Excel 2003 - Macros 1. Recording a Macro : a. Click on Tools menu, choose Macro, then choose Record New Macro; b. Type macro name, store macro in Personal Macro Workbook; c. Click in Shortcut Key box and press keys you’d like to use to run this macro in the future (this is optional); d. Click OK. From now on, everything you do will be recorded as part of the macro. e. Find the tiny Macro toolbar and decide whether your macro will contain an absolute or relative reference (i.e., whether the macro will always start in the cell that is currently selected in the Excel spreadsheet on your screen, or whether the actions will take place starting from the cell you’re in later when you’re running the macro); f. Perform the actions to be included in the macro; g. Click Stop button on Macro toolbar when done. 2. Assigning Toolbar Button to a Macro : a. Click on Tools menu, choose Customize; b. Click on Commands tab; c. Select Macros category on left; d. Drag custom toolbar button to toolbar area at top; e. Then immediately click the Modify Selection button to change the name of the toolbar button, the image associated with the button, etc.; f. Click Close when done. 3. Using a Macro : a. Use assigned shortcut keys, OR b. Click on toolbar button and select Macro to assign the button to; c. From now on, clicking that button will run the macro. 4. Deleting a Macro : a.
