Manufacturing

ESTS (GB) Ltd. is an established manufacturer of autoclaves and sterilizers for the healthcare, biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries.

Our capability is such that we are able to design and manufacture bespoke autoclaves ranging from between 300 to 6000 litres capacity. ESTS (GB) Ltd. autoclaves are available to suit a wide range of applications including:- multi-purpose laboratory autoclaves, porous load sterilizers, pharmaceutical sterilizers, and high security autoclaves for containment levels 3 & 4 (CL3 / CL4)

All autoclaves are designed, manufactured and installed in accordance with the requirements of internationally recognised standards including BS EN 285, BS3970, BS2646 and PD5500.

In addition all autoclaves and pressure vessels are independently certifi ed as compliant with the Pressure Equipment Regulations (European Directive 97/23/EC) and CE marked accordingly.

Validation is carried out by qualifi ed Test Persons (Sterilizers) and tailored to suit the client’s requirements.

A typical problem encountered with older autoclaves, is that in many instances, where a manufacturer has opted to supply their own bespoke control system, they are often unable or unwilling to support outdated and obsolete components. To aid long term support for the equipment, ESTS (GB) Ltd. aims to use only proprietary components throughout the manufacture of both the autoclave and the control system.


Servicing

ESTS (GB) Ltd employs an experienced team of service technicians, all of whom are fully conversant with the majority of manufacturer’s autoclaves, sterilizers and washer disinfectors in use today.

All preventative maintenance and periodic testing is carried out in accordance with the requirements of recognised industry standards such as HTM 2010, HTM 2030 and HTM 2031.

Service contracts including breakdown cover, guarantee a technician will attend to your problem within 24hours. Under normal circumstances we will always aim to have the technician on site during the same working day that the call is received.

For those clients operating 24 hours, we also offer an out of hour’s emergency call out system. With this option, you are guaranteed that no matter what time of day the problem arises, you will have an engineer on site within 4 hours.

Upgrading

An autoclave represents a major capital investment with a projected lifespan of typically 10 to 15 years under normal operating conditions.

The autoclave chamber is a very large part of this fi nancial investment. Where the autoclave or sterilizer chamber remains in an acceptable condition after this time, it is very often the control system that becomes obsolete and fails.

In these instances it can be economical to consider updating the autoclave control system. ESTS (GB) Ltd. offers a control system upgrade package that can be very easily installed and programmed to suit any autoclave.

Refurbished and upgraded autoclaves from ESTS (GB) Ltd offer excellent value for money and will save considerable sums over the cost of brand new autoclaves.

ESTS (GB) Ltd is always conscious of the clients own fi nancial constraints and with this in mind works with the client to deliver a package that meets their expectations both in terms of technical performance and within budget.


Logiclave Lab

Logiclave Laboratory Autoclaves

The Logiclave Laboratory Autoclave is intended for processing a wide range of materials found in today’s modern laboratory environment including sealed / unsealed culture media, fl uids, plastic and mixed discards, fabrics, glassware, equipment and utensils.

Design

The design of the autoclave is based on the key requirements of the following standards / references:

• PD5500: 2003

• BS EN285 1997

• BS 2646 1993

• BS 3970 Pt1

• BS EN 61010

• HTM 2010

• C14 NHS Model engineering specifi cations

• HSE Guidance Note PM73

In addition, the equipment complies fully with the appropriate requirements of the Pressure Equipment Regulations 1999 (SI 1999 No. 2001) and is CE marked accordingly.

Vessel construction

The chamber, jacket and doors are manufactured from minimum 6mm thick high grade 316L stainless steel for maximum corrosion resistance.


Logiclave Lab

Other process contact materials are generally of conventional copper and brass construction although where appropriate, hygienic stainless steel is also used. Each stage of the vessel manufacturing process is witnessed and certifi ed by an independent Insurance Company who also verifi es the materials used, welder qualifi cations, weld procedures and acceptance of hydrostatic pressure test.

Control System

The autoclave control system is based on the following hardware components:

• Rugged industrial PLC type controller

• Analogue input module

• Temperature input modules

• Digital input modules

• Digital output modules

• Full colour operator interface (Touch sensitive screen)

• Independent data recorder (Where specifi ed)

The control system software has been specifi cally developed for the precision control of the autoclave process. Program confi guration, initiation and monitoring of the process are all possible through the ergonomically designed operator interface.


Logiclave Lab

Data Recording

The Logiclave Laboratory Sterilizer is supplied with a 40 column thermal printer as standard. Detailed records of each process cycle run including critical times, temperatures and pressures are printed. Program parameters may also be printed for validation records. The Logiclave system automatically archives to internal memory all logged cycle data for future retrieval, printing and analysis. Typically, up to the last twenty cycles are stored in the database.

Further options include independent data recorders with either paper or graphical interfaces provide assurance that sterilizing parameters have been satisfi ed.

Logiclave Supervisor

A PC based data acquisition system that operates over an industry standard Ethernet connection. The Logiclave Supervisor package can be connected to any number of Logiclave controllers giving managers the ability to remotely monitor the status of each Logiclave in real time. All logged data generated by the Logiclave controller is automatically downloaded to a database on the PC. When reviewing the data, the integrity of the data is verifi ed before being displayed.

Bio-Containment

Variants of the Logiclave Laboratory autoclave to suit the requirements of containment laboratories (CL3 and CL4) are available on request. Stringent bio-containment measures adopted include high security chamber drain with full effl uent retention / sterilisation, dual high effi ciency exhaust fi lters, mechanically clamping doors and bio seal panels between adjacent areas.

Logiclave Porous

Logiclave Porous Load Sterilizers

The Logiclave Porous Load Sterilizer is intended to sterilize porous and non-porous items by a method using saturated and pressurised steam. It is suitable for sterilisation of air entrained porous items such as linen, dressings, wrapped instruments and utensils, hollow instruments and instruments with lumens.

Nominal sterilization times and temperatures are:

• 3 minutes at 134 - 137°C

• 15 minutes at 121 - 124°C
