TEDXNAVESINK FAQS TEDxNavesink: The Next Wave Friday, September 20, 8 a.m. 5 p.m. Community College Performing Arts Center, Lincroft, NJ At TEDxNavesink 360 guests will enjoy 24 live talks and 100 minutes of live and prerecorded material from TEDxCity2.0 taking place at Times Center NYC and in major cities around the world. Innovators in education, technology, science and sustainability will give the talks of their lives during 518 minute presentations that focus on their contributions, thoughts and vision for the future of the New Jersey Shore. TEDxNavesink is the first TEDx event to arrive to Monmouth County, NJ and is anticipated to become an annual program. TEDxNavesink is organized in partnership with the Monmouth County Arts Council as well as supported by many nonprofit partners, media sponsors and financial contributors. It started out in 1984 as a conference bringing together people from three worlds: Technology, Entertainment, Design. Since then its scope has become ever broader. Along with two annual conferences the TED Conference and TEDGlobal TED includes the awardwinning TED Talks video site, the Open Translation Project and TED Conversations, the inspiring TED Fellows and TEDx programs, and the annual TED Prize. TED conferences bring together the world's most fascinating thinkers and doers, who are challenged to give the talk of their lives (in 18 minutes or less). The TEDx program gives communities, organizations and individuals the opportunity to stimulate dialogue through TEDlike experiences at the local level. TEDx events are planned and coordinated independently. On TED.com more than 1500 TED Talks are available for free viewing, with more added each week. All of the talks are subtitled in English, and many in other languages, too. These videos are released under a Creative Commons BYNCND license, so they can be freely shared and reposted.
