INTERNAL ASSESSMENT

There shall be a maximum of 25 InternalAssessment Marks in each theory or practical

paper. For seminars, the Internal Assessment marks

INTERNAL ASSESSMENT

The Internal Assessment marks in a theory paper shall bebased on two tests generally conducted at the end of 8 and12 weeks of each semester. An additional test may beconducted for the desirous students before the end of the

semester to give an opportunity to such students toimprove their Internal Assessment Marks, The test shall beanswered in Blue Books with pages serially numbered.These blue books shall be kept in the custody of thePrincipal of the College until after one month from the dateof announcement of the result by the University. Theseshall be made available to University authorities for

verification as per the directions of the Registrar(Evaluation)/ Registrar

If a candidate remains absent for all the InternalAssessment tests conducted, the Internal AssessmentMarks shall be marked as A for the subject againstthe University Seat Number (USN) of the candidatein the marks sheet submitted to the University by thePrincipal of the College.

The final list, incorporating corrections (if any) of IAmarks awarded to the students in theTheory/Practical/Project work/ Seminar, shall bedisplayed on the notice board of the college at leastseven days before the closure of the semester and acertified copy of the same shall be sent by thePrincipals to the University Examination Sectionwithin the stipulated date. Every page of the IA markssheet shall bear the signatures of the concernedTeacher/Teachers, Head of the Department and

Principal.

ELIGIBILITY FOR PASSING

For a pass in a theory subject/drawing, thecandidate shall secure minimum of 35% of themaximum marks prescribed in the University

examination and 40% of marks in the aggregateinclusive of the IA marks

The candidates who do not satisfy the condition OB 5.1shall be deemed to have failed in that subject and mayreappear for the University examination in thesubsequent examinations. However, the IA marks

awarded to the candidate/s at first attempt in theconcerned theory subject will be carried forward. Incase of Practical/Projects/Seminar revised marks willbe taken as per regulations OB 4.10 (a & b) and OB 4.11

The candidate who passes a subject of a semester asper OB 5.1 shall not be allowed to appear for thesame again, unless he/she opts for rejection ofresults as per OB 5.4, 5.5, 5.6, 5.7 & 5.8.

A candidate may at his desire reject his totalperformance of a semester (including IA marks) orhe may reject the result of his performance inUniversity examination of a semester only. Providedthat the rejection is permitted only once during theentire course of study.

The candidate who desires to reject the performanceas per OB 5.4 shall reject performance in all thesubjects of the semester, irrespective of whether thecandidate has passed or failed in any subject.However, the rejection of performance of 8thsemester project results shall not be permitted.

A candidate, who desires to reject the total performance of thesemester including Internal Assessment, has to take readmission forthe relevant semester. Application for such readmission shall besent to the Registrar through the Principal of College within 30 daysfrom the date of the announcement of the results. Late submission

of application shall not be accepted for any reasons. Readmission toFirst semester in such cases shall not be considered as freshadmission i.e., the candidate will continue to have the sameUniversity Seat Number, which was allotted earlier.

The candidate, who desires to reject only the results of Universityexamination of a semester and does not desire readmission, shall bepermitted to re-appear for examinations of all the subjects of the semesterin the subsequent examinations. However, the IA marks obtained by thecandidate in the rejected semester shall be retained. Applications for suchrejection shall be sent to the Registrar (Evaluation) through the Principal ofthe College within 30 days from the date of announcement of the results.

Late submission of applications shall not be accepted for any reasons. If the rejection of the University examination results of the semester

happens to be of an odd semester, the candidate shall be allowed to takeadmission to the immediate next even semester. However, if the rejectionof the University result is of even semester, the candidate shall not beallowed to take admission to the next odd semester.

Such candidates who opt for rejection at final yearare eligible for the award of class and distinction atthe B.E./ B.Tech., degree level, but are not eligiblefor the award of ranks.

A candidate shall be declared to have completed thecourse of B.E./B.Tech., degree, provided thecandidate has undergone the stipulated course workin all eight semesters as per the regulations.
