Providing the best yacht paint finish and experience is a straight-forward, but hard to achieve formula: Start with the most seasoned and capable chemists in the industry. Use absolutely the best raw materials. Apply the strictest of quality control. Employ the most sophisticated and precise manufacturing processes. And finally, provide your customer the most experienced, highly trained technical support people who are committed to every customer’s success.

While ALEXSEAL® may be a relatively new name to the market, there is

more marine urethane experience in every ALEXSEAL product than in any other brand. In fact the developers of ALEXSEAL were the visionaries who decades ago first brought aliphatic polyester polyurethanes from the aerospace industry to the marine market. They created the trade of urethane application. When it comes to marine coatings, they have seen it all—in the field and in the lab. In 2002, they set out to create ALEXSEAL, committed to take their vast experience in combination with the latest state-of-

Alexander Marine, the manufacturer of Ocean Alexander yachts, is proud to announce the move to paint all 2013 models exclusively with ALEXSEAL® products. After careful examination of the market and the various products available, Ocean Alexander yachts will now be 100% painted with ALEXSEAL.

An ALEXSEAL high-gloss, impact-resistant surface transmits tremendous depth of color and rich detail. Yet it also stands up beautifully to heat, chemicals and scratches so Ocean Alexander yachts may better survive dings and nicks, as well

as caustic oil, fuel and detergents.

In taking a step towards constant improvement, Alexander Marine made investments to build dedicated paint booth

facilities at the factories in both Taiwan and China to allow the application and use of the entire ALEXSEAL paint system. The current capacity will allow Alexander Marine to paint three yachts concurrently.

Keep an eye out for all of the new models from Alexander Marine. They won’t be hard to identify with their shining ALEXSEAL surface providing a consistently uniform and reliable finish with the highest gloss, durability, and ease of repair.

M/Y Maidelle 63m ICON Yacht Features Full ALEXSEAL® System The philosophy of ICON Yachts is to produce yachts from 60 to 150 meters to the best Northern European standards. Quality is central to ICON’s philosophy just as it is for ALEXSEAL® Yacht Coatings.

Producing a world class yacht requires the expertise of ICON’s specialist staff together with the know-how of industry

leading partners, like ALEXSEAL.

Much like ALEXSEAL, their in-house quality control team keeps a close eye on every detail from start to finish, as evidenced with the recently launched 205 ft. (62.5m) M/Y Maidelle. This steel & aluminum yacht was

specially designed for the experienced owner with an exterior design by industry-recognized Redman Whiteley Dixon Design, and complemented by a state-of-the-art, full ALEXSEAL system finish applied by Bonsink Yacht Painters.

There is no understating the amount of technology in a can of ALEXSEAL, but the greatest finishes require the best preparation and base layers. ICON’s applicators have an entrenched understanding of ALEXSEAL’s primers, fillers, and surfacing products that are formulated to optimize the results of the

topcoat. M/Y Maidelle is the ambassador of style, performance and efficiency that provide both ICON and ALEXSEAL with an enormous sense of pride.

ALEXSEAL® the Preferred Choice for the Ultimate Carbon Fiber Xtenders®

As ALEXSEAL® has quickly become the preferred choice for a superior finish on yachts across the globe, the same durability and radiance is also desired for their tenders. Xtenders®, one of the ultimate superyacht tenders, have joined forces with ALEXSEAL to paint its line of carbon fiber ribs.

Using Formula 1® autoclave carbon fiber technology, Xtenders manufactures the most innovative, durable, fuel saving and carbon footprint reducing tenders in the industry. Innovation, enthusiasm and passion for excellence are principal drivers

of this pioneering company chosen to build three rib configurations for the 2012 America’s Cup®.

