Magazine Advertisement

A common convention is featuring an image of the album cover to create familiarity to the audience.

A number one single is promoted so she is recognised as an artist.

Another convention we used is providing details of where the audience can purchase the album.

Text is small, simple and straight forward to keep focus on the artist.

Shows unique, revealing clothing to give her sex appeal and show her style.

Magazine Advertisement

Artist is centrally positioned to show her dominance of the album.

We developed conventions by making our artist’s body language unusual, but kept a happy facial expression to attract the audience.

We challenged conventions by using contrasting colours of black and white to catch attention of the audience.

Features a large image from the digipack so it portrays the same image and style of the artist.

Used the convention of props to show theme of pearls to coincide with the digipack.

Digipack Front Cover

It is conventional to feature a large image of the artist to show she is the main feature of the album.

We developed conventions by giving our artist a name- ‘Heidi’. This gives her originality which appeals to the audience.

A convention we used is naming the album after one of her popular songs to create familiarity to the audience, it also coincides with our theme of pearls.

We followed the convention of revealing clothing by using a full length shot.

The same style is portrayed throughout the digipack and advertisement. The font of the text fits

with the softer, more elegant side of the album.

We also created a logo for our artist’s name to create familiarity

Back cover

A common convention is the track listing of the album of eleven songs.

A convention we used is the showing the record label and production information.

We used conventions of real media products by adding a barcode onto the back cover, this would be essential in selling the album.

We have incorporated our reoccurring theme of pearls.

We used a mid-shot of our artist to show her features and facial expression.

We developed conventions by placing our artist in an unusual pose, this shows her unique style.

We used consistent colours of black and white to create a soft, sophisticated side to the album.

Make-up and hair makes her look attractive, which appeals to the audience.

Thank-you Page

It is conventional for an artist to have a thank you page showing her appreciation to all their fans.

We used common conventions and featured a friendly image of our artist smiling to attract our audience.

It allows the audience to build a relationship with the artist and makes them feel involved in her career.

It includes the artist’s logo and the kisses create a friendly tone to the audience.

Another convention we used is changing our artist’s outfit throughout the digipack.

We kept our text to a minimum to ensure the audience doesn’t lose interest.

Inside Right & Inside Left

We used conventions and included song lyrics over an image of the artist inside the digipack.

This is the same image as our magazine advertisement, it creates the same style and makes the album easy to recognise for our audience.

We used conventions of real media products and included panels of images of our artist in different poses, locations and outfits

CD Background and CD

We challenged conventions by designing our CD to make it look like a pearl, this is unusual but fits well with the rest of the digipack.

Our CD background coincides with the design for our CD.
