Macbeth Essay Reflection

For this paper I had to dissect the actions of both Macbeth and Lady Macbeth in William

Shakespeare’s ‘Macbeth’ and figure out their psychological diagnosis. For research on this paper

I looked up multiple psychological illnesses and disorders and tried to connect them to

‘Macbeth’ main characters. For example Macbeth suffers from Psychotic Depression after

murdering King Duncan and Banquo and Lady Macbeth suffers from Major Depression leading

her to take her own life. I want to major in clinical psychology when I enter college. This paper

was my first exposure into the field of abnormal psychology. I found abnormal psychology

fascinating and decided I wanted to use this paper as one of my exemplars. Writing this paper

and researching abnormal psychology will give me a base of experience and knowledge about

psychology even before I enter college. This paper furthered my interest in psychology and

further motivated me to peruse psychology as a major.
