This booklet is part of your essential toolkit for coming to AIT so make sure to keep it handy and study your Induction timetable to ensure you don’t miss out!

First things first1. Complete on-line Registration. You will need

your Student Number which is available on your introduction letter. (starts with A..). BRING THIS ID NUMBER WITH YOU to Induction, record it on your phone, it’s yours for your whole time in AIT, and will also form your student email e.g. [email protected]

2. Next complete the steps to get your AIT Student ID Card.

3. To Log onto Moodle: • Go to› Quicklinks› in the top right hand corner of www.ait.ie• Click ‹Moodle 2020-2021›• Log in with your student number ‹A00xxxxxx›,

the password is set to your 8 digit date of birth ‹dd/mm/yyyy› (we recommend you reset this for optimum security). This will be your username

and password for all computers and printers in AIT.

The Ultimate Guide for First Years – MOODLEHere you will see your Induction starting point, with key information ‘tiles’. Have a good look around this resource, check out the tiles. To join your live ZOOM induction webinars you will need to log into this page, see No.3 above and go directly to the Faculty of Business & Hospitality tile.

Your New Student Induction activities take place over a two-week period. These activities take the form of remote access ZOOM webinars, onsite activities and learning opportunities which have been tailored to help you with a few essentials, get to know fellow classmates and learn how to find your way around the campus. Once classes commence, we have a programme of events called AIT Connect which has been designed to get you off to a flying start, details

are included with your Registration Pack. Event and workshop information will be advertised through social media. We will also promote events through email so make sure to check your AIT student email regularly!

Where do I go, how do I join into Induction? You will join all your Induction webinars through Moodle. Details are in this brochure, on your Moodle ‘Ultimate Guide for First Years’ page and on the main AIT website, see No. 3 adjacent for instructions. Find your group by looking for your course title at the top of the timetable on the next page, and follow the timetable directly underneath for that group.

Social MediaCheck out the AIT Student Resource Centre on Facebook, the AIT Students’ Union on Facebook, and their Snapchat and Instagram accounts to hear about what is happening throughout the college year. Follow your Faculty Instagram account (Qr code on front cover) which is being run by a fellow student in your faculty who is happy to answer any questions, big or small, and will be posting helpful stories to help you settle in and find your way around.

Welcome TalksAt your live ZOOM webinar Welcome Talk, you will meet the President, the Registrar, your Dean of Faculty and your Head of Department. At the end of this session you will join smaller groups and you will learn more about your Orientation and Campus Tour.

Orientation & campus TourYou will team up with classmates and a designated Lecturer who will show you around and give you essential course information and timetables. This is a great chance to get to know your way around and meet new people.

Faculty SOCIALWe have a fun live ZOOM webinar planned for you where you will get to virtually meet other students in your faculty, hang out with classmates and play a fun game. So order your pizza, grab your beverage of choice and join in!

IT WebinarDuring your live ZOOM IT webinar you will be shown how to use the technical resources in AIT including your remote virtual learning environment, Moodle.

Meet the SUThis is your chance to pick up your FREE Freshers Pack. You will meet your Students’ Union representatives on campus and hear about all the supports and services on offer plus all the events the Students’ Union runs throughout the year!

Library WebinarThis live ZOOM webinar is where you will learn about valuable library resources and how to find your way around.
