What message did you want to send to your audience through your

poster and review? Through my poster and review I wanted to show that

the film has a lot of hidden messages to it. Within the review I wanted to tell the audience that the film isn’t just about a single parent loosing a child, its about how goes about grieving and how that it is okay to react like that. For the poster the tag line was the most important to get right as that it was gives you the first feeling about the film and I think my tag line creates tension. Just overall between them show that this film is going to have tense moments but also will tug on your heart strings.

What is your film’s unique selling point?

I think the unique selling point of my film is that is quite a big back story and also the two twists at the end. It has super imposed text at the beginning of the film saying that the fence has been keeping the community surround since the 19th century. To me this is unique as it give the story more depth and a huge back story to justify why they live like they live. Also we find out that almost all of it is a dream sequence, it is very hard to understand a dream sequence sometimes but I love her reaction when she wakes up it really make us realise that what we saw did really happen and she is having almost a nightmare about it. But what I find the most unique is when Chloe (Alex) kills the priest (Thomas). Having her come out of her shell for her daughter and overcome the stereotype of women being the damsel, she kills the man and proves that she is a strong woman not only for being a single parent but also standing up and taking power away from a man.

What unique selling point and mode of address does you poster and

review have? I think the unique selling point of my review is that I used a

different angle of the protagonist than what you normally see on a review page. But I think it shows more feeling towards the film and towards the character. When it comes to my poster my unique selling point would be that I used Violet on the front which is Chloe’s daughter that is dead. Although she isn’t the lead I still want her to be the main focus of the film as everything Chloe is doing is for Violet.

The mode of address for my review would have that ive tried to explain everything in that little bit more detail so people can truly understand what its about. I have have used sharp words and highlighted the general overview. For my poster, the mode of address is very formal but also sharp and to the point like my review. It is professional and used different fonts and sizes to draw the eye to new places.

How are they similar to your short film and how does it

represent it? I have tried through all three things to use the same colour scheme

and stick with the very forest kind of muted colours. But also I used images in my review and poster which are either stills from the film or photos from one of the locations to really incorporate the meaning of the film. They all link together as well as they show different parts of my film. For example you would see the poster first and that’s when you see Violet as she is shown right at the beginning of the film, then you would read a review and find out that it is about her mother acting out and it shows a picture of her mother struggling. It is in chronological order as how the characters are seen throughout the film.

The similarities themselves represent my film very well, like the imagery and the use of colours. But they also have the same title, The Fence and that it has all the same actors names repenting my film through the continuity.

How do the three products work together and how effectively does the review and poster

advertise your film? They all three work together really well I feel as they each show a

different element of my film. If they all looked exactly the same I would feel as the audience that I have already seen the movie and that there would be nothing else to it. The review and poster work together to show a different layer and different meaning of the film which builds up to seeing the whole film and it all becomes clear. I have been true to the imagery and tag lines through the review and poster, and therefore taken them from the narrative for the film making them all link and work together. Overall I think they work together to give my audience the best sense of the story and the overall short film and the characters in it.

I think that they work really well in getting the message across which is that people do things for the right reasons and that everyone has their own thoughts. I think that my tag line of my poster provokes it’s own opinion and the review questions the right parts about the film which again will provoke the audience to have its own opinion. I feel that they advertise it very well and effectively.
