Tailored, two year curriculum focusing on college teaching and higher educa-tion that includes 21 credits of content course-work, 12 credits of scholarly re-search courses, 12 credits in professional portfolio study and 9 credits of mentored/internship teaching.
Non-dissertation doctoral degree with scholarly portfolio as the cap-stone.
Mentors from the UI faculty or another approved college who advise the student through the process.
Program delivered at BYU-I designed specifically for BYU-I faculty career goals.
Participation supported and encouraged by the administration of BYU-I to advance the strategic goals of the university and its employees.
Cohort program provides additional op-portunities for a community of learners who have made a commitment to complete the program together over a two years.
The Program is contingent on a minimum of 25 candidates.
The Mentored Teaching Intern-ship: a tailored mentoring curriculum of 9 credits that includes but is not lim-
ited to • Classroom teaching observa-tions and discussions with a senior BYU faculty mentor and UI advisor designed to enhance teaching performance in three modalities—live, online, and hy-
brid • Independent research on topics designed to advance a specific teaching field for immediate application to teach-
ing load • Independent research on top-ics designed to advance a specific re-search technique. Professional Capstone Portfolio: a tailored curriculum of 12 credits which organizes Academic Core, Research Core, and Higher Education Internship course work into unified portfolio presented to the faculty and peers as the degree exit event. The Portfolio takes the form of arti-facts, proposed research articles, applied projects, or creative work assembled as a result of experiential rounds with public agency, corporate and higher education placement arranged by the candidate and mentor/advisor. It may include, but is
not limited to • Observations/shadowing and journaling with three professionals: a public agency, corporate, and higher
education practitioner. • Completion of a leadership task, report, or scholarly re-search requested by a public agency, cor-porate, or higher education professional. Additional details can be found on

• Complete the University of Idaho
College of Graduate Studies application requirements. Information is available at Graduate Admissions

• Submit a Letter of Interest and vita
by June 30, 2010 to the University of Idaho College of Education Dean de-scribing your intent and abilities to com-plete the program. See the address for Dean Mantle-Bromley in this brochure. The cohort requires a minimum of 25 students.
• Complete the University of Idaho Ex-
ecutive Ed.D. application. The applica-tion will be sent to prospective candi-dates after receipt of the Letter of Inter-est.
• Successfully interview with the Pro-
gram Director and staff as arranged in the Fall semester of 2010 by the Univer-sity of Idaho. The interview is the final step in selecting 25 cohort candidates for the January 2011 semester.