Reducing the weight of our coating system & minimizing environmental impact is also a major mission at ALEXSEAL. When we formulate our coatings, we evaluate wet and dry material weight, film thickness, and paint consumption to develop a system with high performance characteristics and minimal weight. Additionally, these measures help save energy and preserve resources. Attributes of ALEXSEAL are an ideal match for Xtenders, and the boat

building industry at large — providing competitively superior products to highly demanding projects. Xtenders and ALEXSEAL are constantly innovating to be first among our competitors.

real-life experience. Nordlund has teamed with ALEXSEAL to deliver many yachts – on schedule and as promised – including their 115’ Sportfisher. With many of the boats Nordlund has built for repeat owners, it is a testament to the relationships this family-run business has built with their suppliers and vendors, with the people who make these exceptional boats, and the owners who have the passion to imagine them. Nordlund owners enjoy the experience of building a boat at Nordlund, and ALEXSEAL is delighted to be a part of this partnership that is rewarding for everyone involved.

Nordlund’s Radically New Custom Builds Include ALEXSEAL® Self-defined as flexible and experienced, Nordlund Custom Boat Builders construct boats that are 100% custom. The talented crew at Nordlund enjoys new challenges – from small details to radically new thinking, they have the ability to do things in boat building that other yards cannot. Just like ALEXSEAL®, they work with you to explore new ideas, weigh the options and come up with solutions. ALEXSEAL’s parent company, Mankiewicz, has used their 100-plus years of innovation to provide more urethane experience in every ALEXSEAL product than any of our competitors.

Nordlund yachts have also been refined over time with the experience gained by handling any weather, and every imaginable sea condition. Both companies share the philosophy that there is just no substitute for

angle of the windows in the wheelhouse and the shape of the stanchions. In addition to cutting edge design, the NED 70 also presents its owners with all the luxury you can imagine, and a remarkable range – you can cross the Atlantic and pick an anchor bay on Barbados, and also long-range cruise the vast Dutch ‘Wadden-area’.

Vripack’s professionals are a leading force in high quality, full service yacht design and engineering, and it gives the entire ALEXSEAL and Mankiewicz family great pride to work with them as our partners in excellence.

The 21.45m NED 70 is a head-turning yacht designed by The Netherlands’ award winning Vripack naval architects. This all-aluminum yacht features the ALEXSEAL® full system

- from Protective Primer 161 for corrosion protection and adhesion promotion on steel and aluminum substrates to its majestic metallic topsides. Built to comply with the principles of LDL (Low Displacement Length), where the vessel’s volume is fundamental, but the lines of the vessel itself are leading in the design, the NED 70 boasts strikingly slender but powerful contours accentuated by ALEXSEAL’s distinctive aluminum and pearlescent pigmentation.

When you look at the NED 70, the slender shape of this stunning new 4:1 length/width ratio motoryacht is accentuated by the

HYS Yachts & ALEXSEAL® - Making This Journey Your Own Being one of the world’s largest archipelagos, the Philippines has a proud and great seafaring history stretching back thousands of years. Among this diverse marine ecosystem, you will also find some of the world’s most meticulous and highly skilled craftsmen - like the proud artisans at HYS Yachts.

While “ground-up” commercial to luxury yacht conversions remain the specialty of HYS, they have also become widely recognized and trusted as the luxury yacht refit yard of choice throughout the Southeast Asian region. Each HYS Yachts

project has one very specialized overall objective: to refit, redesign, and/or re-purpose aging vessels into unique and luxurious masterworks of ocean-going beauty, comfort, and functionality.

That’s where ALEXSEAL is honored to help – on time and on budget. Together we apply our respective world-class expertise and an uncompromising passion for perfection, as shown here on HYS’ recently refitted Azimut 60, Plan B. With real world challenges in mind, HYS Yachts has produced exceptional applications using ALEXSEAL with both a spray gun

and a brush. The end result that HYS and ALEXSEAL can achieve together for your project is the final step in a journey of uncommon pleasure and pride.

More Than Just the World’s Best Marine Coatings

Continued from Page 1

the-art availabilities in raw materials to the next level — using materials that did not exist when earlier generation products were formulated and are still not found in competitive products today. The skills of the more than 150 chemists and over 100 years of manufacturing experience of ALEXSEAL’s parent company, Mankiewicz, continue to innovate and use more advanced raw materials than the competition.

