Welcome The Rev. Dr. Faulkner

WE PRAISE THE TRIUNE GOD

Gathering Around the Advent Wreath Kurt & Willemijn Goetz, Jay Goetz God’s Prophetic Word Isaiah 35:1-3

Litany for the Advent Candles In the night of our lives, God is shining the light of his compassion. We light this candle to remember that God’s Light is coming close. Advent means coming. We are full of expectation! Lord, make us ready to receive your glory with obedience. Lord, make us ready to greet you with child-like wonder!

Let us walk in the light of the Lord. Advent Prayer (unison)

Prepare the way, O God, for your Son to enter our hearts. By the power of his mercy, love and grace may we be changed and made anew. With the help of the Holy Spirit, our Advocate, may we answer your invitation to abide with you. In the name of Christ we pray. Amen.

Lighting of the Third Advent Candle Hymn 9 (verse 3 only) O Come, O Come, Emmanuel

O come, Desire of nations, bind All peoples in one heart and mind; Bid envy, strife, and discord cease; Fill the whole world with heaven’s peace. Rejoice! Rejoice! Emmanuel shall come to thee, O Israel.

WE TURN FROM SIN AND SEEK HOLINESS Call to Confession Ms. Stephanie Dion, Pastoral Intern Prayer of Confession (unison) Ms. Stephanie Dion

Steadfast God, with faith we acknowledge your care and love for us. With joy we acknowledge that our help is in you, the Maker of heaven and earth. With hope, we acknowledge you as our Maker and also our Re-Maker through the life and death of the One born in Bethlehem. We ask your mercy in those places where we do not live as your forgiven and remade people. In those ways that we have not given witness to your great glory, forgive us, good and gracious Lord. Renew us in your love and grant us solid joy that lasts long beyond this Christmas season and that equips us to face the adversities of life with the glory of your saving work in the Lord Jesus, for this we ask in his holy Name. Amen.

Assurance of God’s Mercy Ms. Stephanie Dion Thanks be to God! *Gloria Patri No. 579

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son and to the Holy Ghost, as it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be, world without end. Amen. Amen.

Our Stewardship Campaign continues during December. The theme of this year’s campaign is “Generations of Generosity”. This theme highlights how generations of families have contributed to Trinity’s growth and benefited from the enduring presence of our Church. Speakers have recognized the vibrant Trinity programs and the importance of a church family that spans and supports all generations. To date, $541,300.00 in pledges have been received. This amount is 85% of our pledge goal of $640,000, which is required to simply support the current staff, programs and mission at Trinity. All Church members should have received their 2017 pledge cards during the first week in November. The pledge card was accompanied by a letter that outlines the financial commitment needed to support the life of our Church. We prayerfully request that all pledges be mailed to the Church office. A timely return of your pledge is required to develop our 2017 budget. Please also consider using EasyTithe to manage and monitor your pledge throughout the year. Thank you for your continued support of Trinity! “We will not hide them from their children; we will tell to the coming generation the glorious deeds of the LORD, and his might, and the wonders that he has done.” Psalm 78:3

Cancer and Conversation Whether you have recently been diagnosed, are currently receiving treatment or are a survivor, you are not alone. Trinity’s Cancer and Conversation is a group that offers comfort, support and camaraderie to Trinity members with that dreaded disease. Our greater goal, however, is to be a mission at Trinity, a mission that hopes to both help and educate our greater Trinity membership. Want to turn your cancer into a worthwhile mission? Please join us TODAY, in the Hospitality Room at 10:40 AM. Grab a coffee in the social hall and join us for a time of reflection, support and mission work as we share our experiences and also work on upcoming projects. Join us for the Third Annual Trinity Nativity Walk! The Membership Committee is planning the Nativity Walk to take place after worship on Sunday, December 18th. Bring in your favorite crèche before the service that morning and set it up in the designated location in Fellowship Hall. During Coffee Hour, members of the congregation will walk around to view the various nativity scenes. Whether it‘s a clothespin crèche made by your children at church school or a family heirloom handed down through the generations, if you‘d like to share it for the morning, we‘d love to see it! You‘ll take your crèche home with you that day! If you‘re interested in participating, please sign up during coffee hour TODAY.

EasyTithe, our online giving option, allows you to make your offering electronically. This option makes giving more convenient for you (no more checks to write) and ensures consistency in your giving which helps the church manage its cash flow requirements better. EasyTithe can be accessed through your computer, tablet and cell phone. The setup process is very straightforward and can be accomplished in just a couple of minutes. To sign up, go to Trinity’s home page and click on “Online Giving” or go directly to www.easytithe.com/trinpres. An EasyTithe app is also available for download to your tablet or cell phone. Once you’re set up, you can also text a gift in one simple step! Our phone number for text giving is 856-238-5444. We encourage all members to establish automatic recurring gifts using EasyTithe.

Christmas Eve Social Don't miss our annual Christmas

Eve Social, held in Fellowship Hall at the close of the 7:00pm candlelight

communion service. This is the perfect opportunity to share a warm drink, a sweet treat and conversation with special people

on the eve of Christ's birth. What better way to begin your Christmas

celebration? See you there!

One Basket, So Many Blessings! Have you signed up to provide flowers for Sunday Worship? It is a small mission that means more than you know! The 2017 chart is now available.

One basket of flowers is given to honor someone you love and words of sentiment appear in the bulletin on the Sunday for which the flowers are donated. That same basket of flowers then blesses all who enjoy it during Sunday morning worship. When the service is over, our deacons take the basket you donated to someone whose spirits need lifting, or who is celebrating a life milestone, such as a baptism. The church has received countless calls and letters of thanks from members after receiving the flowers– what we hear most is that the flowers truly meant more than we could know.

This is a year round mission, and there is an opportunity for two people to donate baskets of flowers every Sunday of the year. Many donate around a date of significance in their lives, to remember loved ones, and to celebrate anniversaries, new life and new beginnings. To donate flowers, sign up for a spot on the flower cal-endar in Fellowship Hall. Please consider honoring a loved one, worshiping God, and blessing the congregation and its members with this small but meaningful mission! There are still spaces open to sign up on January 29, February 5, 19, & 26., 2017.
