In the 1st six years of the program, over 280,000 people have utilized the “Safe Ride” program. The program was developed by the University of Wisconsin – La Crosse Student Association in cooperation with the City’s Mass Transit Authority. The program is currently administered by the La Crosse Tri-Campus Group and financed through student tuition fees. The program has been a model for other college communities throughout the state.
