Expository Reading and Writing Course (ERWC) for Middle School Teachers - CANCELED Participants will gain the knowledge and acquire the materials required to teach the newly released ERWC modules for seventh and eighth grades. During this three-day course, teachers will: Learn how to integrate the eight middle school modules as part of their own course curriculum Learn to engage students in building the crucial literacy skills they need to succeed in college and careers Acquire knowledge of what it means to read and write rhetorically at the middle school level Participation in this series of workshops includes access to ERWC materials for grades 7-8, theoretical understanding of ERWC, module outlines for teachers and students, and strategies for using course materials. Workshop schedule: Monday, February 6 | 8:30am-3:00pm Tuesday, February 7 | 8:30am-3:00pm Wednesday, March 15 | 8:30am-3:00pm Note Regarding Payment: You must select CHECK or CREDIT CARD to complete this registration. Check (paid by you or your district/school via a purchase order process): After you register you will receive a confirmation / invoice. If you are paying for the event yourself, print your confirmation / invoice, attach your check, and mail as indicated. If your district or school is paying for the event, please forward your confirmation / invoice to the appropriate person so that a check can be processed via your district/school's purchase order (PO) process. SCOE does not require a copy of the PO, as an invoice is sent at the time of event registration. Credit card (PayPal): You must enter credit card information at the time of registration. If you are being reimbursed for this event, follow your district/school guidelines for reimbursement.
