    High reliability

Scheme of the suctioning hydrostatic fan

  • 38

    High reliability

Advantages of the Liebherr cooling system

    Suctioning fan

As the air flow is directed straight to the cooler, small

particles, such as sand do not cause any wear

With the suctioning fan, the „Hub hole“ in the centre of

the cooler is used so that the cooling performance is

    considerably increased

Fan with reversible rotation direction (option)

The rotation of the fan reverses automatically each 30

    minutes.

This feature is recommended for applications such landfill

and stockpiling coal and woodchips (dusty applications)

    High reliability

    Advantages of Liebherr Cooling System

    Radiator with big fin gaps

Less wear (also in sand applications)

    Reduced blocking of radiator vents

due to the high fin distances

    Hydrostatic driven fans

    Constant engine and oil temperature

In case of maximum engine power the

    hydrostatic fan remains at maximum

    speed

Quick warm up of the diesel engine

    Less noise level

    Constant engine speed keeps fuel

    consumption low

    Low engine speed (1.600 rpm)

    provides best combustion

The engine nominal speed is in

    fuel consumption – maximum

    operating economy is assured

    Caterpillar says:

Sprocket is out of dirty area - means less wear of sprocket and bushes

Gearbox is out of dirty area - means less stress load of gearbox sealing

    Liebherr says:

There sticks material between sprockets and bushes too (pic 1)

Cumulated material will enter space between sprocket and track frame

    (1) and presses gearbox from the bottom up (2) – high stress load of final

    drive bearings

    Standard track vs. Delta drive

    Standard track

Low mounted hydrostatic travel drive components

and the design of the standard undercarriage allows

    a low centre of gravity

Less danger of overturning during traversing slopes

    Delta drive

Centre of gravity is higher due to high position of

    torque converter an gear box:

Danger of overturning when traversing slopes