Just as a great recipe does not always make a great meal, great ingredients alone don’t always make a great marine paint. That’s why every single batch of ALEXSEAL products is first mixed in a smaller test volume, sprayed out, and matched to a set of master paint chips under several lighting conditions. Color matching is an absolute passion and obsession at ALEXSEAL. The difference between two similar colors is called “delta-E”. The instruments ALEXSEAL uses to test the delta-E are much more discerning than even the finest artist’s eye. Only after the pilot batch matches precisely and with a difference from the master chips which is undetectable by the human eye, is the batch scaled up to complete the production run. The chips on the ALEXSEAL Premium Topcoat 501 color cards you receive are actual paint, not printing ink. With every batch matching the master chips, you know that the color you see on the color card will be the color of the paint you buy today, will perfectly match the paint you bought last month and will be the same color you can buy in the future.

“I’ve been painting boats for 33 years. For the last six years, I have used only ALEXSEAL products. The whole range of products is foolproof. We now specialize in metallic painting of luxury

yachts with the ALEXSEAL metallic system. The quality is in every product and it stays there. I’ve never had a warranty complaint from our customers with ALEXSEAL products — no yellowing, no fading, just no problems at all.” — Peter Dijkstra, Peter Dijkstra Yacht Painting

The basic formulation of ALEXSEAL Topcoats has been proven, stable

and unchanged for longer than any other in the industry. What does this mean to you as an owner, project manager, yacht builder, or applicator? Reliability. You can trust that you will always get the same high gloss, highly durable, and easy-to-repair finish from

today’s can of ALEXSEAL as you did ten years ago, and as you will ten years from now. No one else has delivered this consistency of quality to the market. Our good name depends on the results—No one should have to accept a finish that fails due to changing or experimental formulations. You can count on ALEXSEAL to provide the products that will give you consistently superior results. After all, Mankiewicz has been producing the highest quality coatings for over 100 years and every ALEXSEAL product benefits from this experience and dedication to quality. It’s no wonder Mankiewicz has received Daimler’s highest supplier rating of VDA 6.3, something no other paint manufacturer has achieved.

ALEXSEAL is not just about what’s in the can. Our business is not just about boats; it’s about people—the people who design yachts, the people who build them, the people who manage the construction or refitting of them, the people who apply their finish, and the people who own and enjoy them.

The ALEXSEAL team knows boats. So you know when you have a question, the person answering the phone or our representative on-site with you has been in your shoes and knows your concerns and needs. For example, if you want to know how to paint your bilge to make it easier to clean, or clear coat your transom to resist soot buildup, our people not only know how, they know exactly why you would want to do that. It’s this understanding that allows them to provide insights and techniques to you that others can’t. We are proud of our people and they are proud to be of service to you — be it on a new yacht or a repair, a superyacht, commercial vessel, charter catamaran, aluminum monohull, or a do-it-yourself refit — they are genuinely invested in the success of your finish.

When you’re ready to learn more about the world’s best coatings system, call us. Let’s do a project together. We know once you do, you’ll welcome the extent to which our entire team will go to ensure ALEXSEAL is specified on all of your future projects. We are in the yards and on the docks to solve any technical challenges. We are in the lab and on the loading dock to ensure your shipment goes out on time, as ordered. And when you call ALEXSEAL, an experienced coatings professional with a genuine concern for the success of your project’s finish is there for you. What are you waiting for? Give us a try.

With ALEXSEAL® now in demand and available in almost all major ports around the world, we are expanding our sales team and training programs as our distributor and applicator networks continue to swell. Your ALEXSEAL sales representatives are industry professionals, all with technical educations and most with many years of real-life in-the-field marine urethane application experience. Our team is on the docks and spends a substantial portion of their time in the field conducting on-site seminars, in addition to lab training programs now available on two continents.

Whether you receive your ALEXSEAL training one-on-one at your facility, or as part of a group in our training facilities in Hamburg,

Germany or in Charleston, South Carolina, you will receive personal instruction from our technical staff’s extensive experience. This training is not just about ALEXSEAL products – we strive to make you a better applicator, getting more from your equipment, becoming more efficient and getting the most from the products you apply. We encourage feedback from you to facilitate an open dialogue about the everyday issues painters face. In our spray booth, we’ll have you apply our complete

system to panels that you can take back to your yard. We also help you master both spray and brush techniques on actual substrates.
