Fields of ApplicationEtamagno-Bloc SY / Etamagno SYI pumps are mainly used forhandling thermal oils in heat transfer systems to DIN 4754.

Selection CriteriaFlow rate and pump headThe pump can be operated in any point of the individual perfor-mance curve, provided that NPSHA > NPSHP and the max. al-lowable pump performance and/or the max. allowable pumpdischarge pressure is not exceeded. The pump may also be op-erated near the shutoff head for short periods of time.Minimum flowIf the type of plant permits operation of the pump against aclosed shut-off valve, a minimum flow of
∼ 25% of Qopt.is required during this time.NPSHThe NPSH values given in the individual performance curvesare minimum values corresponding to the cavitation limit. Viscosity υ mm2 / sA rough selection of the pump size can be made on the basisof the performance charts. Exact selection, however, can onlybe based on the individual performance curves and/or a pumpselection software.Individual performance curvesThe discharge heads and performance data apply to pumpedmedia with a density of ρ = 1,0 kg/dm3 and a kinematic viscosityυ of up to 20 mm2 / s.If the density ≠ 1,0, the performance data must be multiplied byρ .All individual performance curves are based on a referencespeed and must therefore be recalculated on the basis of theactual nominal speed of the motor to be used.Modified pump performancePlease refer to our technical information booklet �CentrifugalPump Design� 0101.5.Please observe the limits indicated in the individual perfor-mance curves for cutdown and cutout diameters when deter-mining the impeller diameter.Pumped productThe pumped product must not contain any substances whichmight be chemically or mechanically aggressive towards thepump materials. Also, unfavourable operating conditions mustbe avoided (prolonged shutdown periods, high switchingfrequency, predominantly part load operation).Components made of nodular cast iron JS1025 are docu-mented by a test report to EN 10204-2.2 (chemical compositionof melt, tensile test and notched bar impact test). The test re-ports are only issued at the customer�s request. For inspectioncertificates type 3.1.A, B or C to EN 10204, extra charges andlonger delivery periods have to be taken into account (Pleasecontact KSB Pegnitz).Dry-Running ProtectionDry-running must be avoided by all means! If there is a risk ofthe pumps running dry, protection against dry-running must beprovided for. This can be achieved by appropriate measures onsite (pump power monitoring unit, flow meter, level meter, etc.),depending on the site conditions.
