousness of Jesus Christ to us in our sinful state.

And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies because of his Spirit who

lives in you. (Romans 8:11)

“For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.” (2 Corinthians 5:21)

My little children, these things I write to you, so that you may not sin. And if anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous. And He Himself is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the whole world. (1 John 2:2)

(This process being one you cannot physically see) and the conviction of the reality (perceiving as real what is not revealed to the senses) of this fact being made real to you by your seeing yourself hidden in Christ Jesus who became for us wisdom from God.

What must have happened? How can this be possible

This was made possible and can be applied to you so that you may have saving faith when you:

Having Saving Faith In The Gospel of

Jesus

Picture your sins or mistakes or wrongdoings as debts; as they are all listed on a sheet of paper and then, Jesus pardoning and

releasing you; ‘letting you go’; from them by erasing or ‘wiping them off’ the paper or actually see Jesus shredding this

documents that list your debts, ‘letting go’ and no longer keeping on to them.

And their sins and iniquities will I remember

no more. (Hebrews 10:17)

To give knowledge of salvation unto his people by the remission

of their sins. (Luke 1:77) ,

Justification

‘For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was

lost.' (Luke 19:10)

Page 60: Faith In christian Conversion

IF YOU believe IN Jesus AND

repentANT OF YOUR SINS THEN you are

saved.

To Repent means: Being sincerely sorry for your sins and bringing them before God (between you and Him); with the aim of not going back to them.

Believe in Jesus Christ: To be the son of God; died and rose up again, and that His finished work on the Cross is more than enough to set you free.

True Christian

Conversion

Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. (Matthew 11:28-

29)

Seek ye the Lord while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near: Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the Lord, and he will have mercy

upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon. (Isaiah 55:6-7)

Testifying both to the Jews, and also to the Greeks, repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ. (Acts 20:21)

Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from

dead works, and of faith toward God, (Hebrews 6:1)

So, Hear Jesus saying to you:

True Christian Conversion

A heartfelt determination to turn away for good; from everything that through repentance has been recognized as detestable, that has been

very deeply regretted.

A heartfelt determination to make a final break from everything that up till now had given way to ‘self’

A heartfelt determination by man to turn with his whole will to God - Turn to God alone, the one and only God, who is the Creator of all

things and the Father of all who have a childlike spirit, God who is the Ruler of His eternal Kingdom, the approaching reign of His peace,

justice, and love.

A heartfelt determination by man to turn with his whole will to Christ, the historical Jesus of the four Gospels, Jesus The Christ, who through His Holy Spirit fully reveals God's heart, God's nature, God's character

and will.

Christian

ConversionA heartfelt determination by man to turn with his whole will to the

Spirit of God, Who is the Spirit of Jesus. The converted heart expects everything from The Holy Spirit, who now has dominion over the self-

willed spirit of man. Conversion leads to an undivided heart that listens attentively for The Holy Spirit because he wants, from now on, to be directed, led, and ruled by this Spirit alone and no other (under

the strict guidance of the Word of God as written in the Holy Scriptures – The bible).

Constantly Plugged To ‘The Source’

But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the

glory of the Lord, are changed into the same

image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord. (2 Corinthians 3:18)

Blessed are the pure in heart: for

they shall see God. (Matthew 5:8)

The Heart Of The Matter Is Essentially The Matter Of The Heart.

For in him we live, and move, and have our

being. (Acts 17:28)

Next, We are back to our look at the:

We have now come to the end of our look at The Gospel of Christ Jesus as part of the mini-series -Maintaining a Healthy Fear of God - “While we do His good will, He abides with us still, And with all who will trust and obey.” We started on the Journey of Regeneration– God’s Provisions & Man’s Acts by looking at

Propitiation - It Is Finished; before that, Redemption then Justification as part of God’s Regeneration of man. We then had a look at The Holy Spirit &

Regeneration of Man. How God, According To His Will By The Holy Spirit: Part 1 - Confirms Man As A Sinner & Part 2a - Removes His Sins and Their

Consequences . We finally looked at Christian conversion – Repentance; Good Conscience: Useful Heart and finally Faith.

You might say – "Why do I have to know and experience this Jesus you are going on about?" Here is why, when and how you can get to know Him.

Admit your spiritual need. We all are sinners: nobody likes that title “SINNER”, but the bible says in Romans 3:23 that “all have

sinned and fallen short of the glory of God”.

What is the result of sin? In Romans 6:23 we read “The wages of sin is death…” in other words, every sin is another step

towards death. One thing that we need to remember is that God never sends anyone to hell; one can send himself there by rejecting the truth.

Since we can never measure up to God’s standards by our own strength; God has reached out to mankind.

In Romans 5:8 we read, “God demonstrates His own love towards us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us”. It is Jesus, after all, who is the source of life’s greatest high.

“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. 17 For God did not send His Son into the world to

condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.” (John 3:16-17).

What must a person do to accept this gift?

Page 68: Faith In christian Conversion

Simply receive it! Matthew 11:28 states –“come to me, all you who labour and are heavy laden and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me…for my yoke is easy and my burden is

light”.

Revelation 3:20 says, “Behold I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with me” Jesus stands at the door of your heart and knocks, seeking entrance into your life to give you peace, change you for the best. John 1:12 says : “For as

many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become the children of God”.

If you haven't already received Christ as your Saviour, don't put it off another day! Take time right now to reflect on the state of your life, how does Romans 3:23 apply to you?

Ask God to empower you to see the true state of your heart – “The heart of man is deceitful above all things and desperately wicked; who can know it?” (Jeremiah 17:9) then when enabled, invite Jesus into your life. Confess your sins. Receive His forgiveness and

the gift of eternal life. You might pray something like this:

Dear Jesus, I know that I am a sinner in need of a Saviour. Thank You for dying on the cross for my sins. Thank You for giving me eternal life. Help me to live my life in a way that pleases You, for whatever time You give me here on earth. I look forward to living forever in

Heaven with You. Amen.
